What powered Voyager's holodecks? They often talked about Voyager's hologrid as an "independent subsystem", but they never showed what generated the power, like an ore processor or whatever. And those episodes where main power is offline but the holoprojectors are still operational or vice versa show the power systems to be incompatible, as otherwise they could share and ration energy by using transformers to convert the differing voltages and the system wouldn't be, as stated, offline.

Who would win in a fight between Silver Surfer and Hank Hill?
Retarded question but I'll answer.
Hank easily

I just realised he didn't like sand because his home planet was sandy and he had bad memories of that place. Holy fuck
>>85847493
You grew up around that time and there's no PC bullshit like there is today.
>>85847547
You're clinically retarded. People meme about that line because it's so blatantly contrived and obvious, like Lucas' botched attempt at a Shakespeare metaphor.
Was he a bad Superman? I thought he looked the part, in so much as he kind of looked like Reeves, but apparently, his movie was shit.
>>85847447
He was a decent stand-in for Reeve, but the movie and the characterization was a bit off. He came off as sort of stalker-ish and creepy.
>>85847695
I also thought Bosworth was a bad Lois.
He was a bit too baby faced at the time. Good for a young Superman, but he was supposed to be Christopher Reeve after Superman II. He would be better in the role today than he was at the time, actually. Too bad he got cast as the Atom before they decided Superman would appear in the Supergirl show.
What's /tv/ opinion on trainspotting?
and is the 2nd any good?
>>85847415
Good film, Danny Boyle is based
2nd is awesome, the ending credits is meant to enter in the history of cinema
>>85847415
It was good, but it did not have the darkness that the original had.

Excited for the new take on Godzilla, not really excited for subpar animation.
/tv/ I want you guys to help me understand film as a medium.
Over the last few years my only exposure to a more academic or in-depth look at movies has been through video essays and while I find that stuff interesting and fun I want to be able to pull those observarions and conclusions on my own.
I read a bit of this book after picking it up from the library on a whim, but it felt like I was getting ahead of myself.
What are some recommended films, shows, documentaries, books, youtube channels or other materials that are good for learning about the medium?
>>85847068
I have the exact same thoughts about this as you
just be yourself
>>85848255
This, OP. You have to learn to just bee yourself. Movies like guys with confidence, if the film sees that you are comfortable in your own skin, it will naturally respond to that and be attracted to it.
Why did no one in LOTR become huge stars? (Except for Gandalf who was already a big star.)
>>85846897
They were too good for this world
Most of them had no interest in being huge A-list stars. They're acting nerds who just enjoy the work.
>>85846897
Orlando Bloom did starring roles and many large films. Ian McKellen became much much bigger, x-men likely helped too. Elijah Wood takes projects he likes and has fun, and seems to enjoy voice work. Viggo is very picky and doesn't seem to enjoy fame.Jon Rhyes davies is more famous outside of being a dwarf. One hobbit was on a hit show, Lost. Liz tyler broke free of being a sex object and being her dads daughter. Cate became huge. Christopher lee had a resurgence, but also cause of star wars. Sean Bean became an icon and went on to do many large projects.
And Andy Serkis despite not having his face in the film has gone on to do mo-cap and acting roles for many major films.
so, fuck you OP, you're really wrong.
Why is Sandler allowed to just give his friends money through the creation of intentionally no effort shitty films?
Because Sony is run by asshats

Can you guys stop discussing capeshit and Rick and Morty to appreciate this coming of age indie kino?
How can there be coming of age films in a society where perpetual childhood is the norm? Nobody comes of age anymore.
torrent when
I dunno, anons. I think I preferred the simple arcade style of Dark Times. Super Dark Times just has you checking every single pipe for secrets because they all look the same, and fire flowers are overpowered.
