Recently I've enjoyed finite stories with established endings and I consider this the end of Peter (until Bendis ruined it later on). It's for the reason that the Arkham Verse Batman remains one of my favorite incarnations, simply becuaes he has a clear beginning, middle, and end and doesn't go beyond that simply for the sake of keeping the status quo.

Probably because 616 started back in the day when places would charge you to use their name. So marvel would have had to pay a ridiculous licensing fee to just use CNN, much less Coke, etc.

By the time Ultimates had come around though, most companies had discovered that the free advertising of having their products show up in books/cartoons/etc was more than they'd make with the licensing fees. So they started letting people use those products/names.

So instead of Marvel having to pay out $20k to have Wolverine drink a Coke, Coke let's the Wolverine drink coke for free because 4,000 kids will now want to drink cokes just like their hero Wolverine.

Tony's brother Greg had implanted super soldiers in half a dozen countries with the goal of replacing their governments with pro-American governments. Then he sparked one off in North Korea and Capt led them to stop the civil war that was happening.

Unfortunately, while they were dealing with that, Greg managed to pull the same thing off in Iran, and Peter had to go 12 rounds with the Sinister Four while being gut shot. So them not being there was fairly legit (though they really should have checked the bridge and taken Pete to a hospital before they ran off).

I have to admit I do like this page. Shows the difference between Peter and Miles. Peter was amazed and enjoyed his new abilities, Miles clearly isn't happy about it. Feels like they could have also gone the route of the 'great power' speech. While Peter took it as inspiring Miles could see it as a less enjoyable duty.

I've written fiction in my spare time (and really need to get back to it). I've had one or two characters who could, in theory do that...but that's because they're either empowered by Norse Gods, or one of them is a genius with alchemical science (built on years of intense study) and uses knowledge to exponentially increase the damage they do with their magical abilities.

Nothing wrong with OP characters, but they have to earn that strength. Miles just seems to have had it given to him.
