Thread Topic:
So do you wear camo to your field for effectiveness or fashion? Which of your cammies do you like best?
>>
I just wear some old DPM, because it was cheap.

I don't milsim or play games btw.

I like tigerstripe myself since it alongside OD and woodland look the best with a belt rig.

I guess my favorite camo to actually wear right now is my Mountain Flora. I also have a set of Greek Lizard I really like, but it's old and thin enough that I'm not sure how it would hold up to extended use. Also, it doesn't fit with all the Russian shit I own.
>>
>>2516399
Russian camos work pretty well in Russia and the Stans
>>
>>2516435
Mountain Flora pretty much only works in the Caucasus mountains. Slav magic, kinda like the magic that makes Alpenflage work in the Swiss Alps.
>>
Anyone have thoughts on the g&g top tech m16s? I was thinking of picking one up but all i can find are store reviews and 12 year olds reviews
>>
>>2517098
If you want an M16, get a G&P. Externally they're better, internally they're roughly equal, and you can find them with Colt trademarks if that floats your boat. Paying all that for a top tech is a waste.
>>
>>2517225
All the retailers near me are out of G&P products and they seem to be more expensive than the G&G TopTechs
>>
>>2517867

Canada
>>

You can try online. Evike might also be able to ship you it, though it will increase the price. I'd recommend paying the bit more though, if only for the external quality.
>>
>>2518693
I have already been looking on websites online and im not looking to pay for huge amounts of shipping. To give you an idea a g&p m16 is 500 maple dollars at a retailer that HAD them. They havent restocked in yeara but the G&G top tech m16s cost $350-$400. Still, i do appreciate the advice
>>
>>2517098
Older Top Tech G&G GR16A3s (2005 ver.) have their charging handles non operable, so you gotta peel back the dust cover to access the hop up dial.

>>2523105
Problem with working at an airsoft field is it isn't a traditional job. The Airsoft field industry has no real consistency as far as jobs and job descriptions go so it's really on the field owner to make it a job worth keeping. Problem is that most people that own Airsoft fields are shit at business. If they were any good they would never have opened an airsoft field. Terrible business to make money in.
>>
>>2523351
Not him, but i used to work in an airsoft field. It's a joke in every sense of the word. Here's a little rundown for all you that might get yourself into this situation.

>you will waste your weekends
friday-sunday will be spent being a babysitter. While all your friends are out having fun, you'll be either freezing / sweating your balls off listing to the typical issues everyone bitches about in airsoft for an armada of little shits.

>Nothing you do will ever be good enough
You will be blamed for everything that goes wrong. players will break shit, and you have to answer for it. I was the only ref at the field i worked at, and I was expected to watch over the setup area, and the field. When i wasn't in one, the other got fucked with, and i was bitched at.

>pay
lol tell me another joke. The people working in the sweatshops that make these guns will look like Donald Trump compared to you.

>the slow days
CancerQB will damn near die in the summer. just when you think you'll get to leave early, and actually enoy your Saturday evening, 1-3 people will come. You'll be expected to stay bright and positive and somehow make sure they have fun. The one person days are laughable. some parent will drop their little fuck off, and you'll have to sit with him explaining why he's the only one there and it will never happen again. This is difficult after the 3rd or 4th time.

>rentals
lol another huge joke. very few if any of them will work, same goes for the batteries you'll be using in them. You'll be expected to let the players use your shit.

>play for free
lol lies. You'll either be too tired, pissed off, not in the mood, too busy trying to get rentals to work, too busy cleaning to play.

tl;dr
don't do it. every ref hates it.
>>
>>2521560

>>

Where did you work? I worked at a field too and it wasn't that bad (though it was bad in some ways)
>friday-sunday will be spent being a babysitter. While all your friends are out having fun, you'll be either freezing / sweating your balls off listing to the typical issues everyone bitches about in airsoft for an armada of little shits.
The worst people are always older; the kids tend to be incompetent but at least try to be civilized

>You will be blamed for everything that goes wrong. players will break shit, and you have to answer for it. I was the only ref at the field i worked at, and I was expected to watch over the setup area, and the field. When i wasn't in one, the other got fucked with, and i was bitched at.
This happens, but why didn't they hire anyone else?

>pay
I made $15/hour, it's not particularly good but for what the job was it was worth doing for a while

>CancerQB will damn near die in the summer.
In contrast winter was usually the slower time, but there was almost always people playing. I think there was only one day where noone showed up.

