Bump. Thanks anon,re-reading this has given me more appreciation for U. Spiderman
Awwwwwwww
>>94080304
HAzzah!!!
And just out of curiousity, how would you all rate the Spider-Man movies that have come out? I don't care about which one got higher metacritic scores, I want to know the ones that you liked. I'm working on my list because I'm rewatching the Webb movies and I'm having mixed thoughts about them.
>>94080395
I liked Spiderman 2, didn't care for Tobey but the costume was nice.
Amazing Spiderman was good, Worse Peter but way better Spiderman, second best villian
Homecoming was good, Great Hero and Villian
ASM2 and SM were meh, SM3 was the only one I don't like.
Time for Ultimate Six! It may not be in the exact spot it needs to be but I feel like it's going to be okay.
>>94080446
>Cletus Kasady
Is he even in this?
>>94080974
I think he's only mentioned in passing but never gets a full appearance.
I know this is a petty complaint but this art is not doing it for me. I wouldn't have known this was Norman unless they said it.
For future Spider-Man movies, I actually think Michael C. Hall would be a great choice for Noran Osborn. He won't replace Dafoe in my eyes but I think he'd shine in the role.
I'm tired of them making Kraven a joke in this series. He gets shit on just as much as The Shocker and quite frankly that's an insult to his character.
Also here's my Spider-Man ranking
Spider-Man 2 > Spider-Man > Amazing Spider-Man = Homecoming > Amazing Spider-Man 2
I know there are a lot of people that would say Homecoming is one of Spidey's best movies and quite frankly I just don't get it. It shit on so many characters in the Spider-Man lore that I can't even recognize them. Literally, if I wasn't told their names I never would have been able to match their characters with the ones they're based on.

God damn, Bendis, what happened to pages like this?
Bumpty Bump
Thanks for the storytime, op!
>>94081391
Smart.
>>94081495
I think he got too caught up in his own ego and he went on autopilot. Slott did the same.
>>94081591
Thank you for visiting this thread!!!
Also this may be an obvious question, but if you had to choose between Bendis or Slott as the new ongoing writer for Amazing Spider-Man who would you go with?
>Currently I'm thinking Bendis but that may just be because I've put up with SLott for over 4 years and I'm done with him.
Shut up Norman.
>>94081151
Agreed. Like right here >>94081127
Look at this Biff Tannen motherfucker
>>94081683
I'd say Slott purely because having Bendis in charge would only give him an excuse to push Miles even more.
I'm playing GTA VC right now and I'm at the mission where you have to save Lance's stupid ass from the junkyard and it's really rustling my jimmies. Getting to him is easy. Getting to the hospital is really pissing me off.
>>94082109
Let's say just for the sake of argument that each respective writer is not allowed to use any other Spider characters in their respective series other than Peter. So that means no Spider-Woman of any kind, no Miles, no Silk, unfortunately that means no Kaine but I'll get over it.
>>94081195
So Fury is supposed to sound villainous here, right?
>>94082050
>>94082076
Oh man I forgot how utterly retarded Ultimate SHIELD was.
>>94082173
Urgh....So we either have Slott doing what Slott does, or we have a whole new roster of Burger King Kids Club OCs and Bendisspeak.
I honestly don't think I can make that call.
Iron-Man's armor sucks though
>>94082524
I'd say he's much more of a villain in the Spider-Man series than any other series that he appears.
>>94082554
Right there with ya. Ultimate SHIELD is literally every negative stereotype about a secret government agency rolled int one.
>>94082664
Another rule, no OC for at least the first four or five arcs. Spider-Man already has a supporting cast for every possible occasion so there is no need for extra mouths.
>>94082670
It may not be the most aethestically pleasing but it actually feels like a suit of armor that could go toe to toe with a superhuman. It initially required an entire team of engineers to get him in and out of the suit.
>>94082976
Bumping
I know this is definitely an upopular opinion, but I love Ultimate Goblin's design. It will never replace 616 Osborn and his goblin glider but he still proved to be an absolute monster in Ult. SPidey's rogues gallery, literally.
>>94080395
(Rami 2, Rami 1,ASM1=Rami 3, ASM2)
Homecoming ? (Haven't seen it)
I should rewatch Spider Man 3, it's been years.
>>94083298
Agreed
>>94082835
Top.
Men.
>MFW that reference is probably older than most of the people on this board
>>94083887
THey obviously have no taste. I actually prefer the second movie in the trilogy. It was just a really comfy movie
>>94080662
So ultimate Kingpin is just Mr.Freeze.
Just killed Diaz in Vice City and took over his empire. Feels good.
where is this artist now? never heard of him
I said it before and I'll say it again. This art sucks. I would never have recognized that to be Harry.
>>94084072
Basically. I preferred it in Punisher: Max when Vanessa and Kingpin were at each other's throats.
>>94084120
I tried googling him and didn't see any work that I recognized.
>>94084120
>where is this artist now? never heard of him
Valiant
>>94082879
It's one of the 5 best suits.
God dammit Tony
Goblin in the first panel looks like a Seth McFarlane creation.
>>94081291
Kraven buddy, what the fuck's wrong with your face?
Harry, shut the fuck up. These people saved your life. Your father is the one that fucked everything up. Get bent.
>>94084398
Art is straight up garbage. I tried to go in with an open mind, but goddamn this is awful.
DESTROY HIS GODDAMN ARMS! THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO!!!! He literally has a psychic link to them. He knows when you're bullshitting him. God, SHIELD is incompetent in every fucking iteration.
May, this is SHIELD. You aren't going to sue them.
>>94083298
Too much like the hulk in some regards
>>94084241
It's weird, the art is pretty good for the most part, but the characters are unrecognizable.
I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm with Ultimate Cap. There is literally no reason to keep him alive. There's bound to be another genetic mutation in the future that meets your criteria. Let this one go. This is seriously bad writing.
>>94083298
Fire Hulk is not bad but derivative.
I'm glad to see Cap isn't taking any of Fury's crap.
>>94084578
I can definitely agree with you on that part, but I think tying both Peter and Norman to the OZ formula was a good idea.
>>94084595
The backgrounds and settings look great, but none of these characters look remotely close to their counterparts except for Fury and that's only because of the eye patch.
>>94084455
>Art is straight up garbage. I tried to go in with an open mind, but goddamn this is awful.
First issue was tight. I'm guessing he got rushed especially since he has a Hitch-style.
>>94084644
Fucking CAP is advocating an execution and you still want that sweet DNA. You done fucked up.
>>94084699
I know Hitch is by no means a top ten writer but I adore his art. It's one of the reasons I love revisiting Millar's Utimates. The dialog has some serious bite to it and the art manages to have a sense of realism without hitting the uncanny valley.
>>94084757
This is an obvious case of Bendis not wanting to kill his babies because he wuvs them too much. Story be damned.
>>94084483
>Sandman so destabilized they're storing him in jars
Savage.
I think this art is ok, it's a little fussy at times, but the proportions are ok, the anatomy is fine, the BGs are decent, the big deal is that characters *have* to be *immediately* identifiable in a fast-paced medium like comics, and he's totally failing at that. I actually believe that's one of the (many) reasons superheroes were originally given the brightly colored suits: "Oh, it's a green-and yellow jumpsuit, dark hair, bowl cut, must be Ock."
>>94082766
Peter please just put your mask on.
>>94084786
>Run over to the Watsons'

