I need some guidance but this is so strange that I don't know if anyone is willing, caring or even can help me. It's a bit long so please bear with me.

Then you need to try different meds.
I know it's hard Anon. It took ages for me to get on medication that actually works, but eventually something worked. (and when I say ages I mean ages. It's a long and tiresome journey.) You might have to take more than one, the hospital could help you out with that and then if you can you might want to try somewhere else to see if they can also recommend a medication. The last time I was in the hospital they put me on the med that actually fucking worked (make sure they start you off on very very small doses if the meds affect you so heavily); but anyway the one med they put me on only helped with half of the problems I had so I traveled to New York and got a brain scan and they recommended another drug for me (initially it had a strong side affect but I got used to it and it dwindled....although honestly I should probably change it eventually.) Anyway the place I went to for the second drug was called Amen Clinic.

But if your mental illness isn't as strong, one drug might work.

I have a theory that the attraction for drugs is spiritual. It's a longing for something beyond the physical and its limitations.
My personality is not so different than yours, from what you are saying and I too have problems with excessive weed consumption.

So for me, meditation seems to slowly replace smoking, because I found out you can get even higher if you are sensitive to life and deeply aware.

So if you speak the same language as I do, maybe this can help you. Go to your center, just leave everything (sensations, imagination, thoughts, emotions) and let them settle..in other words let your ears hear what they want, your breath manifest as it wants, etc. By doing this, you suddenly find yourself feeling limitless and then even that can be discarded. By now, a sense of bliss and intoxication like never before will be experienced, only it's different, it doesn't make you unconscious, but deeply aware. THAT for me seems to be more attractive than any drug induced state, but still, weed is always welcome (this last statement is why I probably won't quit smoking, not anytime soon anyway)

I hope this helps, it's not a perfect method, I improvised most of this meditation through experimenting so maybe there's a better way to achieve this. If there is a better way, i'm open to suggestions

Oddly enough I am pursuing an artistic career, I want to be an illustrator but I still suck at drawing so I work as a graphic designer. It's my way to be at least in a related area. If you're good don't give up.