>lol another huge joke. very few if any of them will work, same goes for the batteries you'll be using in them. You'll be expected to let the players use your shit.
Never bring your own stuff when working. You've gotta separate work from play. But yeah the rentals are always old as fuck combat machines or cheap aks.

>play for free
At best this is a perk, but I never ended up using it.
>>
>>2523158

>>
>>2522342

I dig the ergonomics and how it just has one cylindrical barrel without too much clutter.

I dislike the wooden stock though.
>>
TM MP5k high cycle any good as a primary? Wanted it for mid-close+charging in field games
>>
>>2523849
Why wouldn't cheap AKs work? I had a CM028, which is like bottom of the barrel, and even that worked like a clock and shot a consistent 360fps. ROF was nothing to rave about but it was still useful.

>>

Try using it after 200 15 year olds have done everything they can to fuck it up and the thing has never been cleaned or oiled. That's how the paintball rentals worked according to a friend of mine that worked at a field.

This is the reason why I swear by JG G36s being retard proof. My field was using the same JG G36Cs for the longest time before they picked up an Elite Force sponsor and they were forced to switch to some pretty subpar Amoebas. The G36s never had huge problems other than things like readjusting the motor or replacing a worn hopup, but the Amoebas were all over the place.
>>
>>2524417
True true
>>
>>2522130
I really like the Sten, which people think are cool but I doubt they'd like picking it up and actually gaming with it. For someone who has some trouble with short lengths of pull on some rifles and such I was surprised to find that properly holding Stens and MP40's feels incredibly natural to me.
>>
>>2524596
I'd wish someone made a GBB sten with a metal body, but then I'd remember that the typical Mk.I has an atrocious grip and that I would like a Sterling GBB with a metal body.
>>
>>2524608
The Mk I and II actually have a pretty decent grip when compared to the Mk III, which is probably the one you're thinking of.
>>
>>2524596
I'm itching to take an S&T Sterling AEG and mate it into a Ruger 10/22 stock to see if I could start on a Type 100 project. No idea if it would work out but I'd love to give it a whack. If it doesn't work at least I'd have a Sterling. First though I'd have to sell someone, they cost an arm and a leg up here in Canuckistan.

I really like the MK2 Sten AGM makes with the strut stock actually. The little square protrustion at the back is weird but not overly uncomfortable, at least, if you're me I guess.
>>
>>2524671
Best to buy a non-firing model and monkeyrig a Sterling AEG gearbox into it if you want autism approval. If not you're gonna have a gun which at range looks okay but will trigger any WW2 buff up close.
>>
>>2524671
Just get this :^)
http://www.tokyohobby.net/airsoft-guns/model-guns/caw-model-guns/caw-type-100-paratrooper-model-gun.html
>>
>>2524681
There's no doubt it wouldn't be very right, and would likely trigger the average WW2 buff but thankfully there are no WW2 buffs that I'm aware of on my field, and I believe that with a few little edits it would look like an almost, and have the handling characteristics of one.

The issue with buying a non firing prop model is as >>2524688 outlined. I'm going to assume the 1,995 is in USD which my dollar in Canada is 0.70 on right now.

At most I'd probably try it, and if it didn't work or looked too stupid I'd make certain the changes were reversible if possible and then use it as intended or resell it. My biggest issue with the Type 100 is I really like the *idea* of the gun, as the real thing was more or less a pile of shit when compared with it's contemporaries. Hence to have something similar enough even just to take out to shoot occasionally at targets would be fine and a lot of fun for me. With my current luck trading for one it probably won't happen anyways.
>>
So I am somewhat new, and I am wondering

What do you do to an AEG right out of the box before play? What needs fiddled with for it to really work? I have a CM040c btw

Okay, got my hands on a TM Mk23, already transfered the suppressor and LAM to my KWA Mk23 and I've put a short suppressor on a thread adapter on it instead.
It's my first Tokyo Marui replica and let me tell you, compared to KWA it's a toy, the only redeeming point it has over it in the looks department are the trades, which aren't painted on like in KWA. The sights are fixed, no dots, the decocker is fake, hammer hits nothing at all, the slide is obviously plastic. It's also so God damn light.

But that's not so bad, after years of airsofting it's what I needed, efficiency over flashiness, most of the time my sidearm stays holstered for the entire game, we don't do sidearm games too often here so you put yourself at a disadvantage not owning an AEG in CQB.

No blowback will probably render it pretty okay in the colder climate we have over here. Now, what mags should I get? Y&P despite occasional bad review? TM despite needing to be modded out of the box to take Green Gas? STTI with their lip issues?

