Should they administer IQ tests to humanities departments in order to weed out the pseudo-intellectuals and boost their validities?
They probably use faulty methodologies because they are literally too stupid to form a proper one
>>3069266
No. IQ tests are limited by the understanding of intelligence of the people administering them. Theyre good to a point, but also a pseudo-intellectual circle jerk
>>3069266
No. We must keep up with affirmative action.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't IQ tests only good for proving how good a person us at taking IQ tests?
Why doesn't Europe have its own Sengoku period or the Three Kingdoms period? Only thing that comes close is the Napoleonic era and even that's just the rest of Europe ganging up on Napoleon. Lame as fuck.

What is the most accurate, least modified version of the Bible available today? What language is it in? Also, same for the first question but specifically for Latin copies?
>>3069079
NRSV
>>3069082
Can you explain why you think a translation of translations (heck it even makes use of the vulgate so a translation of a translation or a translation)is the least modified bible ?
>>3069120
it's translated straight the original Hebrew OT and Greek NT
have humans reached the end of their socio-cultural timeline? will there be some grand revolution of ideas and government in the foreseeable future that will shake things up and create a new and interesting chapter in history? or has modernity given us the "ideal" civil society, one that cannot make its own history but can only look back at past history in objective cynicism?
advancement in AI could very easily change the entire structure of government and society

How can you study history and still believe in Judaism, Christianity or Islam?
The only way I can see around this is if one admits Genesis in allegorical because a lot of, if not all of, Biblical history has proven to either be false or distorted.
For example, we have no evidence to suggest that Israel and Judah were ever united kingdoms.
Futhermore, the "God" of the bible is clearly the patron god of the Israelis, Yahweh. Once you read enough about other religions and the paths the take, especially in Egypt, it becomes quite obvious that the whole "creator of all of the cosmos" shit was developed over time, not something that was instantly "revealed" to the Jews.
>>3068864
>if one admits Genesis in allegorical
Many religious people do. The biblical literalists of modern American Protestantism have had an outsized effect on how people view Christianity today, not because they are a majority of Christians, but because they make a majority of the noise. Jews tend not to be scriptural literalists. It's why they believe you have to study the scripture for years and years to fully understand it. Their literalists are called Kairaite Jews; they tend to be looked down upon. Muslims were writing Hadiths clear into the 20th century. Their scriptural literalists, the so called Quaranists, reject the Hadiths. They are largely considered apostates.

You mean like most Christians thought since the very start of Christianity?
>>3068900
>they tend to be looked down upon
For the same reason as literalist Christians. They believe wholly in the teachings of their holy book, often contrary to modern culture, and thus are rejected. The critics on the other hand only "believe" in what suits them and fits current thinking.
Did you know in the early days of the church there were several gospels? Not Just Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. There was the gospel of Thomas, gospel of Judas, gospel of Philip. Want to know who decided which gospels were inspired and which were not? Catholics. You're welcome. Nowhere in the Bible does it say what books belong in the Bible.
Nowhere in the Bible does it say what books belong in the Bible. It was a council of men who put the Bible together. Catholic men.

I understand this might be a long shot asking this here, but I realized that this might not get a serious answer on /pol/ or /news/.
Japan has enjoyed enormous demographic rise spanning from the 1950s to 2000s. While it faces unfavourable future with the aging population and very low child birth rate.
Why doesn't the government implement some kind of government-sponsored marriage program where they pair a man and woman together (basically a government approved dating program) that gets financially enticed if they marry.
Also a child policy of 2+ kids that are financially encouraged similiar as China does with 1 child policy. Wouldn't this drastically steer Japans course away from its demise? As I understand, Japan is a very resource poor nation, and its main source of success are its smart and hardworking people.
Why are they letting their one and only treasure suffer like this? Their people should be their number one priority.
Also why doesn't Asia return back to its Asian roots? I understand that Japan with its current wealth could really establish the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere " and that Japan could be at the forefront of that unity. Many other countries in Japan would be very iffy about something like that since WW2 wounds are still "fresh", but with the WW2 era population dying out, eventually it could become a reality. I see nothing wrong with Japan slowly releasing its ties with USA, turning to Asia, earning their trust slowly, until it becomes feasible to attempt such a league similiar to European Union only in Asia.
I believe this is the only way Japan can stay relevant in coming period, as unlike China it isn't riddled by corruption and fractured in many ways despite being a power to rival Japan.
Pic unrelated, just wanted some eye candy to attract a post or two.
Have some more Chinese architecture.

If we take a historical precedence, when large swathes of the population died during the black death in the 1300's, quality of life improved for the survivors.
Also nations who simply thought prosperity would come when they simply had more population ended badly:
