I don't capture gyms when I spoof and the only time I do it is when the game rakes my asshole with RNG.
I am sick and tired of hatching a nice pokemon of a species that does not ever spawn anywhere within 200km of me. Walking it for weeks and finally evolving it only to have it get shit moves

I spoofed for the first time about 3 weeks ago to NYC and I literally couldn't believe how big a difference it was. In 5 square blocks I had seen more pokemon in 5 min that I had in almost 7 months of walking around my town

this is absurd and needs to either be changed to stop favoring big cities so much or I will just continue to spoof so that I am allowed to have nice things

one of the other big reasons that I resorted to spoofing was because of the aggressive removal of tracking maps
99% of the spawns around me were pidgey, ratata, geodude, and mankey. When you have caught hundreds if not thousands of each of these pokemon the game gets old really fast and with no way to filter them out and zero in on the things that are unique and interesting there was no point to playing the game in a legitimate fashion anymore

I wish niantic would pull their heads out of their ass and realize that they need to do a rural/suburban update to make this game playable for half their user base

If you're gonna use Cydia Impactor, you need the IPA. TuTu has the app downloadable from its 3rd party installer so you don't need your own copy of the IPA. You do need to give permissions to use them, and the app can be revoked and force you to either wait for TuTu to be reinstated or use the impactor.

I started spoofing because I overworked my legs playing legitimately. Even then, I still remain local. I never snipe, and I never take more than 10 gyms at a time.

I do, however, happen to live near Philadelphia, and my mother has a summer home down in northern Wildwood, New Jersey, so even without spoofing I'd look like a cheater with how fast I progress. Reached level 25 in less than a month, and I'm almost completed the Pokedex.

I still play legit when I can, but I live in a suburb where the nearest Pokestop is a half hour walk. I can't drive due to my heavily impaired vision, and I'm not going to pay $5 a day just to play a game.

I spoof because it's fucking cold, there's no pokestops within walking distance, and Niantic's horrible balancing means teleporting to California for an hour gets me more than a week of walking here in my town

I consider it cheating, yeah, which is why I try not to get caught.

I was completely legit up to level 28 and got frustrated that I still haven't seen multiple good pokemon.

I enjoy the game, but Niantic is deliberately using the free-to-play model of making it fucking impossible to play the game fully without paying EIGHT DOLLARS for 200 pokeballs or catching rare shit. I refuse to adopt that model for the same reason I refuse to pay $20 to stream a recent movie. Make things worth their cost and maybe I wouldn't bother wrapping my phone in aluminum foil

I hate some spoofers but i dont really see a difference to 'legit' assholes. Carfags and multi account users going for gyms can be as annoying as spoofers. They just do it from home but for me theres no differences if they spend gas money or not. Spoofers have better mons yes, but that only matters now with Blissey, but same as Snorlax the spoofers here go for Dragonites 99% of the time anyway

PokeGo has a "Patrol" function that walks me in figure eights, as long as the speed is set to egg, I hatch eggs as fast as possible. When you rubber band around, as long as you don't activate the "you're going too fast!" sign, the game will count distance walked until you either A) hit a stop B) catch a Pokémon or C) wait five minutes for it to do a distance check. It resets the timer for a distance check or nullifies distance achieved before writing it server side if you trigger the "you're going too fast!" message.

No disabilty and im not fucked by my location but being in the suburbs I have to drive to the city for all the good nests/stop circuits. I have a friend who is lvl 32, has played legit since day one and still goes out of his apartment in the city multiple times a day to catch a rare that his radar picked up. Being in the city surrounded by stops instead of being able to see >5 in vicinity of your house is a big motivator to give up and spoof again. Im not fit nor fat so I like to use Go to keep active and explore parks/nests with the gf who dosent care much for the game but plays when I play because she likes the idea of a relationship building activity.

It would be hypocritical to get mad at cheaters when I picked up about 20 lapras/dragonite/porygon + 3 other regionals from my glory days but I wont lie, it gets on my nerves sometimes seeing everyone else so freely exploit the exploitable while I choose to remain on the harder path. Scanning is not unethical I believe its a feature that should've come with the game in the first place. And I am proud of every rare/gym accomplishment and especially being lucky enough to avoid the ban so I wont be spoofing again anytime soon. I live in Montana and although my city is large for the state it is tiny compared to the cities that Niantic seems to think you should live in to play this game.
Because of this fact I am very, very limited in what spawns around me and am pretty much 100% reliant on eggs giving me new and cool things. This is a problem in itself since eggs are more likely to hatch into pokemon that come from the biome of they stop they were acquired from further reducing my chances of seeing nice things.
the tipping point for me was actually yesterday when after walking the only Scyther I have ever seen, that I hatched from an egg, for the better part of a week and spinning hundreds of stops that are spread out and require quite a bit of effort to walk betwen to get a metal coat I evolved it into a Scizor and it rolled with the worst possible moves

yes but like the map scanners it is a necessary evil for people to be able to compete. I have quite a many gyms in my town but when you look around and see that most of them are filled with 3k+ dragonites, tyranitars, and gyarados when I have seen a grand total of 1 Dratini, 1 Larvitar, and maybe 3 Magikarp then you know something is wrong.

This is due to the fact that the games provide you with a method for actually acquiring the proper pokemon and it isn't some grindy RNG shitfest that can take months if not years to get the pokemon you want. While there are some very specific circumstances that I think hacking or genning is ok in the main games (soft boiled Clefable) for the vast majority of cases it isn't.

I've never spoofed because I like the incentive of going out and taking a chance at something worthwhile in an egg or the nearby city. I live next to a university so it's not as if I'm short of areas nearby if I need a quick top up. Even if I'm unlucky, at least I can say I've lost 20lb through this game.

Aside from completing the dex, the only thing that tends to keep me interested in this game is for that one moment something incredibly rare shows up and that pure adrenaline that follows. I feel like spoofing would completely kill that feeling. At that point, why even play anymore?
