You should give it a try anon, the challenge is it replaces the original types with 12 new ones with all new weaknesses and resistances and almost all trainer battles are double battles. There are level spikes during event and gym battles, but they're not too brutal, just gotta be prepared. It's Sweet Version in case you didn't know

From what I've observed, Mali Uromastyx enjoy social interaction but when you get one you're suppose to hide it's food for three days or so, so it just doesn't become an eat and sleep machine. And I think some tortoises are intelligent enough to understand.

finally i feel confident to move past cherrygrove, not taking any chances. not having an easily winnable rival battle at the very beginning really makes a huge difference, without that headstart and considering this is a drayano hack it was quite arduous to grind ziggy up

Man, I had no idea aftermath was even a thing, but maybe if I used antidote right away to cure the toxic at the begging of Proton's battle and through that skipped a turn Magnus would still be alive.

I also wonder if Bugsy will also have 6 pokemon, regardless though I'm sure Scamp and Mojave can carry with their ember attack.

Welp, lost Chunkysoup the Bidoof while grinding before the rival fight. About to get the Poketch though. Last time I encountered an Abra on the route he was on, but it fled. I just hope I have better luck this time.

I'm making a hack with a 721 rom base but I want to use some alternate starters.
Currently thinking of using Swablu and Riolu but I'm not sure how to close it off. I want a type triangle but can't think of a good two stage mon with a mega or a better set of three pokemon that I could use.

Well it turns out the ONLY Pokemon I can still catch in the area is Abra. Of course I'd love to have one, but the chances aren't great.

Okay, Badge 2 in randomized White2 get. Roxie was a tough bitch with her new squad. Imagine Dragon Types I guess.

I steamrolled over Latios and Vibrava of one trainer. Over Garchomp of the second one. 2HKO'd Roxie's Giratina. Her Dragonair was way tougher but I managed to beat him without losses.

But in the meantime I lost Electrike to Bagon's critical Bite.

I feel like this gym was mocking me.

Hot damn was bugsy a tough fight, Those fucking U-turns and sword dances. Unfortunately Puck fell in battle against scyther's bullshit wing attack but he help setup the poison that helped to defeat Scyther.

I feel as if I over grinded after the gym battle, Bugsy was a tough fight so I expected Jewburg to be equally tough but his pokemon aren't even level 20 yet. But knowing that Whitney is coming up I'd rather over grind then wipe.

Being overlevelled means that, for the first time in a long time, I haven't lost one Pokemon. It's a nice feeling but Cynthia might change things.

On set you don't get the option to switch when your opponent throws out their next pokemon so unless you've played the game before, you don't know what they'll send out and it's a nice challenge, you don't know what to expect. But if you don't like it then just keep it shift

Ello /nuz/. Lot's of new Pokémon in this new Region.

Just beat Misty in Sacred Gold with only a few problems. Tapio took everthing out except Golduck, Starmie and Lapras. Seriously, 193 sp. atk. with Giga drain is amazing.

Bishamonte Close Combated Lapras without as hassle.

Hades took out Starmie, but took one of his Psychics, leaving him just below half. Being cocky, I decided not to healhim ,believing he'd take out Golduck in one hit. He didn't, leaving him dead. Minyades took him out with Poison fang.

The rest got taken out by Tapio, but Misty's full restore shenanigans on Vaporeon was fucking annoying.

Who should I take for Surge? I don't want Steelix because his speed is terrible.

Finally back home and can update how my successful League/Plasma run went on Black. This was definitely one of the most fun runs I've ever done, and somehow, despite his fucking name, Harambe Jr managed to survive until the end. Eh, I'll keep it short, wanna describe Ghetsis since it got pretty tense.

N was pretty easy, Harambe Jr trained for this, beat down every legendary we could find beforehand. Basically, Harambe Jr goes up against Zekrom and tanks while I boost him with battle items, he then sweeps N's entire team.

Ghetsis was more intense, went down like this:

First of all, my party is all healed up because the rival heals it after the fight.

I was scared that ORAS would be too easy but the no healing during combat clause and set clause make it harder than I thought.

I got fucked, I lost Ms Loud to his wailmer. It used whirlpool and I couldnt switch out. Last thing she was able to do before dying was use supersonic.

Santa Muerte took out wailmer no problem.

Ugly one shotted his shroomish with a critical hit.

His combusken was scary since my team is really weak to fire but I decided Ugly was my best bet. She tanked a flame charge, barely surviving and killed combusken with another critical hit.

RIP Ms Loud, you will not be forgiven, Ugly avenged you.


Kinda fucked for Watson now, don't have anything to deal with his magneton. I have a zubat, a magikarp and an electrike in my pc. Nothing useful to catch on route 117.

