Ok so I am buying a CM040C as my first outdoor rifle, but I am still confused about purchasing batteries. I looked on hobbyking but the recommended LiPo for it were either in europe or out of stock, and all of the different numbers/sizes are making me crazy. Nah, it's location and function. Most indoor fields are near or in population centers, so it's easier for parents to drop them off and go do their own things for an afternoon. They keep the kids mostly happy and physically active, so of course Mommy is going to dump little Timmy at the airsoft field so she doesn't have to deal with him while she gets her hair done or buys more red wine or whatever.

If they're out in the boonies, parents aren't going to want to drive all the way out there for it and spend the gas.

Aeg is master race. GBB are neat toys that are too expensive and finicky to be a daily driver for most people. HPA seems to appeal to the worst type of player for whatever reason, I truly believe it's a meme. I'm considering getting a HPA for my F2000 because gearbox is proprietrary and has some faults, it's not really meant for stronger springs and I can't compete when everyone has 550FPS on their DMRs, and I really like the gun and would like to use it without feeling like it holds me back. I would never ramp it to some surreal RPS and spray kids though, I prefer real-caps and semi-auto, I consider burst instead of full-auto, too.
I have it figured out how I want to lead the hose and it shouldn't get caught in bush in shit more than my sling.

You don't have to do it for FPS. do it for stability and air seal. FPS is probably the smallest part of performance. Do your HPA conversion and get a sweet barrel with a nice hop up if possible. You can be consistent and long range at a speed that doesn't make people angry

I don't use a regular HPA gun, but I use HPA because it's extremely reliable. I've had a gun like pic related for ~4 years and I've never needed to fix it or do anything to maintain it. I just have to load shells and make sure the air tank is filled and I'm ready.

How's APS UAR for CQB <350FPS?
Does it have any annoying issues out of the box or parts prone to breaking? I heard something about the trigger, can anything be done with that?
I want something compact, STANAG compatible, plenty of battery room and with a 14mm- barrel so I can finally use my fucking tracer unit or something, and UAR seems to fit the bill for the most part. It's also avaiable in shops, so there's that too. Any users of it here?

There's that magic word again. Just because the nozzle isn't the same length as M4/AK and it has a weird selector plate, doesn't mean that the whole gearbox is offspec. G&G F2000 has V6 gearbox which is perfectly upgradable to any performance level with standard parts.

Also I don't trust the MP7 too much, especially that the tracer unit I bought is worth more than it is and it would suck if the barrel snapped or something.

I have 2 APS guns. One is an older model and cheap. Honestly the first one was a dog but for the price it was what it was.

The second is a newer generation m4 called a guardian 111. The price was okay probably near mid range at 400 bucks after all said and done. It's far superior to the older gun. In basically every way. I think it's decent for a mid rice gun. There new stuff has really come into its own and it has more compatibility to Marui and such unlike previous iterations. I'd say it's a great starting point. With upgrades. APS guns can defiantly perform with anything else you might be playing against.

It's cheap compared to the other platforms, it's the most common one(at least in my country, that is) and gets the job done. A gas handgun could be a nice backup, but most of the times it's just extra weight.

Not really. Look for something used that has some life on it before it requires another hydro test. Depending on the gun you may need a tank with a lower psi output. That mostly applies to higher end guns.

I took it apart a little (taking off the grip assembly, it was really finicky to put it back together again, but I did), I got a look at that knocker/firing-pin, and it's there, but it seems like it's broken or something, I press it and it sort of goes in a little, but it's not hitting the valve hard enough to release gas (or hitting it at all).

I also kind of want to permanently depress the grip safety, but I'm not 100% on how I'd go about doing that.

Haven't been in a few years but I'll list all the ones I used to go to. Some of these might not have airsoft events anymore, so you'll have to look into it.

Great mid-sized/ mid range combat maps, lots of cover. Sets are rather nice, my favorite one was the one with the shipping containers, second favorite was called "viet nam" with the downed heli in the middle.

