I've said before that I believe that what people see as characterization, I only see as random garbage that means nothing. Well, yes, technology is amazing, now you don't need to do all that with hand drawing and I don't see that as a downside . Compare some X/Y frame with another similar OS frame (like two gym battles) and you'll see what I mean, not only the quality is better but they would've probably lost their hands in the process.

The Shota and Ash match happens on the same field as the Ash and Alan one, except Shota commanding in the first scene looks to be on a different field.
Greninja is wearing the bracelet against both Greninja and Charizard, but I can't see it against Diantha and Greninja doesn't have the shuriken on his back when battling Gardevoir. Ash doesn't appear to have the bracelet in the gym match, but I could be wrong.
Unless someone can spot it, the Diantha battle looks to be after Alan and Shota but there's no bracelet.