>>94084883
Bendis? Be Damned?
>>94084719
aun may's mom? whaaaat?
>>94084906
Hey, I remember this! Marvel wasn't sure if they could make references to a Spider-Man movie, what with Sony having the movie rights, so they had the comic about an "Arachno-Man" movie, then changed it to Spider-Man in a re-release when they found out that that was okay. The Ultimate Spider-Man game had an Arachno-Man poster and unlockable costume.
>>94085099
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT! I JUST CALLED THIS! This is shitty writing at its worst. Fucking hell. How is Fury in charge of anything? All he does is get people killed and masturbate himself.
>>94084937
ouch
>>94085217
Peter doesn't deserve that.
>>94085022

The comic book writer, Brian Michael Bendis?it's an older gag, sir, but it checks out
I know this isn't really tied to the thread
>>94085437
FUck didn't finish. Screw you autopost. Just saw the Thor trailer dropped and I'm in awe. I know some would say they've deviated too far from the classic Thor aesthetic but this looks ballin.

Why does Flash continuously talk shit? Every time he's done it someone has physically responded and displayed they could lay his ass out.
>>94084674
This is an enjoyable story.
>>94080076
Hey OP, just wanna thank you for doing this. This has been a really good read and gives me more perspective on why Bendis got to the place he's in and how far his writing has declined. Thanks again, man.
>>94085391
Yeah but I haven't read this book since it came out on floppies, and oh god it was there even then.
>>94084241
Why the fuck is Harry there?
>>94084502
Nah man they gotta learn about the arms so that they can say he's got nothing on them like 5 seconds before he kills everyone in the room.
>>94086061
To try and jolt Osborn back to reality and get him to give up on his rampage to teh White House. Not a bad plan but SHIELD obviously doesn't give a shit about endangering the life of a minor.
>>94085945
Don't mention it brah. I frankly just got sick and tired of all these newfags trashing Bendis when it's obvious that hadn't even read his earlier titles. I have no problem admitting that in some titles it's obvious he's phoning it in but to completely discredit his entire catalog is asinine. I'm actually debating on whether or not I should have a follow up Bendis thread afterward but I'm not sure which title to focus on. Options include....
>New Avengers VOl. 1 (I'd also storytime dissasembled as a prelude to set the stage.).
>Avengers Vol. 4 and New Avengers Vol. 2 (I feel like I'd have to storytime both of those because they frequently tie in together.
>Dark Avengers and Siege. I'd also probably do a few issues of Secret Warriors because he co-wrote a couple issues with Hickman.
>Mighty Avengers is definitley in my catalog but it is by far Bendis' weakest Avengers series and that's saying something. Strangely it was actually Dan Slott that came in and elevated to classic Avengers status.
>I have all of Alias in graphic novel format.
>I have all of Bendis' Daredevil in graphic novel format.
>I have his crime dramas Goldfish, Jinx, and Torso and while I can admire them for what they are, I prefer his cape work.
>United States of Murder
>His Powers saga in both single issue and graphic novel format.
>His Guardians of the Galaxy run.
>I have all his Secret Invasion issues.
>I see that someone else has already done Civil War II so I'll not include that one.
>I have his series Brillaint that he gave up on which shows that he didn't have a full arc of story before pissing off.
>Last but not least I have his X-Men issues, both All New X-Men and his run on Uncanny X-Men.
>>94085099
Jesus fucking Christ Shield.
>>94086598
I've given up on trying to argue for their decision. If anything they've taught me how not to write a shadowy government organization in my own work. Everyone in Ult. SHIELD is a bonafide dickhead.
>>94086773
>I thought I got revamped

