Is it really worth using FOSS software over proprietary ones that are just so perfect you can't stop using them?
Is it really worth making the same thread again? What are you trying to slide?
>Britain trying to ban encryption
>America trying to allow ISPs to MitM you and sell the results
Yes.
This depends on what you are trying to do. Most faults with proprietary software lie more with privacy/security than raw functionality. The FOSS world also generally has different workflows for certain tasks. For example, large spreadsheets are discouraged in favor of using databases. However, I refuse to use an operating system with ads in the filebrowser as a daily driver.
How hot is too hot for an i5 7600k? I was screwing around with overclocking and I managed to get it to 4.7ghz @ 1.280v, problem is my cooler isn't too great and it runs at around 64-70°C during a realbench stress test. Is this safe, or do I need to go for a lower volatage and clock?
>>59607141
Get concerned at 80-85*C
Revert all changes at 86*C+
Delid it

You're fine. It's a stresstest
Are these things just a meme or are they worth buying?
A meme worth buying.

I have a Samsung one and it's worth it. It has a good sound (i have the vol at 20% in the sound mixer and like 50% in the sound bar)
Complete meme
>usually a shitty sub for the price
>while the bar may be decent, it's only in one spot of the room
>no expandability or customizability later
If you're looking to use it in a small area or for some reason can't have wires (renting short term) then it's probably justifiable, but otherwise you're better off getting a home theater set and upgrading the speakers over time
Post legitimately good reasons why you still haven't switched over to a Linux distribution yet as your primary operating system.
No, /g/ owes you fucking nothing, stop spamming these threads
This thread should die empty, since there is no legitimate reason not to.

I am looking into tech details of Guccifer 2.0 metadata documents.
Lately two researchers posted some analysis that show that currently most accepted narrative is probably wrong. Or at least that many metadata evidence, that points fingers at Russians (APT29, FSB or APT28, GRU) was not examined and interpreted thoroughly enough.
Looks like all metadata in #.doc documents Guccifer2.0 released, was carefully planted there for journalist, to found it and to assert conclusion that Guccifer 2.0 is Russian Kremlin sponsored hacker pretending to be Romanian lone wolf.
Metadata suggests that Guccifer 2.0 might be someone pretending to be Russian, with intention to either harm DNC or help them blame the Russians.
If you are interested read those 2 (4) articles and post your opinion. Try to keep it technical. I am not here to talk about politics.

What's up with these cards? I went to a camera shop to buy a card 128gb UHS 3 for $189 but I can get the same type card on Amazon for $49 are the internal components that much better?
>>59606944
Flash storage has always been horribly price in stores
Check the reviews on Amazon. I think sometimes the cheap high-capacity storage cards are actually smaller ones with some kind of trick to make them look bigger.

Do those still exist? I thought they were put out of business a long time ago.
Why aren't you hyped for Mill CPUs /g/?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgLNyMAi-0I
It might take 5 or more years before we see a real Mill, if ever. But, if it becomes a reality then Intel and AMD will forever be eternally BTFO, especially if modern software gets compiled for the Mill. What do you think?
>>59606943
If you want to avoid watching the video, the claim is a 10x improvement in speed and power usage of current architectures, which is backed up with quite a bit of reasonably sound theory.
I'm afraid they might be patent trolls or investment scammers. They announced this thing a few years ago and didn't release anything since then. I understand a final product takes some time but they basically have nothing right now.
I also think it's weird that they use their own lingo for *everything*. For example, they call the architecture a 'belt machine' (wording that they invented) when it's really a temporal stack machine (wording that may have been around for some time).
I think they really might not have anything and are just waiting for a third party to release something remotely similar and then they'll sue. And when you watch the videos, you'll see they are throwing literally dozens of concepts and ideas around that they want to introduce in this CPU. But when you look at it from another direction, this strategy might simply be a patent trolls shotgun technique and there's nothing concrete behind these ideas.
Also: locked forums, any actual detail is secret, etc.
Seems to be vaporware.
