not sure I like the look all that much but all those features its packed with.

wish it had the carbine version as an HPA out of the box though. just the short version, i dont feel i could take it out to the field all that reliably

What brand makes good gas pistols? I bought Army armament, big regret. However, what brand should I choose?
>>
>>2561051
Most Japanese/Taiwanese brands like KJW, Maruzen and Tokyo Marui are fairly solid. Avoid any Chinese made GBBs as they're far more prone to cheap potmetal based failures. Plastic Jap gun > Chink metal anyday even if its not realistic.
>>
>>2561061
How are KWA? Are thet the same as KJW?
>>
>>2561070
KWA's had a history of internal issues on their guns, I'd recommend staying away unless you must absolutely have one of their GBBs that aren't made by others.
>>
>>2561051
>bought Army armament, big regret
Which one did you get?
>>
>>2561082
The R31.
>>
>>2561080
I traded a Well sniper for a KWA HK45, the one rebranded by umarex. They are quite expensive here in Sweden.
>>
>>2561105
Chink metal and CO2 powered, not a good combination
>>
>>2561137
I don't think that any of the Army Armament pistols are Co2 powered.
>>
>>2561214
The R31 can fit a co2 mag. But the one I had was green gas. It broke because the gas froze the bottom plate and cracked it.
>>
>>2561221
>gas froze the bottom plate and cracked it.
Sounds like a easy fix, nothing needs to be "big regret" about it?
>>
>>2561244

whats /asg/'s thoughts on night games/lowlight games?
Are tracers worth bringing/using?
Flashlight?
How dark are you willing to play in, and with what?
>>
Someone in the last thread was asking about TAAGS in Washington? Cool to know someone else here goes to my field. I will probably be there this weekend. Hopefully with a new gun.
>>
>>2562644
I played one last week and I had zero night equipment, but still had fun. I mostly liked being able to creep around and side arm people. It seemed like flashlight people had a slight advantage in some respects (getting bbs on target) but painted themselves as a target for all of the sneaky people whenever they lit up

didn't see any tracer users

>Share your most comfy Airsoft experiences with us! What were the most heartwarming and happiest moment you had while operating?

>>

My first game was a night game at a military training site with buildings and stuff. It was seriously sweet it's like a totally different site compared to daytime. If it's dark enough I would use a flashlight/tactical flashlight.

I own both KWA/KSC & KJ GBB
here's a simple list that i made for you

KJ
pros
>>cheap, sturdy,
>>marui spec
>>can take both green gass & CO2
(blue nozzle version aren't recommended to do this)
(tons of after market parts ton to choose from)
cons
>>its older products look glossy
>>not so accurate beyond 30m

KWA
pros
>>accurate
>>great internals
cons
>>not that cheap
(some are pretty expensive actually)
>>proprietary parts
>>can't take CO2

>Yo A&K how long you want your barrel pham?
>>
>>2563924
How long is that, 24"?

I get that it's meant to be an SR25 or AR10 or something, and long barrel in .308 is maximum power, but unless you're doing a proper full length rifle, or a DMR/Sniper kind of rifle, why wouldn't you make the barrel like at least 16" to match the carbine length handguards and "gas system"?
>>
>>2563924
>>2564010
To my knowledge, it's a licensed copy of a civilian rifle, so I imagine the barrel is there to fit through some ATF loophole or something.
>>
>>2564559
That's way past typical length, the ATF only requires 16" for a rifle, that looks like 24" or even 30"

Since I'm a Brit looking at getting into airsoft, do I really need to go and use rental guns or buy a gay two tone one before I can buy one that doesn't look like shit?
>>

For three games, yes.

Unless you have a mate you can borrow one off of.
>>
>>2564619

Actually, adding to that, if you make a friend on site and they actually have a shop, you might well just be able to give your new friend some money so he can buy you the shiny toy of your dreams and gift it to you.

Buy him a pint and a bag of BBs as thanks.

best option is a quick detach, but most of them have a bar running parallel to the grooves in the rail securing them in place like most other accessories, so you have to physically remove and then place back down the item. It's a lot faster than the screws though

Depends on the shopping you chose. If you chose the cheap one like I did, it may take a while.
My order was placed on the 16th and it's still in "Process Shipment", and the estimated arrival time is 10 to 20 business days so expect it to ship in like a week and a half. Also it may or may not get held up in customs after that.
>>
>>2567568
Shipping*.
Fuck.
>>
>>2567568

