Another update. Finally got around to playing my run again, after spending the last few days being busy and working on my romhack some more.

I've just entered the beautiful city of Cerulean, and the team is as follows:

Pharika was my catch outside of Mt. Moon (after encountering 3 Elektrikes in a row)

I had a close call coming out of the mountain; Daretti, Prossh, and Ashling were poisoned by the scientists Gulpin, and I kept swapping out on poison so I could make the hike to the Pokecenter without any deaths.

I swapped out Pharika for Arcanis the Marshtomp (20) temporarily, although Pharika will not be joining the party. I've decided to leave my 6th slot open.

I sat temporarily because he's going to be my ace against Magby; god knows I need it. He will be boxed afterwards until his services are required to get me an EXP Share.

Grinding for Cheren's gym in Black 2. Team is

I just spent the last few hours randomizing Pokemon Y so that I could Nuzlocke it. Also I improved all the gym leaders teams giving them 6 pokemon and mega evolutions while also increasing Pokemon's catch rates so I don't get unloucky running into a bunch of near uncatchable pokemon. Switch out Oddish for Budew and you can raise that baby to be the most powerful Grass/Poison Sp. Attacker besides Mega Venusaur: Roserade. I used Roserade for my casual playthrough of Y, and it was a beast. I can't imagine the wonders it would pull off in a Nuzlocke.

Well, fuck me.
Everything was great until Aggron OHKO my camerupt with Super Power. Wiped Aggron with an Aqua Tail, but to my horror Lorelei's last Scozor had Wonder Guard...

I tried switching back and forth with Clefable spamming Sweet Kiss to make him kill himself.
Until a wellplaced Iron Head rekt me.

I have no way to win now, and will suffer defeqt. Even if I did manage to hold on until his struggle death my lone Gyarados can't take on the whole E4, and I don't want to grind boxmons... I should just accept my fate.

I utterly decimated Wattson's Gym thanks to Sodalite. Mud Shot made easy work of every Poké in there, but that didn't stop me from prepping for the Gym with my other Pokémon. Sugilite evolved into Loudred, and every other member is either breaking Lv20, or just above it. I also caught two new members, a Plusle named Mookaite, and a Poochyena named Granite. I boxed Mookaite, but I placed Granite in the Party to fill the sixth spot. Maybe I should box Granite instead, and bring out Pebble so I can grind him up to become a might Gyarados? Besides all that, I've been fortunate enough to only come face-to-face with Death again, but never shake his hand. I've had a few close calls, especially one time where Sugilite was Poisoned, Leech Seeded, and Absorbed, all in one turn leaving her at 2 HP. Never again.

Just picked up NUGGET!

Two of my friends are up for nuzlocking the same game together a few evenings. I would really love this but last time me and one of them did Firered, and they haven't played past gen 3 so they really wanna do HG/SS. One of them tried to casually play it a while back so he knows how unstable it is. They don't want to bother unless we can find a way around it.

So I'll just ask out of desperation; does anyone know of a fix or workaround for all the crashing and glitching in HG/SS on emulators? I know not savestating helps but it doesn't quite make it good enough, I did some testing and the game glitched and froze when I was approaching the sprout tower.

Randomized Red nuzlocke, got scyther as my starter. Just won a gym battle against Brock and his team of Grimer and Nidorina

Playing Storm Silver, just training up to face Falkner.

Yet another update.

Ironically, of the four new members the two I wanted to use died and the two I wanted to box survived. No regrets here though - Haunter's amazing. I'm pretty confident this game goes by Gen III learnsets which means that Eevee loses absolutely nothing from being boxed until I find a Water Stone.

And in case you're curious, Eevee/Vaporeon's name would've been "BOX OF RAIN".

Munna is a pretty nice tank and adds a good Fighting resist to your team. However, it's also Lonely Nature (+ Attack, - Defence) which is a little less than ideal. If the bad nature doesn't matter to you I'd go ahead and train it.

Do R/S/E work on a ds flashcart i dont own ruby anymore but i much rather prefer to play games on the console than on computer.

Misty was surprisingly tough. She had a Shelder and a Gyrados, the shelder was one hit KO'd by my Weezing, but Gyrados was a tank and a hard hitter. The only way he didnt wipe me was because Weezing managed to get a poison off on a sludge attack and that made his AI spam withdraw when it could have finished off my weary pokes.

Took on Falkner with these guys. Not too difficult. A few surprises though.

Sekhmet surviving a crit Tackle from Pidgeotto, leaving her with 1 hp!!
Swablu using solarbeam with power herb came out of nowhere, as did Farfetch'd with Poison Jab.
Hephaestus did it's job as tank quite well, taking down Pidgeotto. I think it'll be my main Team Rocket fighter.

Carcinus was placed in the box, I don't need two water types. Speaking of which, who should I swap out for Abu the Bulbasaur? Bootes or Sekhmet?

Also, when does Flareon learn fire moves? I thought level 15, but when he leveled up nothing happened.

Larvitar/Vaporeon rise among the ranks. We lose an amazing team member who we knew was probably gonna die but I wasn't careful enough, darn it! Barely got through Flo without losing somebody. Kingdra was spamming Outrage and managed to crit Vaporeon which really scared me. I was ready to sack Phanpy but fortunately Kingdra hit itself on the last turn. Brutal stuff.

Next Gym is Grass, which is gonna be a nightmare. I hope I can catch something to deal with it by then. I might just hypergrind Magneton and try to solo it with that.

The two cornerstones of my team have been lost...

