Except for maybe Kanto and Orange League, the anime has always been boring.

At one point, all episodes not gym-related had the same stupid routine: Stumble upon someone who has a problem, volunteer to help, team rocket gets in the way, but get their asses kicked, solve problem, return to traveling.

At one point, I dropped it, came back to watch a league, saw Ash lose as usual, then dropped it again.

Then I went years forgetting it even existed. When I heard it seemed Ash was truly, truly about to win a league for fucking real this time (he had all this momentum, a special mega pokemon no one has seen in thousands of years who beat Diantha's Mega Gardevoir, a powerful team) I came back.

Never again.

Conkeldurr switching to guts when statused would be great

Assuming you can switch abilities at the start of the turn and then attack as normal:
- Azumarill could switch into a Grass attack for a free +1 Attack and then switch to Huge Power or force mind games against stuff like Tangrowth
- Intimidate users would be cancerous because you get -1 Attack every other turn
- Pelipper can lead with Drizzle and then switch to Rain Dish for extra recovery
- Porygon-Z can keep swapping between Download and Adaptability for extra boosts and stronger STAB
- Magnezone might not always lose to Dugtrio since it can switch to Sturdy once it comes in
- Probably some sort of gimmicky Calm Mind/Coil Serperior set but I don't think that would work very well
- Hippowdon, like Pelipper, could start a sandstorm and then switch to Sand Force for extra power
- Greninja can transform when he needs to, or run Protean just for you

Really, it wouldn't be worth it in most circumstances; there would be a few meme strats, though.
