Seriously, what was even the point of the red shuriken? In fact, what was the point of Ash Greninja as a whole?! They finally give him something special, something unique, that no other trainer in the WORLD has, as a means for him not getting a Mega Evolution, and he just loses. I'm probably gonna be proven wrong during the whole Flare arc (hopefully), but for now, Greninja was just a massive plot device to win over fans until he looses.

They built up so much hype for the shuriken and for the final match, and don't get me wrong, it was a hype battle, but it is just...just...I have no words. If he does not get anything for helping save the Kalos region, I just...I can't. I'm hoping that maybe, at the end of the Flare arc, Alain might give his trophy to Ash, since he would've saved the region and all that, plus possibly out of guilt for helping Flare in the first place, but I'm not holding my breath.

Even if he does go to Alola. what is he even supposed to do? There is no League for him to compete in. There are no badges. Until I'm proven otherwise, there are only 4 Trial Captains, and probably 4 Kahunas. That is hardly a league.
