I don't remember anything past Millar's run. Is it worth another look. Keep in mind, I've despised every X-Men comic (for the most part) that came out in the past 5 years and I really want to like them but every time I see them they are all a bunch of judgmental pricks that walk around with a massive persecution complex and sucking their own dicks.

With the nightmare that is current Marvel, I've spent more of my "marvel" time reading up stuff from the past. The Claremont stuff got storytimed and what I read was pretty good.

some of the stuff around the time Emma and Scott got together was good. But the X-men did honestly suffer the precursors to the politics that has completely flooded marvel. Being a Mutant was the key to everything, and depending on if you were an X-man or a Brotherhood meant you were good or bad (regardless of the fact the Brotherhood had good points and the X-men spent a fair bit of their time being literal terrorists).

X-men look better these days because Scott went "rightclops" in the face of the Inhumans who...gods if there was ever an example in comics that embraced the "judge by race not character" meme...are so terrible. If it wasn't for the Inhumans though, I'd really question how "good" the x-men are.

Now that you mention it, I can definitely see the parallels. I think Vulture is more interesting becaus of the family angle. He's doing it to support himself, not just to get back at the companies that screwed him. Vulture did his best to scavanage alien tech and others (I'm guessing some ultron tech) and did his best to avoid Stark unless necessary, which is when he had The TInkerer make the high altitude seal.

In 616, Venom doesn't trigger the spider sense, right? I think I prefer it this way, it makes more sense, since they have a biological connection. Also, spider sense makes most sense as an extension of Peter's heightened senses and situational awareness as opposed to some magical precognition, so it doesn't really make sense for Venom to be able to bypass it.

This seems like a dumb question, but have you all ever experienced a movie scene that completely took you out of the moment and potentially ruined your enjoyment of the film?

I started rewatching the MCU today and I got to the Avengers and the scene where Black Widow hair whips one of her compatriots was the definition of retarded. That singular moment made me see the movie as one giant TV film that just happened to start big name actors. I wish I was just being petty but so much of the choreography was goddamn awful.

Thank god. I rewatched Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (I have a decent camrip) and it had so much more emotion and was infinitely more entertaining to watch than The Avengers. I know some might lambast me for that opinion but Guardians 2 was the only movie to make me legitimately tear up because of the loss of a character.
If you wanna call me a pleb go ahead, but Yondu's death hit like a ton of bricks and it was a moment I had yet to experience in an MCU movie.

Never seen Guardians 2 but I had my share of problems with Avengers myself. I liked the banter and quips when I first saw it in theaters, but even at the time I knew that was really all it was. I've noticed the MCU movies have a real problem with spending a ton of time on buildup and then blowing their load on one big action scene, which makes the pacing seem jarring at best and nonexistent at worst.
I would never dream of calling a classic Sabbath fan a pleb either.

Fix this immediately!!! It is a completely different type of film from the first GOTG and I think that alientated a lot of people that just wanted more of the same, and when they didn't get GOTG v2 but instead a completely different type of movie they revolted and said it was worse. Those people fail to comprehend that the second one was a fantastic sequel that expanded the plot in every way imaginable and didn't try to be the film that came before, instead it aspired to be a sequel that focused more on character arcs than spectacle. It's the MCU movie that ellicited the biggest emotioanl reaction from me. The music choice is god tier and compliment the movie expertly. The entire last third had me glued to my seat eagerly waiting for what would happen next
