Thread Topic:
Are terrorist inspired loadouts acceptable?
>>
I'd say not cool. But then I think that unit impressions are a bit suspect too.

Each to their own though.
>>
>Are terrorist inspired loadouts acceptable?
I really think it depends on the group you're doing, and where you're located. For example, a lot of people won't bat an eye in the US if you pull up to your field dressed like a Provo, but the "samper fee deviled egg" JROTC types will get heated if you wear a headscarf or pakol, waving a black flag, and keep screaming ALLAHU AKBAR; but you'd also probably get some shit in the UK if you showed up dressed like a Provo.

I personally think Haji kits are in sort of poor taste considering the recent events around the globe, but I'm not going to stop a guy from having fun as long as they realize the difference between having fun playing the bad guy, and getting yourself on a genuine watch list.
If I'm doing a rebel/militia kit for a game, I just keep it vague and use an older gun, a load bearing harness like a Chicom or ALICE, a balaclava, and a thrifted track jacket since that's pretty much every militant/rebel/militia group since the 70s.
>>
2bh a Viet Cong loadout would be fun to make
>>
>>2753702
One man's terrorist, and all that. But I think you would have to be a bit of a tool just to rock up to a game dressed as a terrorist, Nazi, Belgian or whatever other controversial uniform (unless the event actually called for it).

>>2753875
I wouldn't wear sandals to a game.
>>
>>2754021
But dressing up as a wannabe navy seal / slavboo is somehow less cringe?
>>
>>2754258
The difference is that it's built into the culture. A lot of the people who get into airsoft in the first place do it because of shit like Call of Duty or Battlefield, as opposed to getting into it because they came from real shooting or Civil War Reenactments. A lot of those people come in wanting to recreate the heroes or villains in the media they consume, and this is an easy way to do it. As it stands, most of the games that're out are modern military shooters, and we're only just now seeing more shit outside of that since the culture is finally shifting away from it all.

Hey /asp/ I'm looking at buying pic related as babys first airsoft rifle. Will this be alright or should a get an M4 instead?
Ive played enough airsoft to know that I'm going to get some use out of whatever I pick up but I'm not looking for a super expensive gun.

Is there no way for you to get a CYMA M14 over there in Ireland? I did a quick look and the only ones I could find were over €200 which is fucking crazy because they're under like $125 here in the US.
Gunfire has them for €160 and they do free downgrades to 1 Joule, but I know little of Ireland's laws regarding airsoft other than the whole 1J thing.
https://gunfire.pl/product-eng-1152194840-CM032A-rifle-replica-olive.html

If you can't, then I'd say save up for something from a slightly more reputable brand such as JG within your borders. Their G36 is stupid cheap and near indestructible.
https://gunfire.pl/product-eng-1152189535-JG0638-V2-subcarbine-replica-black.html
>>
>>2754462
And that's good or bad?
>>
>>2753702
I personally run an "Insurgent" loadout with a surplus M81 shirt, civilian style camo cargo pants, a modern cheapo Chinese chest rig, green shmagh, and the leather holster for my TT33, and carry an AK, MP40, or Sten. The main reason I did this is because it was cheap, fit a lot of my favourite guns, and added a bit of flavour to the countless waves of tactical types on my field. I mainly do it to have fun being the bad guy to shoot at, and hence why I went fairly vague with the "Insurgent" style, not trying to copy ISIS or the Taliban or what have you. I came at it more a la Insurgency. I think this is acceptable, some people may disagree. I do have to say though that coming with an ISIS flag tied to your back or something would be pretty fucking weird and I wouldn't be for it.

>>2753875
I have one, it's not perfectly historically accurate but it was very cost effective and also drew heavily from my favourite gun pool. Definately one of my favourites, and is a lot of fun. I would suggest to anyone that likes old AKs and older weapons to give it a try.
>>
>>2754462
>shifting away from it
I think that's also why fewer people are getting into it. Since a lot of the shooters aren't taking place in the 70's-2000's anymore, and instead are in the distant future; little shits can't put together their favorite COD class in real life anymore.