>>
Question: Should I get that M12 SMG off Evike? I think it looks pretty neat and would be a nice little addition to my collection.
>>
>>2567593
Customs is kind of fickle. Sometimes they'll let a gun through with visible trademarks, and some times they'll send back or seize the gun even if its trademarks are filled in or destroyed.
You should be fine since Ehobby will cover up any obvious trades, but just understand that you play that game whenever ordering anything from overseas; especially so if you're getting a Glock since they've been getting super autistic about that in recent years.
>>
>People responding to the Pasta genuinely

>>2567603
I have one. Mags you can find are all lowcaps unless you can find a second hand MP40 hicap which works with it actually. 7.4 or 11.1 lipos are necessary as its very sluggish otherwise. Range is pretty good and you can lob rounds up to 300 feet. It's all proprietary though so once it breaks you're pretty much fucked. Still very neat and if you are going for this a very big snowflake of a gun.

Looks neat and the price isn't too bad, but the fact that its strictly HPA means I'd have to carry around a tank for what is essentially a secondary in terms of field usefulness. If there was a version which used CO2 I'd be interested, but still nonetheless neat idea.

Also I've tried using Co2 cartridges, you would get about 2 shots per cartridge before they run out.
I could build one that uses Co2 though, would you want one?
>>
I might need a CQB gun.
I considered TM P90, but I would have to grab a few mags, probably new pouches unless M4 ones work well enough, a sling, and v6 parts aren't all that easy to get here, in case something shits the bed.
I also considered Krytac Trident PDW, even though I'm not really into ARs, maybe it's a smarter choice, I've got plenty of mags and what not.
Or I might just stick to using a secondary as a primary and primary as a secondary as I've been doing up until now (Well MP7 AEP).
What do you guys think? What would you get with this budget?
>>
>>2569666
>>2569655
ok great. I kept hearing terrible stuff about airsplat and I was worried that I bought from somewhere with a similar rep
>>
>>2568243
Do you have a place you can buy King Arms MP40 mid caps from? If so I would buy a box of those, if they don't work out of the box I can tell you what to do to make them work.
>>
>>2569906
A dirt cheap mp5k, probably. I have a galaxy one myself.
>>
>>2569928
I don't discredit chink guns, as I run with a JG G36, but I can afford something more expensive, I'm looking at those VFC, G&G and Krytac ARs and I must say I enjoy the look of some of them, like the Wild Hogs or Raiders.
I mostly want something that will just werk outside of the box and have nice externals and enough battery space so I don't need to get a new pack.
>>
>>2569939
Ah fuck it, I'll stick to the Well MP7 and get something else if it dies.
>>
>>2569906
If you want to take a slightly cheaper road P90 wise, I would get the quick change spring version of the King Arms P90. I had a non quick change spring version and I really liked it a lot, very compact, fast magazine changes if you practice a little bit, and the gearbox was incredibly simple not only to remove from the body but to open up and work on it, it was honestly as far as I look at it a modifier's dream. Additionally all the plastic and metal felt really good and sturdy, I think they actually improved upon it slightly with the quick change spring version.

However I'm pretty certain M4 mag pouches won't work with the mags at all, they specifically make P90/UMP magazine pouches for MOLLE that do work and come in really handy with any other stick magazine gun you might have. P90 mags are admittedly pretty long and wide which makes sticking them in any other pouch more of a challenge. Also you may have to buy a "P90 sling", as the holes they provide for their sling are rather small and specific, I'm sure there are smarter people than myself who have figured out additional solutions but I think that's the easiest way to avoid confusion.

Additionally I noticed you said you wanted battery space, and the KA P90 at least, as I believe any other P90 does, has a fairly decent space that will take anything that should fit in your G36C. I know it'll fit most 7.4V Li Pos and any 8.4V bricks.

Don't.
>>
>>2569487
Probably once or twice, but I normally get shot in the neck or forehead if someone is a big enough dick to go for the head.
Having a balaclava or neck gaiter helps to soften the blow too.

>>2570142

>>
>>2570142
Umarex, like Cybergun and ASG, doesn't actually make a single gun and instead just imports trademarked guns that wouldn't make it in otherwise due to firearm companies being autistic about copyrights. That PPQ is made by VFC, who actually makes some really solid pistols; proprietary parts notwithstanding.
>>
>Just learnt you're not supposed to use more than 200-400 psi in the Madbull grenade launchers without some sort of striker buffer.
Sheeeit, I might have fucked my XM108HP a bit, I had to file it down in order for it to reset properly. I've also used like ~700psi on one of my XMPB4s, but only a couple of times and so far it looks okay. Well, I am underwhelmed by the BBrain effect so I guess I can live without the 108hp one (I use it as a last resort in my S-Thunder Pistol GL), Madbull will probably agree to send me just the shell body if I ask nice.
I'll probably use them with like 200psi from now on and stick confetti inside of them for CQB reasons. I'll have to experiment with NERF rockets for outdoor games, but so far no game I attended would require that.