My best bet will be powerup punch in the mauville mart.

Harambe Jr and his friends will continue their journey some other day. I'm probably gonna roll the successful black nuzlocke into a continuity with postgame Black, and Black 2 some other time, maybe do a comic. For now, I'm gonna continue my original goal of playing a game from each region, so next up will be Y version with some special rules. Here's what I'm thinking:

I won the Pokemon League! Idk why there is a ratatta instead of a Dusknoir, but okay. I won.

I only lost my Mawile to Wallace's Gyarados. Machamp is the MVP. He killed almost a third of the Elite 4/Wallace's pokemon with 9 kills. I thought he was going to be a the weakest link going in the Elite 4 since he hasn't been all that spectacular when I had him as a Machop.

With gift pokemon, I just put it on the dead box and catch the wild pokemon instead. Only if you were forced to receive it (not including starter). Nuzlocke doesn't really start until you get your pokeballs.

I read from the document provided with the download to receive the item I need to do an in game trade, so If I can't find a trade with my living or dead pokemon (if I trade a dead one I won't use the pokemon received) I'll just capture a pokemon that's being requested for trade, trade it, and then release the pokemon after taking it's item.

After a long grinding session, I got my two new team members Cerberus and Little Mac caught up.

Volkner was pretty easy. His whole team was weak to either water or ice so Sfeel destroyed him.

Hopefully nothing bad happens in victory road. I like this team a lot.

Mars has been dealt with a second time, and this went about as well as the first time, she is definitely the one to watch out for.

I don't get the Nuzlocke explanation

"Let's start with the bare bones rules of a Nuzlocke
first pokemon you see on a route or in a town, that's the pokemon you catch. No exceptions, if you fail to catch it, tough shit. Move on without it."

The hell is this supposed to mean? That i need to use every pokemon i see in the wild? That i need to replace my starter with the first wild pokemon and then its game as normal (except for the fainting = dead part)?

It means, you catch the first Pokemon you see, not any after.

You have a starter, you're on Route 1, the first Pokemon you see is a Rattata, you must catch it. You can use both of them, but you can't catch anything else on Route 1 now, you've got the first Pokemon you encountered, that is it.

When you enter a new location for the first time, you can ONLY catch the very first Pokemon you encounter there. Whether you use it or not is up to you entirely.

Each Route is an area. Towns are an area (unless you get something like an Egg there, then that counts as that Town, there are exceptions to that rule due to story reasons such as Togepi in Gen 2/4).

Caves are a bit of a hot topic, some people consider the entire cave one area, others consider each floor a different area. Typically most consider that the entire cave, unless a latter part is visited during the story and has drastically different Pokemon, such as Mt. Coronet in Gen 4.

Otherwise, yeah, each named area is a different catch, and you can choose how to catch things, Headbutt/Honey, Fishing, Grass, etc., but its always the first thing you encounter you must catch, if you kill it, no catch.

I've never seen this debated. Caves are one area, otherwise it would be too easy to stockpile catches (especially when most floors have similar catches available, it heavily increases the odds of getting a rarer pokemon).
Mt. Coronet is the only one I would really see an exception to, but even then I've never seen anyone do that since most of the pokemon available there are available on Route 216 anyways.
Gifts/eggs/fossils are pretty debatable though. I personally consider a gift/egg to be the encounter of wherever I got it and the fossil to be the encounter of wherever I revived it. Some people like to say gifts are separate but I don't agree with that because then you could get like an eevee AND a porygon AND a dratini (fishing) in celadon, for example. Especially in Drayano hacks, you could easily get 4 catches in storm silver goldenrod (starter, fossil, game corner, rotom) if the gifts weren't an encounter. Some people just decide not to use gifts at all.

Started looking at the logs because I got tired of reloading. I think I just got really unlucky three times in a row getting two natural starters + a psuedo. Ran a few more and started seeing normal shit like Bellsprout and Ralts.

I mean look at Mt. Coronet, there are some Pokemon that are straight up impossible to get on a nuzlocke if you do that. I mean I agree with Mt. Moon and Rock Tunnel and such, but there are exceptions to it. I mean all it really does in the end is give you likely one more Pokemon than you would otherwise have just due to parts of it with completely different Pokemon being barred off from you because of story reasons.

What's the popular consensus on losing a match? Do you get to try again, or what?

Personally I find out through Bulbapedia how many floors does a cave have, and then randomnize which one I'm catching a Pokémon on.

This allows you to potentially catch any Pokémon in a cave, as opposed to just the faggot on the first floor.

Eh I was wary of it since it was his last pokemon. Was planning to growl-spam it down to minimum attack power. an effort that was stalled by his use of work up. by the time I had him down all the way and out of pp for work up he had 2 stockpile stacks.