This isn't really a bad thing, but at least from what I've noticed, new people are becoming more and more rare in my scene up here in the north east. In a lot of ways it seems to be reverting back to how it was in the Late 90's / early 2000's; with a smaller more tight knit groups. Airsoft here is pretty cliquey these days.
>>
>>2756172
Are you sure you're not just making an assumption based on attendance at your local site? From what I can tell, across the board, the hobby is still growing.
>>
>>2756172
Every year the events I go to get bigger and bigger. Airsoft is changing in that people want more organized and bigger budget games rather than weekend games. The pickup game is declining whereas Milsim/Ops are growing. This also means that the average age of new players should go up a bit from being 17-18 to more into the 20s as the preferred method of playing by the older players is more expensive and thus requires a lot of mommy and daddy's money or getting a job.
>>
>>2757032
Like >>2757226 said

The local fields are dying, and the big ops are growing, which in general means the hobby itself is dying.

The vast majority of people that play airsoft aren't willing to shell out thousands, and travel half way across the country to get involved in a big event like that. Like I said in the other thread the "weekend warrior" is dead. It's all milsim people, and little kids that drop off after a few months. It's reverting back to its roots, which is good in a way, but bad in the sense that it's going to take a while for it to come back to what it was in 2007-2013
>>
>>2757434
I wouldn't say its dying but rather changing. By becoming more focused on a now rather large adult population into airsoft we'll see more focus by companies into new guns instead of just rehashed 150 dollar M4s designed to get any kid into the sport. Before the 2007-2013 period airsoft was just as much a hobby about collection as it was the game itself. An older fanbase with more money means that many manufacturers can develop niche markets of unique slavshit and the like, sell them for 300 or more a piece and get sales because its a rare gun to find. I'm going to enjoy seeing companies making airsoft versions of guns we don't have yet since everyone and their mother has an M4 or AK at this point.

Are KWC decent?

Looking at their M1911 and P226 models right now and I kinda need a pistol for the weekend.

Other options are some KJW CZ and M9 models.
>>
>>2757639
You forgot about the camera focus being way off.
>>
>>2757519
Wrestlefag here, but can confirm slightly. My brother and all of his friends were huge into Airsoft a few years ago, but he now just collects and shoots regular guns. I do know he and them would go to fields, but they stopped around 2014 I think.
>>
>>2760573
KWC 1911s are ok, but not Marui compatible, so spare parts are more difficult to source. Their other guns are really hit and miss.

KJW CZs are nice, their M9 is old, but relatively well put together. The new WE M9 is fairly decent, as is their Glock 17, and P226.

But they're all budget, metal guns, so none of them are going to be that good. And QC for all of them isn't great.
>>

Im not out for a high quality pistol, just something that will not break on its own or is overpriced for its quality level.

Just a quick backup solution since I recently got back in to airsoft and the aeg I just bought has a safety distance longer than a house, and the field Im going to this weekend has a lot of houses and open containers.

Thanks for the detailed answer, very helpful

Last time I did that was with a non standard pc motherboard with more accessories than a hpa fag, had to manually test which pins lead to card reader and which pins leads to audio. You live and you learn.

Try these steps:
>backtracing your process
>trial and error method

Nah nigga, an undisclosed number of anons complained to one admin: Germanbro (undisclosed because he wouldn't say) about issues with administration. Some of those were just from salty shitposters who got cracked down on for posting shit, others were legitimate complaints about admin process which had constructive solutions. Germanbro then tried to use those complaints to get another admin booted. Germanbro failed and so went behind the other admins' backs to start his own server and invited people over using a bunch of out-of-context PM logs to paint OG administration as evil. Only at this point did Germanbro get his admin powers revoked.

Since then he's tried desperately to give his little cult of personality some legitimacy, like in making threads with his server instead of both, but instead he's had attrition of his original admins and tighter, more restrictive rules and enforcement than was ever on the OG server (from what I've heard). In the OG server, the legitimate complaints brought up were addressed and constructively solved, admin accountability is up, and is the organization point for the /asg/ half of the /k/-/asp/ platoon going to the next Milsim West game. Shit's not perfect, and sometimes mods are a little too timid to stand up to problem posters, but it's not the cancer this stupid drama implies it is.

