Even then the roman republic was an olgiarchic democracy in the most basic sense of the word, if you're a citizen of the USA you can vote, in rome it was heriditary (as in, there were roman citizens with no voting rights)

The british were somewhat inept, allowing many irishmen to starve in a large famine that seriously damaged ireland's health

The differences in the British and irish forms of government and how the two countries approach democracy, ie the british have a crown

You've seen cattle stampedes throughout military history, just aiming a herd of cows in the general direction of the enemy and hoping for the best, but even that's a tactic that lacks finesse.

I imagine even if you managed to train them all like >>3071722 said they would still be too slow with a rider and all on them. You'd be surrounded by pikemen. That's just speculation on my part though.

Before him, China is under a feudalism system with a "true" king and many other lords controlling different autonomous regions. In fact, he forefathers all served the King of Zhou. However, when the royal family grew weak, the lords began to fight each other for more controls. He was the one that ended hundreds of years of war and conflict, defeating 6 other nations within his lifetime, and unified China under one banner for the first time. He named himself the first emperor of China, and set example for all the emperors after him, that unifying China is the fundamental requirement of becoming one. You can say he is the main reason China is able to exist as a continuous nation for these many years.
