Naming my computer.
Pic is my predicament. I have actually spent hours reaching this as it become an obsession. Finally narrowed my goals into a list.
#. Simple enough most people wouldn't get it, unless they actually thought about it. (clever/interesting for those who get it, that middle ground of unique by not alien, which is harder then it sounds)
#. Discourages people from linking to it. (Don't want people trying to link to it)
#. very technical/sci-fi (I like that stuff and wanted to eliminate a lot of ideas so I added this restriction)
I am still open to any ideas, but am now looking for some technical/sci-fi variation of Pandora's box that is fairly unknown but still shows up on google.
Any new input would be nice.

Why?

The unit needs to have a designation so the network can identify it for communications proposes. If it's not named it can't talk to the network, which includes modem linking it to the internet.
Just about anything can work, and many just use the defaults, but many other like me want something else.
Does anyone know of any good website or a program that could transform youtube playlist into mp3's. I found a few but they all have some sort of premium subscription and limited non premium option.

Thanks, but i already use that site for individual song downloads. I'm looking for something that would be able to download a whole playlist.

keepvid but i think you had to pay
So I don't know shit about processor speed, so do you guys know what speed should be enough for the things I want to do?
I want to install Linux on my new pc, be able to learn programming on it (and have multiple programs running at the same time), and play games of about the size of League of Legends and Hearthstone.
Does RAM memory also matter for what I'm trying to do? Should I try to look into that?
Thanks in advance to any anons who respond with something useful.
Thanks everybody!
Just go by the system requirements of the games you want to play. The OS will definitely not be the bottleneck, especially not if you're going with Linux. Make sure those games even run on Linux or Wine.
Yes, both CPU and RAM will matter, although RAM is usually comparatively cheap.
>>154770
Stay windows m8, it's very complicated to run wine and stuff. Just get a better PC or upgrade it.
Also some Processors and graphics cards don't play nice with Linux.
Linux based OS are only for those that worry about privacy and security.
>Currently running Linux mint on my main PC (it's a bitch) and running Windows 10 on my back up PC.
What's the best laptop I can get for gaming, /wsr/?
>inb4 PC is so much better
I move around a lot, and I'm not going to spend all day plugging and unplugging that shit.
>>154767
>I move around a lot
Unfortunately for you the vast majority of video games require sitting in one place for extended periods of time. Stick to mobile games OP.
>>154767
Im no expert but I got an MSI leopard on sale and it runs most games just fine, only con is that it's a bit heavy (7.5 pounds)
>Do some research
>>154767
That depends a lot on what you're playing. It's no different from selecting a desktop machine: figure out what you want from it (what games, what resolution, are you willing to drop to medium settings or does everything have to be ultra-smooth, are you going to use it for anything else), match up a GPU/CPU with that, then select a model that comes closest for the best price.
If you're going to do nothing but play WoW on it, it'll be a lot cheaper than a machine that has to run the latest next-gen shit at the highest settings. With laptops, you pay for every inch of screen.
Could someone give some advice?
I'd like to get a PC for gaming. Thing is, I see all my friends getting themselves something around 1500€, but I've also heard that is possible to have a more than decent machine with 300€. Is this true?
Because I'd use it exclusively for vidya. I don't care if it's not 4K graphics. At most, I want some mods and no graphic lag.
I'm not asking for specifics, just a scoop on what to look for or how much should I expect to spend.
I don't know if I am making any sense, but I appreciate any effort to help me. Thank you so much in advance.
My computer does great for $700 US. I built it by researching the best midrange priced components online.
>>154764
Built mine for about £500 4 years ago and at the time it ran most things mid to high and still running most fairly well in low today. Budget is definitely doable.
>>154764
€300 is *really* low, I wouldn't call that "more than decent". I mean, you *can* get a machine for that price that you can game on (with a second hand GPU being your best bet), but even €100 extra will get you a much better machine. It depends a bit on where you live too, of course. But aim for the 400-500 sweet spot and you can get an adequate rig for budget gaming.
Hey guys, any of you know of any good programs or plugins that will let me save YT videos to my hard drive? Namely, ones that won't come with any spyware or viruses. I did some Googling, but it seemed a lot of them were in broken English or otherwise looked suspicious. I don't wanna take a chance with bricking my computer since it's the only one I have. Preferably, I'd like to save in mp4 format, but anything will do. Thanks in advance senpaitachi.
Youtube-dl.
It's what I use.
If it works on WinMSDOS I don't know.
just use a browser addon
>>154742
>works completely perfect
>has a pre-compiled exe with Python interpreter built in
>also has batch downloading
>renames file appropriately
Couldn't have asked for more, man. Thanks a ton! Also it does work on Windows, I got my video already.
Where can I download regular cartoons?

http://myanimelist.net/anime/14741/Chuunibyou_demo_Koi_ga_Shitai?q=chhunibo -->typical school/slice of life romcom, but still pretty fun
http://myanimelist.net/anime/23277/Saenai_Heroine_no_Sodatekata --> same setting, other premise; one of the better animes from that season
http://myanimelist.net/anime/28999/Charlotte --> for the general anime watcher with shittaste
http://myanimelist.net/anime/849/Suzumiya_Haruhi_no_Yuuutsu --> skip the 2009 remake and watch the 2006 version; watch it the nonchronological
order; the same as when it aired. Use wikipedia to reassemble the list. Still one of my favorites of the genre
http://myanimelist.net/anime/23847/Yahari_Ore_no_Seishun_Love_Comedy_wa_Machigatteiru_Zoku --> not really funny, but moving; same tier as Haruhi
http://myanimelist.net/anime/24765/Gakkougurashi --> slightly disturbing, with a weak start; also no superpowers; intresting but bad executed concept.

Hey guys,
tried to download this game (XIII), which is like ten years old, but cannot access part 16 of the rar files. Share-online tells me, that there is no free slot on the server. Nevertheless all the other parts work, and waiting (as advised by share-online) does not work either.
I do not have the money to buy a premium account, which would probably be a solution.
Does anybody know a solution without the need to pay money?
Thanks in advance
How the fuck can i post a link without 4chan telling me it is spam? The fuck?

Which is the best free VPN and why ?
im not an expertbut cyberghost is a safe bet from what i've read.
If its just to access websites or some minor trolling then any "free" vpn will do the job. Don't do anything illegal with them because they most certainly keep logs.
>>154718
And then which ones dont keep logs
Best Raw Anime Group? Best quality and stuff?
Ohys
Leopard
VCB-S
they are actually a chinese release group, but moonrunes all the same.
>>154746
These two are the most reliable. But quality more usually depends on the channel being ripped than anything else. Some channels have higher bitrates than others. Start memorizing your Japanese TV networks, anon. Some basic ones to get you started:
>TX (TV Tokyo, national broadcast network that specializes in anime)
>BS 11 (Nippon BS Broadcasting, satellite station)
>ATX (Anime Theater, satellite subscription channel that is a subsidiary of TV Tokyo, often has uncensored broadcasts)
>MX (Tokyo Metro TV, a Tokyo-exclusive cable channel)
>CX (Fuji TV, a broadcast channel with a premium variant specialized in anime)
>NHK (Japan's largest public broadcasting network, chartered and partially funded by the government, mostly daytime anime)
>TBS/MBS (regional broadcast networks for the Kanto and Kansai regions, respectively. They are owned by the same company and show the same programming, but their branding changes depending on the region. There are others besides these two, but they are the most common you will see)