Yep, I've got the 2016 version and I wish I had waited, because those moonclips and 4" versions are more up my alley. I can't really compare no-hop to hop-up, i'd say it's still not very accurate at longer distances, but I barely notice in CQB. Mine has a little issue where I have to press the trigger/pull the hammer rather decisively or else it doesn't fully cycle and all kinds of crazy shit happens.
Probably one of the most fun airsoft guns I have for reloading alone, but for skirmishing, I'd prefer one that takes moonclips.

Just figure out what kind of gun you like the look of, most AEGs are of a muchness regardless of model.

Generally you want to stay away from gas as your primary, unless your doing a lot of CQB, but even then AEGs are just less of a ballache in general.

Forget 'sniper' rifles, and shotguns too (you can start buying useless shit if you get further into airsoft).
>>
>>2768486
Never cheap out on bbs, boots or eyepro. Price doesn't always guarantee quality though, but the cheapest shit is usually just shit.

Buy E&L, LCT, Lonex or Krytac gun. They are by far the most reliable stock guns in the markets. If you like tinkering with stuff, other options exist too.
>>
>>2769216
G&P and Cyma guns 04X and up are also solid
>>
>>2769257
G&Ps don't have nearly as great internals as the four I mentioned. Their gears are prone to snapping, the hop up is crap and the cylinder assembly isn't great either. Top notch externals though. Cyma is a rattling meme.
>>
>>2769285
t. never owned either and just bases his opinion on memes
>>
>>2768486
Check if there are fields that rent gear around you and play a few matches first and foremost. If you do like it get a Cyma AK and a chicom rig, also midcap magazines. Also a smart charger and lipo batteries (and if you're good at soldering/DIY you can also get a MOSFET so that you can turn your shit into a BB hose).

CYMA and G&P are decent for the money, and that guy isn't going to get an LCT etc. for 200 dollaridoos.
>>
>>2769401
G&P is great base for a project, but a poor recommendation for a newbie due to it's poor hop up. Cyma is kind of a lottery, like most chink manufacturers. E&L budget line up costs only little more and is vastly better.
The four I mentioned have better value and they actually retain it if you decide to quit and sell your shit. Second hand Cymas are sold for 100€>.
>>
Alright, thanks for the advice so far.
My plan is to gather some funds and get a side-arm first (pistol warrior is the coolest class anyway) and decide on my primary based on whatever the team ill be joining needs.

Although I'd appreciate a suggestion for a pistol, as the luger makes my dick go hard but the small mag makes it not a practical choice for a pistol warrior.
>>
>>2769499
Trust me, your team will need a full auto AEG. A pistol will be a waste of money because you'll be severely outclassed by AEGs and once you have an AEG, you don't really need the pistol. If you don't have the funds, rent or loan. If that's not an option, buy Cyma CM040.
>>
>>2769499
Luger GBB's all will break eventually and gl getting replacement parts for them.

>My plan is to gather some funds and get a side-arm first
That's a really dumb idea, not only it will cost more than an electric rifle, it will also be much less effective. Just get what I reccomended in >>2769320 and rock a tracksuit top, surplus camo pants and shoes that look like Adidas Gazelles if coolness is a dealbreaker.
>>
Shame none of the guns you mentioned are even sold where I'm gonna buy from.
The only cyma product here is an RPK, and I hardly have 300 bucks for just the gun.

There is a local store that has a very small selection, I might be able to get it there.
If not, they have an aug that looks pretty nice and is within my budget.

Get an ICS aeg with the split gear box. I have an upper gear box for outdoor and one for CQB. It's a ten second swap.

The newer ICS guns have the quick change spring feature. It takes a little longer (forty-five seconds?) but you won't need to buy a second gearbox
>>

>>2768877
Yeah that would be pretty great, give the terrorists/criminals or what have you enough time to pick their vantage points, and set up and then have the SWAT assault them. I agree, we need more police vs criminal stuff, I toyed with the idea of making a SWAT loadout just for giggles because I built one in the second Rainbow Six Vegas. Got too lazy though, and after a while discovered I'm not big enough on
black guns to take the time to do it.

Speaking of which, I'll call on all you fags to show me pictures of your older weaponry, anything with wood or based on a gun produced pre 1980's. Show me your cool shit.