Full auto should only be allowed in the outdoor games. BBs bounce off the smallest shit, wind changes the trajectory, you can't really make every shot count or go semi-auto like in muh real conflicts. Higher mag capacity and rate of fire is okay then (unless you have a drum in a M4, in which case kys).
In fucking CQB it should be semi-auto only, with maybe an exception of guns that shoot below 200 FPS like AEPs.
Want to lay suppresive fire on a fucking corner for 3 seconds then put some effort into it instead of magdumping and sidestepping.

Say what you want, but guns with a hose look stupid.
>>
>implying implications greenly instead of just stating your opinion

>>2531337
It's the orgnizators who allow such things to happen.

I went to a ''milsim'' event which was supposed to imitate Falkland conflict. The organizators didn't care to enforce their gear rules. Both parties were allowed to use the same camo, DPM even though no red/yellow arm bands were used. Snipers used modern ghillie suits. Couple retards had molle plate carriers and pimped out Colts. The organizators didn't care to throw those faggots out. It's the organizators fault for making a shitty event. I gave them a second chance. Same shit happened and I'm never attending their events again.

Fashion mainly. Although when I get around to building a Slav kit for MSW I'm totally getting a Sumrak in gold berezka since it's a sexy pattern and is really effective.

My favorite camo that I have is probably my desert night camo, just because it's so useless while still looking really cool.

I choose not to answer this one to remain Anon.

>the worst people tend to be older
It depends on the day. An ocean of little kids was worse than a few dick head older folks.

>why didn't they hire anyone else
Because no one else wanted to put up with the BS. Even the guys that were getting paid quit. I have no idea why my dumbass stayed so long. I was the only ref for 95% of that fields life.

>pay
I got perks, and cash every once in an extremely blue moon. Still wasn't worth it.

>never bring your own stuff
I stopped for a while. I used to bring it for the few minutes I'd try to play. Eventually the playerbase got so cancerous I had to bring it and stand somewhere in the field and say before the rounds "if I catch you cheating / destroying things, my gun shoots 430, and 25 a second. Try me." Thankfully that implication was enough to stop that. But the second id step off the field, something would get broken. They players even destroyed the bathrooms, so people have to piss outside in an ally.

Tl;dr
The place I worked at was a joke. I have such a bad taste in my mouth from that whole experience, I pretty much quit airsoft. I still like to buy guns and tinker with them, but I have better things to spend money on, so it's on the back burner.

So what, the best way would be to own a field but not make it into a business? Make everything invitational?
Well, I often had more fun plinking than playing with other people, so it might not be so bad to own a little maze and a patch of land to play at.

So I did a little tinkering, and I managed to make my gun actually shoot gas, a few times.

What I found is that the pin or knocker which the hammer is supposed to hit (I think), needs to be aligned, and it will do that if I press down this tab circled in red here, and it will do this consistently, as long as press down the tab each time.

Now, I figure, the slide being there, it should press down the tab as it goes back, right? No, but it does not, not at all.

I can take off the slide, and then cock the hammer and push down the tab, then when assembled, the gun will actually fire properly, ONCE, then it's back to the pin/knocker not aligning itself. With the slide off, I can cock the hammer and press the tab, and pulling the trigger will make it hit the valve as well.

Anyone who knows shit about HiCapas willing to give some input? I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do.
The Tais aren't particularly helpful, they basically said "just break it in lol".

If I wanted to take my dog to airsoft what would you recommend for her for safety? I've been toying with the idea of talking to some organizers and doing a search and destroy thing where I will be part of the searching and destroying team and since my dog and I do SAR, she knows how to search for stuff. I would work with her a little bit prior to the event with what she would be sniffing out, but I think it would be fun and allow her to practice more in a fun environment beyond the basic hide and seek we do.

I'm worried about her safety though, sort of. She, of course, is a tough dog. She has goggles and her harness covers most of her torso, but I'm a little worried about her ears. She doesn't mind them being messed with too much, but I don't really know anything that could potentially cover them but also not press against her uncomfortably or restrict her hearing.

Any thoughts?

Ok guys, I'm about to make an expensive decision and I need advice.

I'm looking for an M14 for outdoor play. It's going to be one of these two:

http://www.evike.com/products/62949/

http://www.evike.com/products/27155/

I prefer the G&P's externals for the flash hider and rails, and it has a usable outdoor FPS as well.

The TM on the other hand is legendary in terms of out of the box performance from what I've heard, which is a plus. However it lacks the rails, flash hider and most importantly the FPS.

I already have an older G&P M14 and I plan to transplant the internals into a Kart JAE stock.

