Hey /asp/,

I've been thinking of getting a CYMA AKM (CM048M) as my first AEG with the intention of having it last a long time, as in being my only AEG (because airsoft purchasing is a tricky issue in my country).

My question is, what parts of the rifle are weak in construction or made out of pot metal? This worries me since I got military training and I might treat the rifle as if it is real steel.

afaik the slanted flash hider and the adjustable rear sight are pot metal.

So far, this is what I got on my to-buy/order list: (names taken straight from ehobbyasia)

I had one and loved it. The front sight (not the post the whole thing) and the gas block are made of pot metal and not secured well. Take a really thin superglue and just apply a small coat behind them.

They also develope pretty bad barrel wobble there's a few ways to fix that, I'm sure you'll figure it out. I did the glue method, but there are a few ways.

I used a venom 11.1 lipo in mine. It shot about 23 a second at 430 fps. I miss it. I might have pictures In my old phone. I'll have a look.

For a charger I used a traxxas lipo charger. I now use a venom charger because some fuckhead little shit broke my traxxas one.

In my opinion, the cyma Ak's are the best bang for your buck. Great internals on them. The lct and e&l have better externals, but I can't comment on their internals as I don't have much experience with them.

I know for a fact e&l top wired Ak's are a bitch to find a lipo that fits other than a stick 7.4.

why do some companies make molle obnoxiously difficult to thread.

normal molle is pretty fine with a stiff popper or tuck tab. There's no need to have a piece of plastic in between 2 bits of cordura that's the exact length of the pouch. It makes it totally unwieldy and a pain in the ass to flex between rows.

The stock is just fine but it doesn't go well aesthetically with your rifle, and there are lighter just as comhpier stocks out there.

Replica optics only " don't zero properly " if they are extremely cheap. The average $60, 40 or 20 red dot will zero in just fine and hold it just fine since it's a AEG.

Just got into airsoft with a cyma cm031 (AK-74).

What would you guys suggest I do with it besides a better battery than the one included to make it more viable when I'm up against people with super duper tacticool ARs and shit?

It's pretty nice, shoots alright after messing around with the hop, just not sure what to do next after getting my first gun.

It depends on the field, if we are talking indoor you'll be just fine. It's going to take some skill due to being at a objective disadvantage at times when it comes to outdoor, but you'll definitely still be able to compete just fine, plenty of dudes with gimped or beginner stuff outplay hardcore players all the time.
For instance, I use this GBBR which takes 20 rounds inside the magazine inside a field which has jacked up CQB builds with insane trigger response and ROFs through the roof with 100+ round mags and I have gone on some serious streaks.
If the mag you have now isn't a hicap, get more midcap mags, a steel mouth and a pair of good goggles.

I was pretty much a babysitter for 40+ people between the ages of 10-15 on Saturdays for 12 hours by myself, during the winter had to waste my day for 2-8 people on Sunday, stupid fucks destroy shit and you get blamed for it, if and when all the rentals are either being used or are broken, you'll be expected to let people use your shit, in which case it will be broken and destroyed by the cancerous player base. You can avoid this by not bringing your stuff, but then you can't play, if you have the slight window to do so. Sure, you get to play for free, but you never have time between the babysitting, trying to make sure everything is running smoothly, and sorting out the bitching players and their issues. By the end of the day / night you'll be tasked with cleaning the ocean of bbs in the setup area.

Long and short, you'll waste your whole weekend and not be able to have fun with the hobby / sport, and on the time you do have free, you won't even want to look at another bb or gun.

I was working by myself 99% of the time. It's more bearable with 2 or more people there carrying the cross.

Friday was the only day I didn't mind, because it was mostly older people 17-30 that would come, and the regulars would help with some of the things.