Cancer aside, are those masks good for airsoft, CQB specifically? I can't get over how silly mesh masks look. There's absolutely no way to make them look good, unless you get a SteelMouth and accept rest of your face will be unproctected.
I also appreciate the depersonalization aspect they provide, and I think I could make them work with my MSF loadout.
>>
>>2769421
I got a Cyma 040 to kickstart the hobby again and I'm genuinely surprised how well it performs after doing some basic shit on it. The exterior doesn't have rattles or anything, except for the skelligton stock which makes an annoying twang when firing. Barrel quality is shit as expected, but that isn't something that can't be fixed on the cheap if I want to.

There are several manufacturer who make them. They're all mediocre at best. G&G / Army require a lot of immediate attention. Star / Ares is pain in the ass if you ever encounter a problem with it. ICS might be the least bad, but dunno really.

>>
>>2775985
Only G&G worth mentioning, pretty hard to get.
It's good, but it has its issues. Mag compatibility is so-so, you'll probably have to file most of them so they lock in place. Semi-auto is known to stop working eventually. Charging handle, although only a dummy, is rather weak, so don't slap it too often. Also front rail costs like 150USD. It's good, but needs work eventually.
>>
I got an Echo 1 XCR-L from a friend for free, but the magwell is finnicky. You really have to finagle the magazines for them to seat correctly. I wanna swap out the lower reciever, and from a glance it looks like an M4 reciever would fit with little difficulty, but I was wondering if any other anons had more hands on experience.

If you're making an MSF loadout, make an MSF loadout. Strapping something that looks like it's from Deus Ex onto something that's supposed to look like it's from MGS will look fucking stupid. Get yourself a two hole balaclava, a steelmouth thing and sew it into the balaclava, then some low profile goggles/glasses.

Just because you wear tiger stripe rolled up to your elbows does not make it MSF. Put effort into your costume if you're going to do a costume. Or you know, just play in whatever is comfortable instead of cosplaying.

>What is it that makes them bad? Are the parts loose fitting? feeding problems?

Lose the entire front end gets pretty loose, they have feeding issues, the thing the box mag attaches too snaps off easy, the wiring is bad.
>>
>>2779733
That does sound like a lot of the M60's I've seen. Yeah it's not a good choice. Any recommendations?
>>
>>2779820
Tbh, all the lmg's suck. The saw and pkm just suck the least.
>>
>>2779820
Kinda depends on how much you're willing to pay, desu. LCT makes a couple of MGs, but the only one under a grand is the RPD. If you're willing to put down the dosh, there's the LCT M60 which lacks the issues of other guns at the expense of like a grand and a half and the upcoming PKM which is looking to cost about as much. From there stick to higher end brands for support weapons, like Classic Army or G&P. CA would be your cheapest quality option for SAWs.
>>
>>2779733
For the record, this is mostly the case with A&K M60VN. Their M60E3 lacks most of these problems. The wiring is still so-so, though.

Ok I have a couple of questions since I am interested in getting a GBB pistol

>Is the WE tech Makarov worth money? What about their Luger? I know WE tech are iffy, but are these specific models crap?

>Where do you find ASG CZ75 P-07 GBB mags? I found like 1 place that has them in stock
>>
>>2787793
1. I wouldn't bother with most WE guns, some are really good, but not the ones anyone realistically wants. Also, no one makes a decent makarov right now, I would wait or pester other manufacturers for it.

2. No idea on this one, I just use a classic KJW CZ75...
>>
>>2787804
Yeah I figured as much. I really love using my sidearm and I wanted to make it even better by getting a GBB but my special snowflake gun tastes are making it hard

Also, not all springs are actually what they say on the tin. I know I've had Guarder and SHS springs that produced much higher fps than their ratings, and it wasn't just good compression.

Anyone has any experience with these?
Are they shite?
I'm kind of on a budget here.

I've heard good things about the jg. Think my local field uses them as rentals.

Thanks, it also comes with battery and charger included, just wasn't sure if their stuff was reliable.
>>
>>2789050

>>
>>2788548
Get the JG. The "H&K" ones are made by I believe Ares or some no name Chinese brand and are total shit.
JG G36s have gained a reputation for being absolutely retard proof, and a bunch of fields use them as rentals because of that like >>2789004 said. My local field's old JG G36s took so much shit that their new Elite Force sponsored guns would fall apart at.