>>
>>2575557
I've had 3. What do you want to know?

I know for sure it works better than the WE, no questions. Stick with the Co2 mags because the GG ones aren't all that great, even after changing the hammer spring.

Also it isn't 100% TM compatible. A lot of aftermarket or OEM TM parts don't fit correctly, the tolerances are either too tight or stuff fits way too loose. I installed an entended thumb safety and extended slide stop and they both fit loose to the point they rattled when I moved the gun around.

Nice little gun if you aren't going to upgrade it. But if you're planning on doing something with it get a TM, or even better, some kind of 2011 model.
>>
>>2575609
It's gonna be most likely a holster queen with the occasional corner/room clearing so I'm not concerned about it being a high performance racegun, so stock is probably how it'll stay. I was more interested in it not braking after a year and having decent enough accuracy up to say 50ish feet.

I don't take it too seriously. I just said don't do it to someone who was asking if he should. It's the exact kind of autism within a group...it's hard to explain. You're already buying expensive toys to sling plastic balls at somebody. You don't need to insert your own, "hey, this is unique and looks ugly, but I'm going to do it because I'm a special snowflake and my friends will laugh once!" thing that every hobby has. Why needlessly make yourself stand out within a group of people who are most likely already outcasts for the niche hobby they're into? You do you, ultimately my opinion means nothing. I think a cat face balaclava is a waste of money for the novelty it provides. The dude asked on the internet, he's going to get some opinions that don't line up with his.

>>wearing animal print makes you a furfag
>>hundreds of planes with shark mouth

Okay, this is a stretch, and even you have to admit it. It's not like planes and humans are the same, unless I'm missing something. Shark mouths on planes is sort of a military tradition, right? Is it truly comparable to a cat face balaclava?

>>2575949
This wasn't me, and I agree with you. Not saying all people who have cat balaclavas are furfags, but in this day and age it's a pretty normal assumption to make given the circumstance.

I can see how someone might think: Military wannabe hobby with tryhards? How can I fit my love for fucking anthropomorphized dogs into this? Cat balaclava.

>>2575970
>Glad you took the time to pull that stat out of your ass.
But...okay. You're right. Not everyone who dresses like a furfag is a furfag, I'll give you that one. It wasn't my stat, but I agreed with the statement.

I don't know; maybe it's buyer's remorse or a placebo effect?
The loudness is based off of how much air is being moved. Maybe if you used a larger gearbox or something it could be louder, but I'm not sure how sticking a muzzle device would make a difference if nothing else was changed.
>>

$100 to be able to wirelessly program every setting you could ever think from your phone is hardly over priced especially when competitors products are the same price with lower reliability and no wireless connectivity.

>>
>>2576216
It isn't that no one can disagree because that is fine, but the first response was that the idea was completely idiotic which I disagree with. I base this on two points: 1)Shark mouth is just one example of the widespread use of animal representation in actual militaries. It isn't directly on the soldier, but it isn't like units don't have amusing animal related patches. The point being that animal stuff isn't uncommon. You also have Vietnam era helmets with phrases or drawings that amused the soldier. Making something your own isn't uncommon in the military when they can get away with it. 2) airsoft fashion even at its best is pretty cringe so doesn't make sense to blast an idea for being embarrassing when the best available option isn't much better.

That's it. Disagree if you like, but the difference between that idea and the average is pretty small

>The point being that animal stuff isn't uncommon.

I wasn't arguing that. I get that soldiers might paint their planes or guns however they want when they can. But you understand that your green-text about pilots being furfags also when they have faces painted on their planes vs someone who would wear a cat-faced balaclava isn't fair, right? Putting a shark face on a plane and a cat face over your own face are two separate things, joined only by the shared word, "face". You would call someone wearing a cat face a furfag because by description furfags wear...furfaggy stuff, like said balaclava. While you would call a pilot who drew a shark on his jet just a plain old faggot. (Plus, I'm not sure dressing as a shark counts as being a furfag, more of a finfag thing).

When I said "don't be a fucking idiot" I really just meant "don't be unique for the sake of being unique". Everything about wanting a cat-faced balaclava just screams "look at how funny and random I am, please think I'm somewhat interesting". I'm not saying do a straight military impression, or keep it somewhat serious. I've said do whatever yall want. Just giving my opinion.

>doesn't make sense to blast an idea for being embarrassing when the best available option isn't much better.

