The "Pokemon Anime Disscussion Threads" need to be heavily moderated.

At this point in time the discussion thread is pretty much unusable due to the high amount of shitposting, falseflagging, and non-anime related discussion that takes place in it.

The anime threads have devolved into:

>Shipping posts and arguements
>Image dump and spam
>The same small handful of shitposters who monitor the threads all day posting the same things over and over again
>Those same shitposters replying to their own posts
>Pokegirl Porn posting
>Gore or literal shit picture posting
>Copypastas
>Obvious bait posts to try and make the threads go faster and become less usable
>Posting Pokemon Youtuber links who discuss the anime
>Talking about irrelevant users on other websites like tumblr, serebii forums, or bulbagarden

The little discussion that takes place in the threads usually stops once the shitposters arrive and start interjecting into it.

The anime threads used to be some of the best on /vp/ for quite sometime, but now they're just a shadow of its former self. We go through multiple threads a day, probably one of the top generals that get new threads made each day on /vp/. This wouldn't be the case if there was more moderating the threads to delete the obvious garbage that fills the threads.

I dont see a problem with a once a week hg thread, everyone has fun and it gets it out of everyone's system for a while. Other than needing better mods that will actually get rid of all the spam threads such as the genwars threads, fake leak threads and the porn/smogon hate threads things seem fine.

Poke Men, Poke Waifu threads only on weekends.
Remove Pokefucker threads.
Remove Youtuber threads.

Increase in moderation to get rid of spam, shitposting, and trash threads.

Have a testing period to see if ID's should be implemented. Have a month or whatever to see what effect it has on the board to see whether things get better, worse, or stay the same.

I think that HG threads should be on /trash/, and I have reported them as such in the past, but as a fair compromise I think having a weekly event wouldn't be unfair to both parties, provided it was well structured and contained.

I think the arguments behind ID's have merit, but I also think that as this is an anonymous board that doing so might infringe upon anonymity.

What might be an interesting compromise here is instead of ID's but friend codes being identifiers, or at the very least an option for OP's to make a thread be a Friend-Code-ID thread only where posters have to post the following.

Doing this unites /vp/ and brings us closer together allowing for more connection in the real world, but it also gives individuals an opportunity to enforce identification in a pokemon-related manner but not make it mandatory board wide.

I think moderation could take what we've all agreed upon in unison and begin to enforce that, but the things we are mixed on warrant further discussion.
