So how exactly do you add two irrational numbers?
>>8909256
you become irrational and you start adding numbers
what representation of the irrationals do you want to work with? if cauchy sequences you just add them component wise
Pi, e

No, the video you link to is a scam. Patrick Moore is not even a scientist. Yes, simply the title of the video is a lie, as is every word out of his mouth.

I am sorry if this question is extremely stupid. But I just don't get how a repeating number is actually real, or can exist. I just don't see what purpose it serves. It seems impossible to have .3333333..... of something. If you have a pie, and split it into three pieces, each piece is 1/3. It's not .3333....of a pie. It's 1/3 of a pie. Mathematically they may be the same, but 1/3 is actually something that can exists, but its decimal representation cannot exist. What does this mean, exactly?
>>8907671
shut the fuck up
>>8907671
>If you have a pie, and split it into three pieces, each piece is 1/3
Completely wrong. There is an integer number of atoms in a pie, so in most cases it won't be divisible by three.
Also, numbers don't have to follow rules of physics.
Also, shut the fuck up.

At what point in the future of Earth will the English language die out?
Would everyone be speaking completely different languages in 1000 years time? If not, then what about a million years time?
Obviously there's no real answer, would appreciate educated guesses though!
>>8911191
We can't even make guesses. Right now there are no indications that it can die out, and even if something happens in the future, with our rates of globalization it will just give way to another world language. I guess if we sent colonists to another solar system then their language would eventually diverge from ours.
>>8911191
>At what point in the future of Earth will the English language die out?
when people stop using it
good luck with that
