So, I was looking at these rankings, and it seems everything BUT Pokemon, except Naruto of course, airs on a Friday night or a weekend.

Pokemon is the only show to air on a school night and pull in ratings to compete with shows that air on weekends.
And I remembered a while back when some 2ch guy said that the show was going to be moved to a Sunday and that was the topic of discussion for a while, but what if they actually did it? It would certainly make up for any ratings loss that they suffered (if they even actually suffer a real ratings loss from this).
Point is, I don't think the show is going anywhere, I can't believe it pulls these ratings even with a handicap.

I know it's easy to reply with "DELUSIONALFAGS" with the rage we're feeling over the outcome of the league, but can we at least agree that parts of this are at least slightly fishy? It's a fact that a lot of reactions to the fight were of confusion. Things didn't feel quite right, like Goodra's family watching on and all the buildup.

Why did they redo the shuriken, remove the glowing red, and the black shonen finisher markings?

Why is Lysandre interested in Ash-Greninja when he already most of the energy he needed? Without having even seen him stack up his skills to Alan?

And if he wants him this bad, is it really a stretch to present the idea that a mega-evolution gathering device could be manipulated in Team Flare's favor?

Alan fighting for Team Flare right afterwards--all this chaos--isn't is to setup Alan's downfall? Stripping him of the victory he wanted so much could turn things around for his character.

It's all farfetch'd, but it isn't impossible. At the very least I'm expecting something to soften the blows of Ash's loss. Whether that be explaining the going ons behind the battle (if there's anything to explain other than the shuriken itself), or whether it's Ash becoming something bigger than a league champion, I don't know.

At the bare MINIMUM, Ash would want a rematch on Greninja vs Charizard, since that's what it came down to in the end. And if they find out the shuriken was nerfed, Ash would want to replay that battle.

Though that sounds more likely than another 6v6, so Ash would probably settle for a 1v1. Not for the trophy--just because he's Ash and he wants to see the true outcome of their fight.

People will hate it, but that's what I love about XY Ash.

XY ended up being my personal AOTS at least twice during it's run. So long as the quality is kept up to be the same as it was for XY overall, I expect SM to be pretty great too.
There was barely any filler, and even there only 3 of the fillers were not worth watching. And it gave some of the best fillers it had to offer. Pretty amazing honestly.

If they keep up the quality and I can get another 3 years of a fun 22 minutes to look forward to each week, and three movies to go along with it, I'll take it.

Yes. Every single arc aside Kanto and Unova gave Ash a good run at the league to show that his efforts were worthwhile.

This entire arc built up Ash and Greninja as incredible in ways never seen before. Hell, imperfect ash greninja cornered mega fucking gardevoir AND fought evenly with alan's mega charizard.

Having him go down in such a half-assed way is the actual problem, not the loss itself. Every single occasion prior with the exception of Kanto and Unova gave him something to really push the idea that his efforts were worthwhile.

The others were blazes of glory in otherwise unknown territory that served to cement ash's progress as impressive and generally worth the effort; the fight against Alan basically shat on the entire arc leading up to it.
