I'm at school now so my Blaze Black nuzlocke will have to be put on hold.
In the meantime, I'll be doing a Soul Silver nuzlocke instead! I don't usually roll for the starter but I can't really decide right now so let's go!

So in my off time, giving my Pokemon some more to do, growing their personality and my love of them before something inevitable and brutally murders them despite my surprisingly clean run so far.

Is there a good way to make poffins on Platinum for an emulator? It seems hard and annoying and sometimes the thing doesn't want to register the rotation entirely. Is Lv. 15 or so the highest Poffin you can make, because that was near perfect and can you make them faster than a minute?

I'm not really sure how any of that works, never did it before.

All right, team fully grinded. I decided to replace Psyduck with Sealeo since I could get more coverage and STAB as well as having more bulk. Since I haven't been buying any items at all in this run (only using what I've picked off the ground, self set rule), I had a lot of money so I went to the Game Corner and bought some TMs.
Psychic for Hayato and Flamethrower for Alissa specifically.

That went better than expected. No deaths, Godot swept the entire thing with Growth + Faint Attack/Giga Drain. Solrock actually helped me win by giving me a Chlorophyll boost.

I took the best suggestions from both. Lampara returns to the party after a long absence and will replace Bolt, whereas Poliwag will make up for Pulse.

Basic Badge get, Cheren had LUvdisc and Squirtle, and frankly, kids on my way to him were tougher. Electrike continues being useless, hope grinding can change that. Team still consists of him, Glaceon, Cranidos and Sigilyph, i decided to go for double grass in Vir Complex.

Sorry I haven't been updating, Johto's just kind of boring near the beginning.

Most of the boxedmons are boxed because they have godawful natures. Croconaw's actually Modest himself but I'll try to make him own it. Bugsy was kind of annoying but luckily U-turning into Metapod = free heals. I've got a massive electric weakness but hopefully that'll be fixed before it becomes too big of a problem. I'm looking forward to getting Sudowoodo.

Wew, big update after last time. If any of you were around earlier, you saw 4/6 of my team get wiped on various trainers throughout Route 8, it was a horrible morning. Somehow, Harambe Jr still survives.

I got together a new team of box mons and spent a while grinding them up, just took on Drayden. Col. Kurtz solo'd his entire gym with Icicle Crash. With a new team ready, Route 10 and Victory Road is next.

Also daily reminder that Agito is the hope of mankind.

Just defeated Erika and added Watergoat to my team.

Need your opinion, I'm thinking of maybe switching Primeape with hitmonlee. Never used any of them on any previous run.

On one hand hitmonlee is a stronger fighting type but on the other hand primeape is faster and can learn rock slide, covering his weakness.


my last 2 choices will be a grass type (since there's like 4 routes with like 60% chance of getting a grass type in yellow where I didnt get any encounter) and either a vulpix or the first safari mon I can found.

Only got males on my team, all our dicks are out for Harambe and our fallen comrades.

So I went to grind Ike by fishing pokemon right outside violet city, It was going great, I thought it was ezpz xp but then all of a sudden this motherfucking level 14 Tentacool comes out of nowhere and destroys Ike. If I didn't panic I would have gotten away with only the loss of Ike by switching to Mojave destroying Tentacool easily but I goofed and sent out Lana who i thought could resist tank.

- No grinding above the next leaders ace mons level.
- No items in battle.

They're not so bad once you pass the first few gyms, but before that the no items rule is a fucking monster.

I think Jumpluff is my new favorite Grass-type. Leech Seed, Poison Powder, and Synthesis is too much fun to use. This guy ends every turn with a net gain of HP while the foe gets sapped dry. Stone cold.

I have hand-drawn a few but if you're putting any extra effort into them, they're such a time investment. Hell, these templates alone are enough to keep me busy.

They're great art exercise though, I was actually really proud of the last one I did, which was a few years ago, actually. It was LeafGreen, and I remember drawing Mankey with this really great, constantly pissed off expression. I had a lot of fun with the fight scenes.

Assuming Big Nugger knows a rock move, I'd say give it a few levels and try to evolve Slowpoke (if it evolves at 33, I have never trained one and don't know to take a STAB hit or two, I know they're somewhat bulky. I'd say the same for Stormy Ann, then only take the 3 so you don't get a team wipe. You're running a pretty big risk.

Alright lads, it's come down to this. I've done my grinding, and it's time to take the league. This has been a great run, whatever happens. Harambe Jr was a joke addition who was supposed to die like his namesake, but he's become the team mascot and carried everyone this far. How do I look? I'm mostly going to be relying on Agito's speed and attack for the Ghost/Psychic leaders. I'm mostly worried about facing N and Ghetsis later on, it's gonna be a ringer.

Just beat Chuck, stopping here for now. Might pop into that cave where Lugia is for a new pokemon before challenging the Olivine gym but I'm such a goddamn steamroller right now that I feel like any new Pokemon I catch at this point will just be clutter.

Crystal is one of the easier Nuzlockes, right? There was some danger at first but now it feels like a cakewalk. I love my team but they're just destroying everything in sight. It's satisfying, but I haven't gotten any intensity from a battle since Morty.

But then again, while looking it up, I apparently fought Pryce WAY ahead of schedule which may explain why Chuck was even weaker.

It wouldn't work for Kanto either, if you can't use a Pokemon center or items, you have no way of healing. Something in Viridian Forest will eventually kill you, either the trainers or poison.

Even then, you have to beat Brock in FRLG to get the running shoes and go past the NPC towards Mt. Moon.

The only way its plausible for any game is if you spend hours and hours grinding and even then that is risky early game. I legit do not think it is possible in any main game.

Its theoretically possible if you get a good randomizer going. Something with Dragon Rage for instance (if that is even possible). Eventually you could buy heal balls for catches. Though you'd still need to find a way to get PP back.

I don't know I always think that pokemon don't learn any moves after they evolved with a stone. It's some archaic notion still in my head from when I was younger and didn't understand the games as much.

Since this is my first time playing Storm Silver I was not expecting Falkner to have 6 pokemon. I'm excited to see how the other gym battles will go. Almost lost Scamp from Falkner's Chatot's uproar attack, Shit did like 20 damage per attack; I had to risk Scamp to get rid of Chatot. Roost was very obnoxious to deal with but my team and I prevailed. Ended up burning through 20 potions.

IMO, Crystal. Beside the level scale issue I think the game holds up really well, and the gen 2 graphics and sound effects are simple yet charming in a way. If you want something updated graphics then by all means play liquid crystal, plus it has another region. I'm just advocating for original to experience it as it was, then in the future sometime do liquid crystal

The thing that turns me off most drayano hacks is how bloated the routes are with pokemon, for instance the first routes always have the generic ratata and the generic pidgey so you can run into
