No rapping.
Sampling is stealing
>Autechre, Aphex Twin, Bjork and Boards of Canada sound nothing alike
>let's call them the same genre, IDM
Really stupid for """intelligent"" dance music fans
agreed and I like all those guys (except Bjork)
idm should be called chairgroove
How old were you when you realized the following?
-Pop music is pop music
-Pop music differs from one generation to another primarily in instrumentation, ornamentation, production choices, and word choice in lyrics
-Most popular indie music, "alternative music", pop music, "emo" music, rock music, electronic music, large amounts of rap music, and so on are all more or less the same: pop music with a new coat on
-Pop music is a legitimate and respectable artform

The basic set of analysis is the natural numbers N = { 1 , 2 , 3 , … } {\displaystyle \mathbb {N} =\{1,2,3,\ldots \}} {\displaystyle \mathbb {N} =\{1,2,3,\ldots \}} (Some authors take { 0 , 1 , 2 , … } {\displaystyle \{0,1,2,\ldots \}} {\displaystyle \{0,1,2,\ldots \}} — when we wish to refer to this set, we use N 0 {\displaystyle \mathbb {N} _{0}} {\displaystyle \mathbb {N} _{0}}). The natural numbers are all you need for counting. This set is defined by its properties. The first property of the set of natural numbers N {\displaystyle \mathbb {N} } \mathbb {N} is that it has an equivalence relation = {\displaystyle =\ } {\displaystyle =\ } meaning the following axioms are satisfied:
Reflexivity
For all n ∈ N , n = n ; {\displaystyle n\in \mathbb {N} ,\ n=n;} {\displaystyle n\in \mathbb {N} ,\ n=n;}
Symmetry
For all n , m ∈ N , n = m {\displaystyle n,m\in \mathbb {N} ,\ n=m} {\displaystyle n,m\in \mathbb {N} ,\ n=m} if and only if m = n {\displaystyle m=n} {\displaystyle m=n};
Transitivity
For all n , m , l ∈ N {\displaystyle n,m,l\in \mathbb {N} } {\displaystyle n,m,l\in \mathbb {N} } if n = m {\displaystyle n=m} {\displaystyle n=m} and m = l {\displaystyle m=l} {\displaystyle m=l}, then n = l {\displaystyle n=l} {\displaystyle n=l};

I'm prepping for an anime con karaoke contest and so far all I have prepped is the Seatbelts Real Folk Blues and I want some backups. I'm an alto/belter so most anime music doesn't work for me. What are some anime/vidya songs in Japanese that still work?

guilty crown op
how essential to music production is music theory? i want to produce music but i dont know whether or not i should start with music theory. from what i can tell there are two communities of music production on the internet, the wanna be rappers who follow youtube tutorials and make shitty soundcloud beats, and the 'music purists' who study music theory, listen to only jazz and fuss about 'tamber' while writing cord progressions and fingering their buttholes. im afraid music theory will lead me down the latter path. what should i do, /mu/?
You could always just learn an instrument
of course studyign music theory can only benefit you.
use your ears. nothing is necessarily correct. what IS correct is how you hear and feel about your music. good luck
Woah!
It's like Duke Ellington. Except it's not fucking boring and tedious.
Who would have though making interesting music would be a better idea!!
pleb

You're right, Black Saint is plebeian: the jazz record.
>>74572651
hating on Ellington is just pleb. Black Saint still is a cool record, stop being a contrarian