He posted here asking if he should, and I told him he shouldn't, and why I think he shouldn't. That's all that happened! Airsoft in general is cringe, yes. I can't argue that at all. But what's the point in going out of your way to make it MORE cringe?
>>
>>2575536
Barrel and bucking my guy
>>
>>2576505
Cat face =/= airplane looking like a shark. Jesus christ are you retarded?
>>
>>2576654
It isn't a perfect comparison, because soldiers don't have time/energy to repaint their faces every day or the freedom/desire to order a special face cover, so using a direct connection between irl soldiers and the cat face isn't going to work. That is why I added the part about GI helmets, which were customized for the soldier's amusement (do you think Vietnam GI were special snowflakes?). Clearly soldiers have, and still do like to customize their look (if they can and it is convenient), and they often go for something that makes them laugh so what exactly is the problem here?

But at the same time you are right that furfags like to have animal faces. I just don't think that that is exactly the same here, but everyone has their gut instinct about what they see

>>
>>2576854

>>
>>2576869
No, its because you're completely dismissing everyone who disagrees with you that has a valid opinion on the subject as being retarded or having a stupid opinion. Wearing unicorn shit will make you out-autism the rest of the people you call autistic or fashion oriented. You can call camo and shit autistic but its the normal in airsoft. Snowflaking even in an autistic hobby is still snowflaking.
>>
>>2576753
>Jesus christ are you retarded?
I was saying exactly "Cat face balaclava(ON A HUMAN) =/= airplane looking like a shark". The comparison he put fourth by saying in greentext "Guess all the pilots with sharks on their jets are furfags too" isn't a fair comparison to putting a cat-face over your face(because as stated, one is a thing soldiers might do and the other is something you would believe a typical furfag to do).

>so what exactly is the problem here?
You were the one who came in and criticized my opinion on his choice of 'clava. I'm not sure if there even is a problem. I was just saying he shouldn't get it because it sucks. You came back with "well everyone else dresses like a faggot, so why not him as well?" While a fair point, it doesn't make my first statement moot.

>Not as retarded as someone trying preserve the dignity of airsoft fashion like you lmao
You may be confusing some people in this thread.

I never said there was dignity in airsoft costumes, nor was I arguing that there was. I said don't do it because it won't be "awesome" or "randumb", which seems to be the only goal(other than looking like you have a cat's face) that comes from buying a cat-faced balaclava. Why act autistic when you don't have to, kind of thing. Why go out of your way to be a faggot, when you're already in a 'sport' full of faggots.

And now I am book ending it, again, by saying do whatever. But you're going to look like a faggot if you have a cats face.
>>

>>
I think most but not all people with loads of military gear like collecting it and airsoft is an excuse to buy it.
>>
>>2576984
This is how I feel. I like owning milsurp, but this is my only excuse to wear it
>>

Now that you mention it, if you slap some wood on top of it and maybe use CO2 12g cartridges it could work as a Contender G1/G2

Depends entirely on the team.
Most around here require you to throw out all of your gear and buy Multicam or Attacks-fag or some other shit colored vest and bdus if you want to join them and then you're on PROBATION.
I always have second thoughts when a large group wants to enter a sunday skirmish. Those guys never split-up, never let go of their carefully crafted cookie-cutter 500FPS ARs, they simply adore pub-stomping so it's not really fun on either side, and to top it off they still act high and mighty and reverse hit-call and usually don't call their hits because it would spoil their tactics.
They usually have this attitude
>Bruhhhh, this game sucks, I wish I was playing MilSim instead.
>Bruuuhh, look at those kids, let's act like dicks and teamkill them because this game is OH SO LAAAMEE
>Bruh, what do you mean you don't run 12 hi-caps? It's a sunday skirmish, why bother
>Fuck game, let's take photos in the middle of it.
Also rich kids trigger the fuck out of me. I hate them. I hate them all. Luckily they're easy to avoid if you play games with some mag/FPS/weapon limits or a scenario that won't render them an instant victory if they sit their fucking asses in a trench on a hill and spray everywhere.
>>
>>2575913

Anyone run grenades? Never felt like buying into the finicky thunder-b craze but pic related seems pretty handy. My local indoor field uses a 20 foot kill radius around any grenade that goes bang so these are pretty useful, had someone land one right at my feet and they are pretty loud.

The point I was making is that no matter how you cut it, airsoft is still dress up an pretend.

Whether someone goes full retard and goes down the impression loadout route or goes casual, we're all spending our weekend running round a forest shooting each other with toy guns. Nobody really has the moral high ground.
>>
>>2580309
Shit, this thread is depressing. What can be more normie than playing pretend in the woods? Niggas played pretend in the woods before there were words for "pretend" and "woods". Stop being a Debbie downer. In other news, elite force smoke wagon. Anyone bought one yet? I'm really hoping someone puts out a gas lever action that don't fire at some ungodly muzzle velocity so I can actually use it at the OK corral. A full eastern load out would be fun as fuck. There's something worth LARPing over.

