I've gotten to the point in this game where I don't remember any of it. The last time I've played Gale of Darkness this far is when it came out 11 years ago.

The snag machine recently got stolen so no new captures for a while. The first battle after the snag machine got stolen, the game taunted me with a shadow Politoed with drizzle but I couldn't catch it.

I always fall off of my nuzlockes when these threads die, so I'm gonna get back into my Bullshit Platinum run. Here's the team so far, I'm in Canalave, I remember my rival killed something recently but it beats the hell out of me what it was. I have a Gardevoir in the box on par with the rest of the team but I have no interest in using it, I don't care for the line and there's no Fairy type.

So, I have a question.

I started a Blaze Black Nuzlocke a while back, and after beating Clay, I put it on hiatus. I kept copious notes with the intention of having my artist friend illustrate it as a comic, but unfortunately, he went overseas, which was the impetus for said hiatus. That being said, I meant to go back to it just to finish it, so when my friend comes back it's all done and we can get straight to work.

However, I've lost the .sav files on my computer. So, I'm at a crossroads: do I just cut my losses and accept this run will only ever be half-finished, or do I "cheat" so that I can recreate my stopping point and go from there (according to the document, at least)?

Help me out, /nzg/, you're my only hope.

you need to be really conservative early on, pick one pokemon and grind it up to level 7/8 before you start switch training, when you take a hit note the damage and always switch out if a crit would kill (in the early game crit damage seems to be nomal hit damage * 2 + 1), heal frequently

Started up a Crystal randomized game, just got finished with the beginning errand boy crap and about to hunt for my encounters.

I'm adding my own little twist to this playthough. I'm making each Pokemon I decide to add to my team cost a certain amount of points (provided the info in my template). I figured this would prevent me from potentially getting an OP team too early on into the game and add a little more strategic challenge. We'll see as my playthrough progresses.

Pretty happy with my current squad so far, especially encountering Chikorita I never use it as a starter choice in normal games so she's probably my favorite grab thus far.

Lost Masquerain to a some Aqua grunts on my way to heal, took a crit stone edge, you did us good friend. Matt was scary but we came out okay. Bisharp dominated the Mossdeep gym with some assistance from Cacturne. Now heading towards the final battle with Team Aqua and Kyogre. Faye 6-0'd his Flying type team with Expert Belt-boosted Rock Slides and Fusion Bolts. Considering the previous three "boss" battles all posed at least somewhat of a challenge, this was a little too much of a cakewalk. Morimoto & the other Game Freak guy are next on my hitlist, let's see if they can bring some real challenge to the table (although first I will gain a couple of levels so I don't end up getting overwhelmed by the gauntlet of level 78s)

I was late on the weekend Red++ hack because of work and I won't be able to play much today either but I got my first badge.

My party is Nidorino, Charmeleon, and Porygon. I'm allowing one wonder trade prior to fighting each gym, and I lucked out with Porygon. Not sure if/how it evolves in this hack though.

In the box are Rattata, Ekans, Magikarp, and Butterfree. Tried to get a Mt. Moon capture but the wild Zubat died to a crit, unfortunately.

No deaths so far but I attribute that to ridiculous luck.

Are you playing with Drayano's changes to movesets/stats etc? If so, that Glaceon is absolutely amazing (can learn Grass Knot and eventually Earth Power), my Glaceon carried me all the way up to Lance, kept me from wiping twice when the rest of my team had died.

On that note, good luck. Two warnings: the game might not be so hard now, but once you arrive in Azalea Town, prepare yourself for anything. Also, when you're in Goldenrod City, avoid the underground just for a bit. You'll be really glad you did.

Since I learned that tutor move compatibility is translated one-on-one rather than distributed randomly like TMs and since I knew Spore replaced Dragon Pulse as a tutor move, I knew what to do. Every time I get a Beldum in a nuzlocke, it can never evolve all the way to Metagross. It almost always dies as a Metang at around level 40.

I want to do something I call a nuzluck run, where I change the shiny chance to about 1% or so and can only catch shinies. Any idea on how to go about that?

Thankfully, Routes 3 and 4 are separate, so while I'm depriving myself of a post-Mt. Moon capture, I have obtained the legendary fishe.

A quick question about the party size.
Do I use always train a party of six or am I allowed to limit the amount to 3 active pokemon so I don't get underleveled?

What do the classic rules say?

My philosophy is that if you white out, you lose, no matter how many spares you have in the box. So while limiting your party size will let you keep up in level, it will also be a risk in having less backup.

most people use the gym clause with their games so it's not really possible to overlevel. if you want to solo every gym at the same level they are with your starter, then go for it

Feelin' really good about this run so far. Got some amazing pulls from the grass and everyone feels super beefy.

Considering swapping out Meowth for that Drowzee since I've never managed to use one before and it seems interesting.
