Let's have another one of these threads

My best one
videogames are finally an art form
>Literally designed putting together spreadsheets
>Still better in the majority of games than purpose built hardware like console controllers
How did this happen?
>unskippable credits
>not sitting through them as a sign of respect to the people who worked hard on them
>unskippable credits
>alt tabbing pauses them
>there's a scene after the credits
>>385068404
>unskippale cut-scenes
What games feature quicksand and similar sinking hazards?

Also for some reason women being stuck in extremely viscous things gets me turgid.

Why does nintendo keep forcing stupid suffixes as game titles and why was the Gamecube, the only good Nintendo platform, exempt from it? You never saw a "Mario cube" 'Zelda cube" "Pokemon cube"
>>385068352
I liked the Super suffix though, I even like the 64 suffix.
>>385068352
The NES was the standard for the early titles and all consoles after it built off of the original. Likewise, the gamecube became the standard for a new generation of nintendo games so all the games after had to be differentiated from the new standard somehow
>>385068352
switch doesnt have any suffixes tho
There is no other opinion on Edmund's games. THIS is the absolute truth.

So how did Afterbirth+ ruin Binding of Isaac?
>>385068342
I bought super meat boy back when it was released for my birthday with some points I got and I remember getting so fucking into it that I played it for hours every day and entire weekends sometimes I didn't sleep just kept playing and the song loop was heard around my house pretty much 24/7
I got pretty fucking close to 100% the get, I got massive pain in my hands because I had to use claw fingers to press the run and jump button at the same time
>That feeling when you become so good at the game you can bypass entire segments of a level by managing to jump higher than you are supposed to and squeeze through a tiny hole
Does /v/ like Club Penguin? Do you play Rewritten?
My favorite game of all time desu, so much memories
I even had a gf there

I wish I was a fast enough typer to talk to people.

So what millenials want in a multiplayer game is a big open space, bare bones functionality and tons of downtime to engage in "looting", then short bursts of action that is almost completely luck and/or camping based, only without good gunplay or netcode.
It's some kind of a LARPing experience fueled by facecam people, right? Didn't popularity of DayZ as opposed to Left 4 Dead prove that consumers don't care about level design, encounter design, gameplay, setpieces, just a huge map with nothing to do other than spend ~15 minutes "exploring" empty barns before getting blindsided?
It's... atmospheric for them? What is it?
Yeah
>>385068309
Do you personally find it has good atmosphere?
I started this thread because I was playing UT2004 against bots and felt sad. All that gunplay variety, fantastic movement, outstanding level design and nobody would care about it today. I never thought video games going mainstream would mean encountering a dark age of design.
"2K had a really good season this past year, but it was, for the company, still relatively thin. And it didn't help that Battleborn wasn't a big success. So part of it is the level of success, part of it is the schedule, and part of it is finding the human resources to actually take the intellectual property that we own and bring them to market. Those are an array of challenges, juxtaposed against the uncertainty of how long it takes to make a AAA title, which means we can find ourselves in fiscal 2018 with a much thinner schedule than we'd like.
"But it wasn't intentional, and obviously fiscal 2019 will look much better with the launch of Red Dead 2 and a huge new title from 2K, as well as the 2K Sports titles, catalogue, recurrent consumer spending, NBA2K Online in China, Social Point and the like. We've already said that fiscal 2019, which isn't that far away, is $2.5bn net sales minimum, £700m cash flow from our operations minimum... that's pretty consequential.
"We are moving in the direction of that goal, David has outlined his five-year plan that will get us part way there. Obviously we know what Rockstar tends to do. And Rockstar's activities have been transformed by Grand Theft Auto Online."

>And Rockstar's activities have been transformed by Grand Theft Auto
NIGGER!
I don't normally use racial slurs as generic insults, but I'll make an exception
NIGGER!
So this means GTAVI will basically be prep for GTAOnline?
NIGGER!
>>385068809
yes
Every Rockstar game from here on out will be a shitty korean MMO, this should be a surprise to no one. You people made this happen by buying GTAV and praising it to high heaven despite it being a shitty compromise between the priorities of GTA4 and SA, combining the worst qualities of each.
Is this a coincidence? Or a cultural trait?
Do you think console/PC gaming will still be a thing 10 - 20 years from now, or will everything be VR/AR-ified?
it is going to be something like a cellphone you carry around and put into a dock and it will be both your cellphone, main computer and console.
What´s the vidya equivalent of this?
>>385068047
Dragon Age was inspired by it but sadly no game has as many factions fighting for a throne with political and economic factors.

Why is this Kong in chains?
>>385067939
He has no freedom
He has no time
This Kong must atone for his crimes
sometimes the good guys get caught by the bad guys
>>385068038
>He has no time
What did he mean by this
What the he'll is wrong with yuropoors, rooskis, and aussies /v/?
>join online game
>see players from said regions
>turn on game chat
>instantly bombarded with insults for no reason
>try to reason with these people
