>tfw Hip Hop is more relevant than rock music and will be forever

Good.
Rock rant its course over 10 years ago.
Hip Hop is more ambitious now.
Go back to playing Tony Hawk on your PS2.
You are about 10 years too late to this revelation
>will be forever
it'll only be relevant until the next BIG genre hits, you dumb frog poster

1) add scruffy's ratings of your 10 favourite albums to work out your scaruffi score (if he hasn't rated one of them just skip it)
2) post your scores
>i got 70/100 (although i had to skip a couple of albums he hadn't rated)
this is fun
61/90
no v:c:d review =[
78/100
Three albums Scaruffi rated a 9.0 really add up quickly
91.5/100
it's tough being so patrish
It's that time again?!

Today, the dematerialization of instruments and production tools made everything easier for the musicians. You can do without spending a buck what people used to do spending tens of thousands of dollars twenty years ago.
Plugs and DAWs make the possibilities infinite, but most people just come up with the stupidest song entirely based on a 16/32 bars pattern.
Why is everybody so lazy? Why the abundance of Dance Music?

end this
Why are good snare samples so hard to find? I have loads of bass drums, toms and hi hats that are ok.
And dont tell me to layer
Does anybody else own multiple records but not a record player?
I don't even know why I bought the DAMN. and King Gizzard records to be honest, but as soon as I noticed the ITCOTCK record and saw that it was an original 1969 printing from the UK, I knew I had to get it.
I don't want to get the LP-60, and I'm just waiting until the LP-120 is worth the purchase.

>as soon as I noticed the ITCOTCK record and saw that it was an original 1969 printing from the UK
Why do people care so much about this?
It doesn't make it worth much more unless it was pressed in very limited quantities.
>>74642534
Basically you're just a cunt pretty much
>>74642534
For me, it's my favorite album of all time, and to be able to own a proper original pressing is pretty cool I reckon. I get to own a piece of music history, something that's existed for 48 years and made its way through multiple countries (I found my copy in Tokyo), and now it's in my hands.

Wtf! I fell for the meme and it's actually good. It's like Brand New with trap beats
it's a slow burn, definitely more mature than their previous albums.
wasn't really sure what to think after the first listen, but after the third listen it's either on par with TDAG or better
>>74632539
Need to listen through more.
Listened to it straight through with some nice headphones and I really liked it. I can definitely see it growing on me
Does anyone know any more albums of this kind of weird twitchy fun post punk/new wave?

Scaruffi's opinions seem to me as educated enough to be used as a comparison when evaluating art - not only his music database, but his art, philosophy and literature pages are, in my opinion, essential for beginners. For me he's not an influence to my evaluations, but more-so a guide in music exploration. I've contacted him out of curiosity about his opinion on certain topics and I'm not ashamed of it, as I hold quite the value in my own narcissistic opinion and his perspective probably wouldn't (hasn't yet) change(d) my mind. He is not all knowing and is capable of quite a few mistakes as well, but I find him as a much more reliable source than any other recommendation media I know of (incl. RYM, Last.fm, Christgau, Allmusic, /mu/, Youtube, Sputnikmusic, P4K, Discogs, Metallum, Facebook, Fantano or Marcel's Music Journal, amongst others.) I have nothing to hide - Scaruffi was, is and probably always will be greater than me and you when we're talking rock criticism. I can assure you I have my own musical view and ideals and just because at times the way of evaluation happens to overlap with a great critic's only proves his qualities. At the end, let's all take a deep breath and take a moment to remember that Captain Beefheart and Robert Wyatt have been around for much longer than Scaruffi.

Also can I just say they write like me when I'm drunk or high as fuck and it's sort of cringey. I liked em better when they weren't so preachy.