I'm not sure where to go from here. My team has been dismantled for the moment. I don't really know how to continue. Pidgeot is absolute fucking garbage, even when it was over leveled it couldn't compare to my other Pokémon in any way, shape, or form. Dugtrio is ready to go, but I might use Cubone or Swinub. I don't have any grass types that do anything. I have 3 open slots and I'm not sure who to fill them with, give me some advice.

I have a to do list, you can see I've been skipping a lot of things, and I need to start getting things done.

Please, give me some advice on how to continue. My two bros, my two best bros, bros that I've had in the past are gone, and they're holes that can't be filled with what I have. Tell me what I should do.

You actually have a lot of options from your boxed guys. I'd personally add Snorlax, Combusken, and Natu. They form a nice little core and their weaknesses (Electric, Water, Flying) are covered quite nicely by the rest of your team. Also, are you sure you want to use both Lanturn and Manectric?

Fucking Flannery, bro. The whole Gym was cake thanks to Lapis & Sodalite, but her Torkoal was raping the two of them with Overheat and Sunny Day. Not to mention she used TWO Hyper Potions. Flannery was my waifu of choice from Hoenn, but not after this. I don't think I could've taken either loss, so thank RNGesus for that. Also, Topaz is still with us, she's just in the PC so the li'l egg can hatch.

Before the Gym, there was the whole Aqua/Magma ordeal, and there were a few close deaths during those fights. I picked up a lot of new Pokémon in between Mauville and now, so I'll reply to this post with a picture of Box 1. Honestly, I'm so glad this run is going somewhat smoothly. Deaths have been bitter, yet there haven't been many. I think this is the only way I can enjoy Hoenn.

Lanturn was my early game water type and I just haven't hit a route recently with water, except where I grabbed Snorlax. I'll plan a bit better next time.

Magneton and Breloom are my resists - the problem is that they can't do much back. I'm grinding Magneton until it gets Tri Attack so it can at least get off a neutral hit but I'm not 100% sure this game has phys/spec split so if that doesn't work then this becomes that much harder.

Can't make up my mind on what to evolve my Eevee into in Platinum. Torn between Espeon, Vaporeon, and Glaceon. (Already have an electric type on my team, otherwise Jolteon may have won out.)
Glaceon is tempting, seeing as I've never used one in any game. Was thinking it could be my answer to Cynthia's Garchomp come the end of the game, but one flamethrower's probably turning the thing into an all syrup squishy.
Vaporeon & Espeon are always bro's, but I've used the shit out of them in SoulSilver runs. Though I could pick up the TM for Psychic in Veilstone, should I go with Espeon. Instead of having to wait to ungodly late in the game to have access to it line in some games. Thoughts?

If I were you, I'd see what Type you desperately need, and let the Eeveelution fill that need. I'd analyze what Gym you're at, or what Type of Pokémon you're fighting a lot of right now, and decide from there. In my personal opinion, I'd rather be safe than sorry, and choose either Vaporeon, or Espeon if they help you out a lot. Plus, they'd just become better BroMon in the future.

I'm only using pokemon gifted to me by NPCs, the Scyther is my starter and Weezing is from the guy selling magikarps outside Mt. Moon. The next pokemon to add to my team will be the Eevee from Celadon city, and the Abra from the game corner, though they'll be something else now.

All right, so I just got to Wally, and was able to cash in 4 Wonder Tickets.

I want to say that the most surprising thing was getting my starter back at Level 1 and with incomprehensible moonrunes for a name. I really do. But no, the most surprising thing was the Level 45 Braviary. Until I get the badges to control it, it's probably going to be sitting in the wings as a meat shield for when everyone else gets too low on HP.

Either way, my main attackers are a Lv. 1 breedject starter, a Cascoon that only knows Harden, and a Tentacool with Poison Sting. I'm not in the best shape. Time to grind.

So it's unfolding pretty nicely.

I've trained the Moonrunes Torchic up to Lv. 11 and the Tentacool up to Lv. 9, both are serving me quite well so far. (Who knew that Poison Sting of all moves was so useful? Also Clear Body is awesome, Tentacool just doesn't give a fuck). I haven't yet started on Cascoon.

I also recieved a Magikarp from Route 104 (Boxed) and a Lv. 1 Vanillite from Petalburg Woods (Keeper.) Moonrunes Vanillite is definitely a hidden ability breedject, which... isn't promising. I'm not sold very well on Weak Armor, especially in a 'locke setting, because it is literally trading away defenses for speed. Extremely risky. Either way, I'm keeping Vanillite and training it up for now.

Since disobeying doesn't affect running from encounters, i'd say brute-force grind in route 106 (116?) until Tentacool and Torchic are level 16, so you get Water Pulse and Double Kick Combusken respectively. Buy plenty of potions and use Tentacool for the Geodude(s) and Combusken for the Nosepass, to break Sturdy.
Keep Braviary as a panic-button if both of them get too low on health and you have no more healing items, a 30 level difference will make it so even a super effective Rock Tomb does little to nothing, and they have the same chance to obey as the other two iirc, so you could just brute-force. Godspeed.

Also, forgot to add: While i agree that Wonderlockes are relatively easy, they're also the most fun, even more than Randomizers (at least to me). The kind of stuff you get is always great. Sometimes you get a Zigzagoon, others you literally get two Phiones or Protean 4 IV Froakie. Case in point, my Feraligatr that i call "Murdercroc". Aqua Jet, Ice Punch, Crunch and Dragon Dance, EV trained for max attack. And my other team members are also cool: Greninja, Arcanine, Crobat, Breloom and Claydol. Stick it out and you'll have a lot of fun.