Went there for a fallout themed game, had a blast. Park itself is rather plain and the only man made structures are some parallel concrete walls and a grain elevator type thing, so not really much of a close quarters map.


Those were all the ones I played at, there were rumors of an illegal/grey area one set around some docks downtown, but I can't remember the name of it. I know that a lot of the Team Nemesis guys used to play there though and it might have been invite only, as it was private property.

This is an issue with Krytacs though. It's not necessarily an issue of the quality of externals as it is how Krytac decided to put them all together. Krytac uses a screw to secure the rear body pin, and that screw can also create undue pressure on the body at its weakest point. If the screw is over-torqued, there's a higher chance of it cracking under the stresses of normal temperature changes. What's more is that they come from the factory over-torqued, so some sad faggot who doesn't know about this shit will end up with a cracked receiver if he takes it out of the heat into his air conditioned car, for example.

The way to fix this problem is simple: detorque the rear body pin screw a little (use some locktite if you're worried about it coming loose) and be careful not to overtorque when putting it back together after maintenance.

This isn't some random fluke where a single product slips through quality control and shits the bed; this is an entire product line that has a well known issue that renders it inoperable.
All Krytac would have to do is ditch the ancient method of screwing the gearbox into the receiver and instead use a pin like every other company. The internals on them are solid and for the longest time they made some of the more tacticool guns before other companies started doing it. They also have a really good marketing department.

Because they use above average internals which are well assembled with an in-line mosfet and fairly durable externals. The aforementioned body pin screw issue impacts every M4 that uses it, including high quality ones since near everyone uses aluminum. The issue is that even though the in-line mosfet and quick change gearbox are all forward thinking features, the externals continue to have this issue. It's nothing against the guns, they perform just fine (even though I think there are better options on the market with equal or better internals and externals for comparable prices), it's just being able to recognize an inherent flaw with the design of their externals. Many, if not most people will never have this issue, but those that do it's not their fault. Why I usually recommend LCT. Yes, even their M4s. They use really high quality internals like CNC'd piston/cylinderheads and tightbore barrels standard. Externals use regular pins and rail is milspec.

The 74u IMO is one of the best AKs for a milsim game as its usually compact and lighter so in a game mode where you do lots of walking and holding places its great especially if you're not a big guy.

Not zippy enough on the trigger response, you'd have to Lipo mod it. JG and other AEG clones are based on TM I believe so they should work, but its more fun as a secondary or something to dick around with. You'll be outperformed by most guns on the field.

Complicated is a relative term. A gearbox is not a terribly complicated piece of machinery. With endless youtube and Internet resources to rely on, no one should be intimidated to work on their internals.

The only things worth getting from Real Sword nowadays are their Type 56 and Type 97. You can get a CYMA clone of their SVD, and both E&L and LCT make lots of other AK variants and snowflake Slav guns.
I remember them making a prototype QBU-88 which would have been cool, but that was back in like 2011.

Depends on the thickness of the cardboard. You're going to want an overall thickness of about 3/4" to 1" for it to fill out the pouches.
You can also use magazines for added weight, or get some plastic dummy SAPI plates and fill them with sand.

Milsim is short for military simulation. You are expected to simulate military realistically and being a soldier isn't always about taking the shortest path. Why would you attend to an event where people want to experience military operations as close as they can if you want low drag and high speed? It's not only about the gun. A soldier would have food, water, first aid kit, tourniquet, handcuffs, knife, another pair of socks, more water and a backpack full of other useful stuff. Then there's the platecarrier with plates that aren't hollow plastic. An excess kilo doesn't weigh much in the big picture.

AKS74U is relatively rare gun in the Russian army as it was made for spec-ops, chopper pilots and tank crew. Also, due to its awful handling characteristics, poor accuracy and low range its pretty much universally hated by the Russian army and basicly sees no use in real operations. Would it be realistic to use one in a military simulation where your role isn't a chopper pilot or tank commander?