Looking at buying my first airsoft pistol. I'm thinking about a KJ Works KP-01. Apparently you can get magazines that take either green gas or CO2. The CO2 mags don't fit flush with the grip, so I'd prefer green gas mags. Any downsides that I should be aware of? Also, roughly how many shots do you get out of a can of gas?
>>
>>2789735
I'd check out the gas efficiency of the KP-01. If they're anything like their 1911's they use a lot of gas. I love my US issue style 1911 from KJW but the green gas mag it came with holds a most a magazine and a bit. Bought myself a couple CO2 mags to go with it.
>>
>>2790104
That's because the 1911 design doesn't work in airsoft, regardless of manufacturer. The mags can't have a big enough reservoir and they're all incredibly inefficient.
>>
>>2790574
Haha. AEP mustard race!
>>
Co2>Green gas
>>2790104
I own a kjw M1911 and had no trouble with green gas mag. One reservoir was enough for two mags.

I gonna buy a new rifle. The two I like the most are the ASG CZ 805 and the ICS CXP APE.
What rifle would you choose and why?
The Bren is a bit cheaper, has a mosfet and full rail.
While the ICS is full metal body, split gearbox and compatible with m4 mags from the start. However its a bit more expensive.

Memery aside, I would say that the WE P226 is a genuinely good sidearms, worth looking into as an alternative to the KJW, anyway. I've been using one for the last 3 years, and aside from the stock hop, it's an absolute tank.

Hey, this might be a bit unusual, but I recently got an offer to buy a beta spetsnaz AK of unknown make for $60. It seems a bit unusual though, since it doesn't have the regular AKS-74u/Beta Spetsnaz sights, but the rear sights are the normal adjustable AK type sights and it has no stock. I recalled hearing something about Marui making a limited edition Beta Spetnaz in the 1990's with regular AK sights and no stock whatsoever (mentioned on their wikipedia page, here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Marui#Automatic_electric_guns as "AK-47 Spetsnaz (limited edition)"), so I got curious. There's almost no real source on Marui actually ever manufacturing this exact type of gun. Any oldfags care to weigh in on this

tl;dr Did Marui ever make a stockless Beta Spetsnaz AK with regular AK sights (instead of the AKS-74u sights)?

Which adds to the entire resevoir being enough for a single mag in about any other pistol considering they have twice the capacity, except those ones can usually get 1.5 to 2 mags out of theirs too.

I'm finding it hard to find info even in japanese websites, from what I little I managed to find it seems to be the precursor to the beta spetsnaz, made in very limited numbers. If it works and it's actually an original Marui alpha spetsnaz I'd buy it in an heartbeat, especially for 60 dolla.

>using A FUCKING SPRING POWER
Dude, you don't even know how to build it or how to use it. And you are unable making custom ammo too.
Once Snow Wolf has released their M82, there was some kind of hype about it. Turned out that this M82 is, in fact, an overweight body with a v.2 Gearbox inside, so lots of them have surfaced at the used guns market.
According to ekike, SW M82 is 7,3 kg without a scope, while the real steel version is around 13,5 kg.
Real steel L-39 is 49,5 kg. How do you plan to carry the similar load?
How would you make a body for it? Out of the real gun?
How do you plan to make an inner barrel? When Izhmash have made it's airsoft AK prototype, they thought that it would be a good idea not to use inner barrel and failed. I doubt that making a Lahti rifle without inner barrel would be a worthy way to spend time.
Do you have the machinery to produce the bbs of the desired shape and weight with consistence? Poorly-made BBs would be bad for the inner barrel and they would fly even worse.
How far do you want to shoot? If some youtubers can hit a target in around 100 meters under perfect conditions. And they have much lighter and simplier rifles.
How do you plan to use the gun? Usual sniper tactics involve active change of the position and with such load as L-39 it would be as difficult as playing a harmonica with your thumbnail.
Do you have any idea, how powerful should be the spring? What if such spring is unavalible at the market?
Do you have the power to pull it?
What about possible traumatism and fieldowners?

tl;dr just get a tuned VSR or an HPA sniper rifle

Who said I was gonna do that? If I did the math right, a spring like this should work: http://springs.mrspring.com/item/compression-springs/compression-springs-3/mcw25007-mw
