I went back and compare the cries made by the thing in Lillie's bag during the demo and that made by UB-01 in the US trailer.

They are different. The thing in Lillie's bag made a series of digitized squeaks. UB-01 however, has a cry that sounds like a series of chimes with a pause in the middle and lasts longer that the cry of the thing in Lillie's bag. I also notice that the Zygarde Core in the anime has a lot of varieties in its cries but it sometimes make noises similar to the thing in Lillie's bag.

I just don't know anymore.

Starting with something that no one really touches upon

In the japanese trailer for the Z-Ring reveal, Hala says that the Z-Ring was created by a group calling themselves the Princesses of Pokemon.

We know from Alolan Meowth's description that there was an Alolan Royal Family but the monarchy was eventually destroyed.

Alola doesn't have a Pokemon League, or gyms for that matter, and is arguably the most peaceful Pokemon region we've visited, so what reason would the Princesses of Pokemon have to create the Z-Rings which power up a Pokemon's attack when used alongside Z-Crystals when there was seemingly no sign of a threat?

And how exactly did the monarchy end? And how did the Z-Crystals get in Alola? Mega Rings and Mega Stones were created during and after the Kalos War, 3000 years ago. Maybe Alola had a war and the Z-Rings were made then? But then the question is, who were the people of Alola fighting against?

The Ultra Beasts? Solgaleo and Lunaala, which would explain the creation of Type: Null? Or maybe an even bigger threat that we don't know of? Marshadow

This is what I expect:

Maybe the Ultra Beasts are the ultimate form of the "bond between man and pokemon" that got started by mega evolution and continues with Z moves and the synchro. Essentially they are not one or the other, but both. UB-01 looks incomplete on its own. The description mentions it "acting like" a young girl. Maybe its just a segment of a whole being so it only gets some characteristics.
