Humanity suddenly gets annihilated and the world's surface becomes uninhabitable. Other races manage to survive on floating islands. 500 years later the MC is found by some surface scavengers, frozen inside a crystal. He's a war hero from the previous war and is supposedly the only human alive.
MC is put in charge of what seems to be an orphanage where lolis have to fight off surface beast occasionally attacking the islands.
