Hands down the best in Dunkirk. I am completely serious. I don't know if it was his greatest role but he stole the show for me. I wish the movie were only about him flying around.

Like WW2 fighter plane Locke. None of the grandure and epic scale but a restrained sense of one guy playing a small role a huge event.

Ok, So I have been against owning physically media and have been pirate shit since the days of bearshare.

I still feel that IP laws are fucking bullshit and piracy is a crime, but lately, I have been buying blurays. Their really is something to holding your favorite movie, watching extra features, commentary tracks. I'm still going to pirate, but I want to own physically copies of certain movies that I truly love. Anyone else feel this way?

What are some good blurays that are worth getting? Where is the cheapest place to buy them half.com? So far my collection is weak as shit and I won't include dvds.

LOTR extended edition
LOTR theatrical.
Spiderman 1,2,3
Goodfellas
Casino
Dune

The films you like, maybe? Idiot.
>>

Well, some movies have bad bluray releases. Take for example, Predator.

Also, some movies really benefit from having good visuals, I would never get dumb and dumber or kingpin on bluray, they don't need to look good. I got Dune on bluray because that movies is very flawed, but is visually interesting.

You should look into some true kino. Literally. Kino, Criterion, Scream Factory and Arrow are all great labels.

You know, anon, that's a really funny way of saying "in the last twenty years since the Internet became accessible to just about everybody, we have worked mercilessly to find out what you probably knew but didn't want to address - that the Rothschild Family, George Soros, David Rockefeller and a host of other soulless individuals have been working non-stop for the last 250 years, from generation to generation, to destroy every non-Jew on this planet and create a paradise for themselves, and themselves only."

I'm pretty sure that's what you meant, right? Right?

Pro-tip, sonny. There's no "middle ground" anymore. They control the banks. They control the media. They control your "entertainment" that you talk about here on /tv/. They control everything and use unethical and immoral means to continue controlling it.

You're with them, or you're with us. Take the /pol/ pill. We have a cosy fire and marshmallows!

Mixed feelings here.

Pros
>practical effects
>cinematography
>minimal dialogue
>all white/male cast

Cons
>rushed and short
>no narrative flow, just disconnected scenes that happen one after the other
>the few lines of dialogue are terrible, Nolan and his brother can't write for shit
>soundtrack is terrible
>uneventful in general
>>
Convince me I'm wrong.

Didn't like how the movie's plotline was in anachronic order. I like a good amount of movies with this style and it could have easily worked in Dunkirk's favor but Nolan went about it really sloppily and disconnected.

Dunkirk is about as far as you can get from a character drama. The setting is the main character and the characters are just part of the backdrop. Once again, I don't think this is necessarily a bad way of going about directing a movie, I love non-traditional story telling forms, but the way Dunkirk handled the characters (that is: bland and unmemorable) annoyed me. I would have felt the tension all the scenes tried to build if I cared for any of these characters at all.

Nolan doesn't seem to understand that silence itself is a noise. There's so many loud and headache-inducing noises. It is okay in small dosages, but the soundtrack never stops. I don't mind the planes and gunshots being loud and terrifying, but what the fuck is up with all these Hans Zimmer BOOMS.

Why does the US version of this show feel so fake? There's always some kind of drama and all the owners feel like arguing with Ramsay instead of taking his advice. Everything just feels forced and unnatural.

Anyone else notice this in every episode
>Ramsay asks waiter what he/she recommends
>"Honestly senpai, it's all fucking garbage. I could go dumpster diving out back with a plate and thatd be more tolerable."
>Then they try the food with him and agree it's bad
What's with all these servers who have a vendetta against the managers
>>
>>85733261
I've watched both versions and the differences I've noticed are mostly due to the people they choose and the soundtrack. The us version gets mentally ill weirdos while the UK version goes for normal people stuck in a rut. Ramsey acts way more excitable in the US version but he's exactly as confrontational, just more screamy. The soundtrack is overbearing as well. The US version focuses on the wackiness of the restaurant staff while the UK version seems to focus on the business itself. I like both versions but the UK version is definitely the more "real" one. A little less entertaining.
