Mining is entirely optional unless the story takes you there. It's how you get talismans, but talismans aren't at all necessary to play the game and you get some from side missions and challenges anyway. But they're pretty neat to collect and try and make good ones when you can fuse them.

Strange Gravitational Phenomena means a boss enemy is there, there's a trophy for beating that boss in each of the five mining sites. If it says there's a Gravity Storm that means you can go to the Mining Trench through a portal in the mine, which is something of an endurance challenge, and there's a trophy for getting to the third layer there.

P4 scoring well is fucking beyond me; Garbage gameplay and mediocre story and cast.
But P5 scoring well doesn't surprise me one bit, it has the best dungeons I've played in a JRPG period, an actually likeable and well developed cast, and a fucking good story. Throw in a great soundtrack, fantastic art direction, and the ability to maintain its quality for 100 hours, and you've got a solid 94.

Second son is a fairly easy plat. The only "grindy" trophy in that game is that you have to beat it with the good and bad ending, which means it takes 2 playthroughs. The game itself isn't very long though, so maybe 20-25 hours total?

Wew, Berseria was pretty gud. I loved Eizen and Magilou as characters the most by far. Played as Laphicet because I'm a goddamn snowflake, but I feel Velvet or Eizen would've been more fun to play as. Bright shade, bright shade, kaleidos ray!
Gameplay is 10/10, story was ok, music and dungeons were pretty weak sadly. Still, good stuff. Last game I played was the trash that was DotNW.
Velvet totally wanted the Laphicet D.

On Route C in Nier, like it a lot more than that snooze fest that was Route B and punchable face 9S protag. I see the appeal in the game. Very strong gameplay, story. Music got old quick imo. Only thing I dislike about the story itself is it tries too much with the plot twists. Very fun game though.

There's two types of coop.

"Random encounters" where the host uses an ochoko cup to summon a phantom and they go through the level together to beat the boss. Only a host can rest at shrines and open most chests and doors, but the phantom still gets the loot.

Yokai realm with a companion is where two players go through the whole level together with a shared lifebar that goes down when somebody dies. The other person can revive a downed player. If both players die at the same time, the mission fails. There's also increased enemies in some parts.

They are worse. And not only because the VA are not good. It's something on a technical level. Like some of the characters are either too close to their microphone or they used a very shitty one. Especially the two lolis who usually shout at you are so badly recorded that their voice distorts at some points, most of the higher pitched voices have a lisp or it's just some static mixed in. I don't know how to even do that. First game was pretty niche. Automata only got attention because of Platinum. They're 3rd person action games with light rpg elements that also like to mix elements from other genres for fun. Like side scrolling and bullet hells. They're mostly renowned for their story and musical scores honestly. Gameplay in the first Nier was basic and bland. Automata was much better in that regard with Platinum helping. Although honestly Automata isn't really balanced around the combat system that well but it's certainly more fun than the original was.

Shield plus staff is the best for any play through specially on proud since you want those extra hits to save your ass, you get OP abilities like once more or second chance earlier as well.

Also you can grind in Destiny Islands up to level 20+ since you get double EXP twice super early.

Staff plus sword or shield is good if you want magic and melee balance also you get most good abilities in the 50s and early MP rage which is good.

Sword plus anything is suicide on Proud, have fun grinding kek

I've been playing farcry primal for days and i have no idea what the fuck do i have to do, is this how all open world games are or did i get a bug?

I already got my owl from the guy who drugged me and tamed some wolf to kill cavemen with it but he got killed in seconds and i don't have any red herbs to heal him so i went gathering materials to almost fully upgrade my lance and raid some caves for fun, now i already own half of them, the problem is that the the main plot doesn't advance, there are no markers on the map besides optional stuff and after all the sidequests, random rescues and raided caves i have 16 ability points that i can't spend because i need to meet more fucking people for those abilities to unlock, what am i even supposed to do? The game got old already, i feel robbed, those 23 freedom tickets could've been spent on a better game.

P5 really isn't well suited to an anime honestly. P4 was struggling to fit its story into 24 episodes, and it has huge stretches of nothing throughout, while P5's pacing is pretty much non-stop shit happening.
Not to mention they can't just gloss over dungeons like they could in P4, since actual story happens through them instead of just at the end. All signs point towards a hypothetical P5 anime being straight garbage.
The anime special was decent though, and it's worth watching prior to playing the game for a nice surprise in the game itself.