Wait a minute, it's be retarded if I bought another G&P M14 right? Then I'd just have two of the same guns with different stocks, and I'd end up never using one once I decided which stock I preferred. If I get the TM I can use it for CQB as well. Did I just answer my own question?

So I should get the TM right?
>>
>>2537056
Wait if you already have an M14, why get another?
>>
>>2537060
Because I fucking like M14s. I'd be open to getting an M4 style gun like a Krytac since I have mags and stuff already but I don't feel any real attraction to M4s other than their unrivalled aftermarket. M14s, on the other had, appeal to my dick.
>>
>>2537071
I like M14 too, but having a single gun that you can drop into other stocks seems like a good idea. It's like getting two AR uppers instead of two separate guns.
>>
>>2537075
Agreed, but I can justify having two M14s with the FPS difference. I'm going with the TM, that way I can use it for CQB and the G&P I already own for Field use.

It's a little heavy for CancerQB so initially I was going to get a TM MP7 eventually, I have a lot of mags and part for it already.
>>
>>2536989
Your dog is going to get hit on the nose many times.

>>
>>2536989
Seems like a bad idea. The only way I could see this working is if there was some Police/SWAT LARP and the doggo would be used to find leads and shit and if it did, some sort of police raid would be carried out.

It's one dream of mine to have a game like that, guys wearing eyepro and some police tier guns like revolvers carry out an investigation, mafia has its own objectives and they must remain conspired, SWAT guys on stand-by or training so they're not bored out of their minds. Maybe providing surveilence on some leads, constant radio communications.

If shit hits the fan it's Mafia armed with whatever they managed to purchase/smuggle versus police.

I don't pretend to be a soldier. I don't try and replicate any sort of real military loadoat or do an impression. I wear what I need for the game at hand. If Airsoft ever wants to go mainstream it's going to have to give up the milsim aspect and become a competitive sport in its own right much like paintball did.

It's already plagued with cheating as it is, with no financial insentive for winning. So unless there was some way of reliably monitoring and enforcing rules, competitive airsoft, like paintball, is never going to happen.

Also the milsim aspect of airsoft is what attracts most people to the game, not so much dressing up as a soldier, but the realistic looking guns.
>>
>>2540565
>Also the milsim aspect of airsoft is what attracts most people to the game, not so much dressing up as a soldier, but the realistic looking guns

The hardcore milsim people are what drive away what would be mainstream players because they don't want to be associated with LARPING. They would love to play anything that involves firing high speed projectile weapons at each other but that "dress up" aspect turns the off playing.

Thing is, airsoft is fucking lame if you strip all of the loadout and impression stuff away and compare it to paintball.
I know you can cheat at paintball by wiping and what not, but it's much closer to a real sport and honestly if I were to play comptetive PvP, I'd much prefer to do so at paintball.
I'm reading the impressions of my local community of the last Border War, and apparently the cheating and shit was so rampant it's the only thing they write about.
If the only way to play airsoft was like in pic related, I'd much prefer to just get an airgun and plink away. Airsoft pleasure is 90% dressing up and playing pretend and 10% an occasionally good game.

where I play, games and fields are usually all organised by the team that owns the field and they tend to not be in it for the money

Where the actual fuck did he buy it? I know plenty of places where they were/are sold in the $500-$600 range.

If your friend actually paid next to a grand for it he was on the end of one of the biggest rip-offs I've ever heard. Also tell your friend he can buy green gas mags for it, no need to use those stupid ass 8 gram CO2 mags.

Its a neat plinker but I'd be interested if it shot say 5-10 rounds at once. If it had a spread to compensate for its slow rate of fire I could see it being viable in semi-only field games.

I've been using the pistol in this webm for north of 5 years. It's a taurus pt-92, licensed (made?) by cybergun. It's compatible with the majority of baretta mags and runs Co2 and green gas well.

I've used mine in temperatures from -35 Celsius to +35 and it ran perfectly. You can usually find one for no more than 150$. Just make sure to lube your mags and clean it regularly if you get one. Friction between the gas system and the top of the metal slide can be troublesome if gunkey old lube builds up.

Tokyo Marui GBBs are solid and you can get them now with metal slides or buy upgrade pieces.

Wow man, thanks for acknowledging all the points I made in THIS PARTICULAR pistol's reliability. Did you completely read the post? Many cybergun products are merely licensed, not manufactured by cybergun. Some sites list it as a KWA product, I'm just not sure.

Fact of the matter is, it's worked well after 5 years of heavy use all year round. That's why I'm recommending it you massive faggot.

