Luckily a local pokestop will spawn them with Lures, so people sit out there and constantly drop them so they can more or less farm the fuckers.

So having an "xl" next to its height / weight means it'll have higher stats, right? Is a pokemon's xl status retained after evolution? Or does evolving it completely reroll it?

Anyone know if downloading a map of your area is a legit way to save battery or is it bullshit?

How do you think Niantic will handle the game?

So I've seen the tracking guides with A B C, but how does it work if they're 3 steps away? I tried tracking one that was 3 away and it never disappeared off of my tracking guide no matter how far I walked. When I reset the game it was gone and didn't reappear at its original location.

Hey can we have some stories of postive effects this game has had around your town? I'm more then happy to post mine.
I've been a closet pokemon player for the longest time, playing and staying on top of the tcgo, vg, and now Go. I live in the downtown area of my city, and it's pretty sad as people never seem to walk around, despite there being sidewalks everywhere. Now that go is around, people are always walking to church, the parks, and the cafés, it's awesome. Never in my entire life have I ever seen people be able to just strike up conversations with people they have never met before, with no prior knowledge of one another. This game is boosting the social life of my entire town, and it's a beautiful sight. Now if only the plus would come out so people would stop running into telephone poles ;_;
Also the town is rapidly working on a solution for safety of our people, by installing some new streetlights, and cafés are thinking of having later hours, giving our town an actual nightlife. God Bless Pokemon Go, and may it have a long and sucessful life as a standard app on everyone's phones.

Yes my God we need some more variety in the trainers, It would be awesome to see the standard trainers from each gen have their clothes added, or maybe outfit pieces added as rewards for each medal, ace trainer clothes for example, or maybe titles for unlocking Gold Medals, that'd really encourage people to catch em all.

What does XL and XS mean and does it affect CP increase. How come my 1100 Vileplume only requires 1100 candy compared to Eevee 450cp needing 3000. How come some pokemon get +30cp when powered up when another pokemon only gets +9. Does weather affect pokemon spawn or affect an eevees evolution line. How come 2 mankeys caught within your same player level with the same CP have different lengths for max CP progression, is it XL XS? HOW COME NO-ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS

Dude, spoofing just takes the fun out of a great social game. Why on earth would you want to be the very best knowing you sat down the whole time and didn't even put in work? This as a game, is ruined by people deciding to make it just a competion to be won by cheating. I remember when I ARed pokemon in platinum, and ruined the mainline games for myself for some time. Don't do it man, cheating in a wonderful game like this won't make you happy, but playing it with your friends, and making new friends through it, is a very rewarding experience.

I get mad Evee, Venonat and Nidoran around me. Quite a few Bellsprouts and Drowzee too.

Apparently pollywag is pretty common for most people, but I haven't seen a single one. No meowth, Ekans, or Sandshrew either despite people saying they are common around them.

If I find a evolved Pokemon with nearly full CP and good moveset I keep that and train

If I can't find a good enough evolved Pokemon I get a base Pokemon with nearly full White Bar and evolve that and also hope for a good moveset

So absically whatever the pat both take the same amount of candies the only difference is the use of stardust thata s of now is quite limited to get depending of where you are

What determines what pokemon spawns at a specific area?

For example in my house i always see pidgeys, arbok, ekans, ponytas, eevees, and geodudes, and i rarely see more pokemon aside from those, so what determines what pokemon will spawn in each area of the GPS map? if i go to a beach will i find water type pokemon?

Stop. Attack slowly, two or three times. Wait for the yellow flash, then swipe sideways to dodge. If it says they're using their special, depending on what move it is you may need to dodge more than once.

This also makes your special moves risky because you have an attack animation to go through while they can still attack. Sometimes it's better to not use it so you can dodge and preserve health.

My spawn is a mix-mash of the typical stuff, Pidgeys and Rats (both of which I assume are just in every spawn anyway), Venonat, Weedle, and assorted grass types like Bellsprout/Oddish/Exeggcute.

Also for whatever reason I get a SHIT TON of Doduo, even Dodrio will show up sometimes, and that doesn't seem normal.

It gets harder to catch all pokemon as you level up, regardless of their CP. I've had 10 CP pokemon break out of several balls in a row as a level 17 trainer. Pretty sure they just fucked up something, otherwise it makes no sense

Here's some tips. If you get a lucky egg, use it right before you hit a bunch of poke stops. They are fantastic when you catch new pokemon and go to stops since it doubles your XP for 30 minutes.

Don't bother with gyms, you are too low level to do anything about them and you will just waste your healing items.

It seems like you are shit now, but there is a huge level spike coming to you soon, especially once you get closer to level 10. You can then expect to start seeing level 700+ stuff.

DO NOT EVOLVE ANYTHING YOU HAVE. Only evolve stuff that is around 200 CP+ (If it has 2 evolutions, like Bulbasaur) or around 400CP+ (If it has 1 evolution, like Mankey)

These will get you some stronger pokes. While Ratata and Pidgey seem worthless, check them out anyway. If they are 200+, catch and evolve them and they can be strong members of your team while you hunt down more diverse pokemon. Catch a lot of them if you have the pokeballs to spare.

DO NOT POWER UP ANYTHING. Again, you will be catching strong pokemon and you will want the star-dust once the CP 1000+ stuff starts rolling in.

The BEST way to use lucky eggs, is to first get shitloads of rattata, weedle, and pidgey candy, then get enough of each mon to use all the candy to evolve them all

Then, Incubate all your 10km eggs, walk 5km, incubate all your 5km eggs, walk 3, incubate all your 2km, then right before they all hatch, turn on your lucky egg, hatch them, then evolve like crazy.


THEN with any spare time, hit up stops and catch mons

had this happen to me too, then the next throw it caught it without even shaking. It just jumped from the middle of the first shake animation to the caught animation.

stupid question: is it possible to go to a stop, turn GPS off, and still collect from the pokestop? There's a stop 50 fuckin feet from my house and I don't want to walk outside at 2 a.m. every 5 minutes. I wish there was some way to throw my GPS signal just a slight bit north.