If it's folded over and worn covering the mouth, then getting shot at distance (or even relatively close up) isn't going to damage your teeth.

But it's not really breathable, and fogging becomes an issue, so it's not practicable as mouth protection.

generally speaking should i shy away from memeguns like WWII shit or obscure guns? it seems like the market is pretty much dominiated by AKs, HKshit and ARs.

>>
>>2581813
>I really want a Walther MPL

Fuck man so do I, so fucking bad. The only choices so far as that goes are incredibly bad for skirmishing, a springer which I suppose you might be able to fit a gearbox into, honestly if I was able to get one into my country I might try it, or a gas blowback one with fake shells, which is a pain in the ass.

As for WW2 shit and obscure guns, the biggest problems you'll likely face is fixing them, as the more obscure the more proprietary things get. Buying upgrade parts is also difficult as well in some cases, so that has to be kept in mind. However I have a plethora of old school guns as they are my favourites, and as far as playing games with them yeah, perhaps they won't be as good as all the fully upgraded AR's with optics and lasers and all that shit but they still get the job done, and are fun to game with. I used an AGM MP40 un-upgraded at my last game and got my fair share of kills and had a good time and have used their Sten in the past.

The way I look at it is, if you want the best of the best, stick with the AR and perhaps the AK line as they have the most aftermarket upgrade options and have loads of others' field experience to draw off of. However if you're like me, buy guns you love that aren't total pieces of shit/hot messes internally and simply accept the fact that you'll have to adapt to their limitations. I honestly find that more interesting and fun than just getting the best of the best airsoft guns and using those, especially if I don't like them, though of course there's nothing wrong with doing that. It's mainly up to what you want to do and your approach to airsoft.
>>
>>2581632
Strange how my CQB field with a limit of 410, and getting shot in my shemagh plenty of times over the years, has never once damaged by teeth.

So I've got my gun and gear on the way, and I've read the newbie pastebin. Is there a guide or something on how not to be a shitkid at airsoft?

I'm looking for something that will get me up to speed on field etiquette, basic tactics, mistakes newbies usually make, etc. I've seen some stuff thrown around in various places about hating on "speedsofting" and milsim spergs freaking out over the smallest shit.

So where do I go to learn the mindset of a good player?

Apologies for the real steel pic. It's all I've got, since my thread-relevant gear hasn't arrived yet.

>>
>>2584368
Just play a Saturday public match and have fun. Seriously, the number one rule is to remember you're there for a good time. Be friendly, don't get into arguments. Second rule, call your hits. If a bb hits you then call it, doesn't matter how hard or soft. Lastly, be safe. Practice trigger discipline, don't load in safe areas, keep your goggles on, and make sure everyone around you is being safe. Ever heard the expression "everyone is a range officer". Same thing applies.

Is there a decent EBB rifle that has a bolt lock and stops firing when the mag runs dry? I'd love to have something that runs the same as my real steel but I don't want to deal with the issues of running gas.
>>
>>2584707
Marui Recoil Shocks are your only option. If you don't care about EBB, you could also get an A&K or G&D PTW clone.
>>
>>2584722
The bolt locking and having to actually "chamber" a round on reloads are what I'm looking for.
>>
>>2584757
No EBB guns do this since that's an invitation to getting dirt into the gearbox.
>>
>>2584761
Seems like a missed opportunity. There are plenty of ways to simulate an open bolt that don't actually lead to the gearbox having a hole open to the elements. I just want my reloads to be more than slap in the mag and go. I'm thinking some kind of cut off follower that could shut down the motor until the charging handle is racked. Use a digital misfit design and a megnetic sensor in the handle and in the magazine, when the follower reaches the sensor it just stops running the motor. Run the charging handle to turn it back on. If you run normal magazines it would just act like a regular AEG.
>>
>>2584775
That's how Recoil Shock and PTWs work, you just don't get the bolt action going on.
Both have cutoffs in the magazines that effectively shut off the gun until you insert a new mag and hit the bolt release.
>>
>>2584775
Thinking about it a bit more, it seems like it would be possible to fit another spring and motor system in the buffer tube of an AR to both simulate recoil and allow a "bolt" to travel along the outside of the gear box inside the dust cover. When the magnetic sensor is tripped by an empty mag it would cause the buffer to lock to the rear. While the buffer is locked to the rear the gun would be digitally prevented from firing, requiring either releasing the bolt or racking the handle.
