Actually, there's one instinct gym where I am. But that gym is in a park weirdly placed, not a lot of people go there because it can be accessed from only one side. That gym is usually low lvl and the update didn't change that.
There's actually a 900 clefable and a 1200 nidoqueen in it.

My last big haul, will try to just take three or four gyms daily now and slowly collect the dineros for 4 more bag upgrades to max it out. After that, who knows, but most likely an incubator here or there since I do miss the ones I got while turning Lv 30 already. Winter's coming however, so while there's no snow yet the weather clearly isn't cooperating with me, got very cold hands while taking down a level 10 gym that had been left alone in the center of town for a week.

I drive around my state a lot (northern illinois). A lot small towns still have low level gyms despite the gym update. A few are at the very bottom of level 10 gyms and have held up for a few days so far. Firemons are easy due to strong weakness to water, same with rock/ground. Grassmon are easy because of fire. Psychics like hypno are good, but they're rarely a high enough CP to matter. Same goes for normal types, many are like mini-snorlax, but their cp cap is just too low.

A small herd of Seadra are great for prestiging gyms.

With the new gym meta, 4 Poliwhirl or 4 Ivysaur are also more likely to land you two or three great prestigers than rolling the dice on one Poliwrath or Venusaur. Going for the full evolution gives you not just the risk of a poor moveset and the certainty that he'll be at the bottom of a gym. Only time I'd use a high CP 1800-2000+ Poliwrath in a gym would be to put him in the middle of a gym with a bunch of 1200CP mons below him so fellow teammates could still prestige it up.