>Tyranical Tyranny
I love Mary Jane. This Mary Jane. Not the SJW cunt they had portray MJ in the most recent Spider-Man movie. Some may see that as mean, but if you think that you obviously don't actually care about Mary Jane as a character.
>We have no word on actor Tobey Maguire's safety.
Ha
Well...fuck....
Stella place to end this thread. I hope everyone enjoyed. If you have any thoughts concerning any possible future Bendis issues I'd like to hear them. Also you guys are awesome.

>>94085518
What's bugging me is, what the hell did Flash want to talk about with Peter during the Venom arc? He went out of his way twice to get him alone and seemed pretty serious.
>>94090477
You'll get an answer to that soon.
>>94085153
>>94085198
Pic of Arachno-Man. I'm curious about how the dialogue was in the original version, since it must have been different what with the movie not actually being a Spider-Man movie.
>>94090544
Oh! Sweet. I can only imagine it could be forgotten between arcs as it was coming out originally, too.
I'm not going to lie, I was prepared to go Ono this series with my torches and pitchforks at the ready but all this series has done is exceed my expectations with its characters and deliver a solid Spider-Man series.
>>94085412
Otto is so creepy.
>>94084404
Harry's life really sucks in this universe.
>>94083298
It's a bit too Hulk-like. I liked his purple cloak, if you didn't know this was Osborn you'd think it was Abomination or Hulk, which is a bit of a detractor.

>>94096256
He walks around with a holier than thou attitude and completely disregards the entire concept of "the chain of command" as well as subtlety. It isn't so much that he did any one thing that's super awful, although he's going to by the end of this series, but his entire character is stuck so far up his own ass its baffling that he can even see the world at all. In the Ultimate universe Captain America prances around delivering ultimatums to heroes like it's his goddamn day job and gives no reason for his decision other than, "because I say so therefore I'm right."
And if you don't agree with his ruling, he'll threaten you which is insane because he technically has no real power so he's relying on fear tactics to make his will be heard. More characters need to tell this old fossil to fuck off because he's not getting any resistance from the cronies he surrounds himself with. Lastly, Ultimate Steve Rogers is not a hero in the sense that 616 version is. Everything that made this Captain America special is due to the super soldier serum, including his tactical mind. Although Bruce may have been exaggerating a bit, Captain America was apparently as dumb as a sack of hammers before the super soldier serum. He acts like he's the greatest thing since slice bread but he didn't have to work a day in his life to get where he is. 616 Cap has displayed that even without his powers he is still intuitive enough to face off against threats that could wipe the floor with him. Ult. Cap has never experienced such as setback because it would become that much more obvious that he has nothing to contribute beyond his "ra ra go America " attitude. I know I'm definitely jaded in my interpretation but I feel like a lot of what I said has some truth in it.
>He has literally used children as a human shield to protect his ass.
>>94098608
2003-2004 and the game came out in 2005 so the game actually picked up where this left off with Sandman.
>>94080962
Jesus Christ, what is that hairstyle??
>>94099544
The, I'm just going to electrocute this hair off in a couple seconds hairstyle. Electro moreso than any other Ultimate character gets knocked unconscious and wakes up in a hospital bed surrounded by people. Sometimes his hair grows back in patches. Sometimes it grows all over. BUt in call cases it's just going to get fried off the second he gets conscious.

Spider-Man 2, Homecoming, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 3, Amazing 1, Amazing 2.
>>94100584
I like it. Behold some of the worst rankings of all time. A lot of people would say I placed the first Raimi movie too high on this list but I consider it an achievement for superhero films. Raimi's directing was on point and had a unique style and Dafoe was hands down one of the best parts about that movie.
Spider-Man 2 > Spider-Man 1 > Spider-Man 3 = Homecoming > Amazing Spider-Man > Amazing Spider-Man 2.
