Platinum has been a fun Nuzlockegame so far. Good EXP yields and pokemon distribution makes for solid teams despite only using the first encounter per route, assuming you do a no catching species you already have rule. Otherwise its 6 Zubat team the game.

Same location. Although, some people do opt to classify them and similar areas (Mt. Coronet's interior and exterior in DPPt for example) as separate locations, so that's down to your preference.

Does anyone have any unique rules?
I like to play with Pokemon Centers cost money.
Essentially they're 500 and go up another 500 every badge. I just buy super repels forthe cost since having a shitload of repels doesnt make the game any easier. In HGSS its been particularly tough, money pay outs are pretty low.

I've heard Y is easy when it comes to a Nuzlocke, and I remember the game itself was a cake-walk. I'd go with a Silver ROM. It seems more challenging, but if you're already going for a ROM, why not one of the Pre-Patched ones?

Probably not. If you run with two mons you're usually overleveled/ decently leveled, so it is hard to lose mons.

Leveling him to lv:13 was a bitch, even with double experience because he's a Traded mon, but all things considered it's better to have a disobedient Onix with with Rock Throw then a obedient one without a super effective move.

I am mostly concerned about Falkers levels and items, as Liquid loves to have trainers use those.

He's also my ace for Rollout Miltank and the Bug leader, I can't loose him or those two will fuck up my squad.

Will take on the gym once the Battle template and trainer is done.

Donphan was the original idea (even named Phanpy Fred Durst) to counter the Miltank but I decided to go for the Onix when I caught the Bellsprout.

Fred Durst also has Pickup, he already found him 2x PP UP and a Rare Candy, so I'm thinking of keeping Phanpy to get me shit while I'm traveling or grinding.
Might evolve him if need arises.

True, I like to keep a spare pickup mon around while I have empty slots (Zigzagoon is RSE, Meowth in FRLG).

I would recommend Phanpy if you haven;t used it much before. If you have though it wouldn't be as fun.

Anyone want to recommend a game for me to run through?

I just did a firered run, so preferably not Kanto.

Some interesting locke rules would be fun for variation as well.

Holy fuck, /vp/, I didn't want to be hurt this bad this early. I made it past Roxanne after some decent grinding but not without some casualties (attached picture is my current team). I left the Gym up to my two Poké's who I knew could easily sweep it, Apatite the Lotad, and Sodalite the Mudkip. Apatite took care of the trainers in the Gym, and the two even had a sick double battle together, but after Roxanne Potion'd her Nosepass twice, OUT OF NOWHERE comes a Critical Rock Tomb right onto Apatite. I was getting attached to that fucker. I also lost Sardonyx the Zigzagoon to some bullshit trainer whilst retrieving the Devon Goods, and Amethyst the Whismur to a wild Nincada. Good thing I was able to pick up a second Whismur, named Sugilite, in the caves. Here's to hoping that the death slows down a bit.

Alright, I've got a team of 6 Pokemon, I'll do some grinding before Misty's Gym though.
I'm going to evolve Eevee into Jolteon if I ever get a Thunderstone, because I have nothing strong against water types.
If I get a good grass type soon, I'll probably bench Hoothoot and evolve Eevee into an Espeon instead because I'm also lacking Pyschic types.

Roxie is definately the most challenging fight so far. After setting up toxic spikes with her Trubbish I swept that and her Koffing with Sheara's Charge Beam.

Whirlipede looked to finish the weakened Sheara so Putrid was sent in to tank the hits. After a long stall of her using Agility and me constantly Clear Smogging it away, Putrid finally overcame her ace at cost of both trainers using nearly all their healing items.

Harpie swooped in to taker her Croagunk out with a couple of Wing attacks. Tough match and a worthy challenge. This has been a blessed run so far!

Post Rock Tunnel Update:
Not much done today was a bit tired but trained up Fuamnach up to 24 then headed for Rock Tunnel.
Missed my capture on route 9 due to 1% chance to catch Beldum ran out of balls.

Goibniu was used to escort team through Rock Tunnel in the dark without flash , due to heavy fear of a wynaut encounter, but by final room realized it wasn't in the pool.

But the fear did make me miss my capture in rock tunnel so I have to make sure not to miss another one.

Gathered all my new catches in the Castellia area.
I decided to relegate Sir Dank to the reserves considering bugs are up next. Granmarg and KuumaLisko should give me the edge to beat Burgh easily (Fuck I jynxed it).

Nibbles the Rattata was caught in a sewer, emergency potion fodder I guess. Huge level spike hear too so time to get my gring on before taking on anymore trainers.

How hard do you reckon it would be to do a Colosseum/Gale of Darkness Nuzlocke?

Because the availability of pokemon is limited solely to 1-time encounters (XD being the exception, with Pokespots and Miror B) I'd throw the capture rule out.

But what about Shadow Pokemon? They have moves that are super against everything, and are level-locked until purified, plus run the additional risk of Hyper Mode.

I'm thinking that to balance the limited availability of mons, Shadow Pokemon could have multiple lives, but once purified, have the standard death rules in place.

This would encourage me to wait on purification, which results in under-leveled teams over time, but the risk of that would be offset by a Shadow having multiple lives.

Was lucky enough to catch Abra before misty, now I'm stuck with kadabra. Anyone wanna add me and trade then trade back?

Things are picking back up, my dudes. I just swept Brawly and his Gym with Topaz since she learned Gust at Lv13. It took some grinding to get her up to it before the fight with Brawly himself, but it was worth it. I picked up Pebble the Magikarp, and Aventurine the Tentacool, but they're in the PC since the next Gym doesn't exactly call for Water Types. Sodalite even evolved! But before I even left for Dewford, however, I lost Onyx the Poochyena to a Double Battle on my grind to level up the team to fight May again. Fucking School Kid...I don't want your goddamn phone number, I want Onyx back. Anywho, I'm sailing out of Dewford and going where Mr. Briney takes me!
