I'm assuming you mean the modern usage of the word, though, as in "nature mage".
In that case, I guess a good starting point would be to appreciate nature. Take for example our symbiosis with plants and trees. We inhale their exhaust gas, and they inhale our exhaust gas. It's a constant circular pattern of gas cycling. We're not discreet, separate organisms, but rather small parts of a much larger organism.
Green isn't really my specialty, though. You'd probably want to get a second opinion from a more experienced nature magic person about a good starting point.