I have a Tokyo mauri 5-7 and I'd never recommend it to anybody. TM still makes some quality gear though. Getting the picture?
>>
>>2548666
I actually spoke with my buddy yesterday about it. He said it was just around a grand at the time because of limited stock and the fact it was new.

He actually did buy two gg mags and said they're awful. The gas tank in them is built sideways, and if you've ever fired a gg gun upside down or sideways you'll know the gas is released heavily/inconsistently.

He told me there's no way to use the mags and have consistent accuracy or hop up.

>>
>>2548734
Cybergun doesn't make a single gun, they re-brand them. As long as you know who makes the gun then you'll be fine.
For example they re-brand and distribute King Arms AEGs, which are pretty decent on the inside and have outstanding externals, but at the same time distribute sub-par KWC Desert Eagles.
I think their "PT-92" is just a KJW M9 with shitty Taurus trades, so you'd be fine with that.

They can actually. Had an aftermath mp5 sitting in storage for 4 years, took it out last week and it was borked. Gears are stripped or some shit. Was fine when it went into storage.

>It's even worse when they overshoot, and all of them do.
I sometimes wonder are these people simply retarded, they hold down the trigger until they get a reaction, and when it's like 20-30 metres away, it might take a second or two taking into account it takes a second for BBs to travel, for you to flinch and raise your hand. I honestly never see anyone using semi-auto or bursts, even the hardcore milsim types, they adopted this convenient excuse that "le nobody calls hits" so they don't care about mag capacity realism and instead light everyone up until they call it. Even at point blank, where it's obvious one BB is enough, especially from their carefully tuned 500FPS hand cannons.
>>
>>2554376

The thing with overshooting and 30-50rps is that you can hold the trigger for 1 second and fire 30 bb's downrange.
>>
Cyma trishots worth anything? Or if I want a good shotgun I have to shell out for something more expensive?
>>
>>2554541
Depends how you perceive good. They're reliable but the spread is something you'd expect to see in a video game (don't expect to hit small targets at 10+ metres everytime) and the pull is pretty hard.
For cheap fun they're great, but for efficiency I'd save money for a Marui 870
>>
>>2554549
TM 870 looks nice but it costs 350 Trump shekels so that's a big no no. I guess I'll settle then for the cheapshit Cyma and see if I actually like shotguns in airsoft. Thanks for the advice though.

they're good fun, however as previously mentioned they are cheep and as such are not made out of the best stuff.

I had one have a feed issue and die, the replacement one I have had and issue with a miss-feed which almost but the air nozzles

Might be worth picking a cheep one up just to see if you like playing with a shotty
>>
>>2555528
It depends. Iv seen CQB style guns shoot well over 100 feet and iv seen DMR type sr25 styles that shoot 100 feet max. It's all about air seal my friend. Barrel length actually isn't as dramatic for range increase like a real gun. In an airsoft gun it can actually become a problem depending on piston to barrel volume

Depends on the course of action that you chose for out of stock items. For example, this is the one I chose for a barrel that I recently bought from them.
Also, you could have simply just bought the last one they had.
>>
>>2556334
eHobby's a fairly reputable site. Probably has an automatic system which deducts an item from stock when the order is placed. Worst comes to worst you get a refund from them. Also hope you've been using Paypal or a secure pay system if you're afraid of being robbed.

>Russian, WW2 and Vietnam era shit

Are you me? Also I'm going to throw out a totally weird suggestion, one of my favourite loadouts to grow and look into was my Viet Cong loadout. The reason I really started to like the idea is because I really like old guns, they're my cup of tea. Additionally playing a "bad guy" in fields full of American modern gearwhores feels kind of different and fun.

So if you like guns from WW2 to the Vietnam period, it allows you a lot of flexibility. I currently have an AK47, M1A1 Thompson, MP40, BAR, TT-33 Tokarev, Makarov, and Walther P38 that fit as VC guns. That's something I love about it, the range of weapons over some of my favourites is large. They used a whole bunch of other guns also, including captured American/South Vietnamese weapons quite often.

It's also really cheap to put together, I didn't go for full historical accuracy because it's really only for regular games, but I got a set of button up black BDU's a size big for me, a Viet Cong style green boonie, Chinese canteen that bears a close resemblance to the ones used there, and then my required leather holster and old school chest rig/mag pouches for a given weapon.

Additionally, Vietnamese Communist music is very catchy, if I didn't manage to catch your attention with any of the above. If you want something easy and different, I'd suggest it.
