Are you guys using Memento competitively?
I haven't, but I want to use it somehow. Any suggestions other than "Arena Trap/Shadow Tag".
>>25793326
It seems like the kinda thing a belly drum set up sweeper would want, along with screens.
Maybe using linoone in a lower tier.
>>25793326
whats wrong with trapping? otherwise, the enemy will just switch out and you barely bought yourself a turn in the cost of a pokemon. why not trap and build up while the enemy in front of you can do almost nothing?
anyway, some moves trap the enemy. if you think the enemy will set up with SR you might want to use wrap and such, but why bother?
Baby Pokémon were probably the coolest batch of new additions.

Yes, we get it, it's April 1.

Let's have a talk about the speed of Gen 4. I've noticed recently it has become more common to say that Gen 4 is slow. By the numbers it's true that the Gen 4 engine is the slowest. But does slowest necessarily equal slow?
Personally, I'm playing Platinum right now and I feel it's the type of thing you'd have to go out of your way to be annoyed by. And it's a disservice to the great job they did with Platinum to outright dismiss it for something that's really pretty minor. But maybe I'm in the minority. I'd love to hear what people think.
Also Dawn.
>>25793017
Platinum fixes the slow problem for the most part.
Try playing Diamind or Pearl, the game most people got their hands on when 4th gen started.
>>25793017
Platinum is much faster, but I never really felt bothered by the slowness in Diamond.
Just hold the space bar, desu.
What constitutes a good Pokemon design? What qualifies as a bad Pokemon Design? And don't just say that it's a good design or bad design because it looks like x, tell me why x is a desirable or undesirable aesthetic trait.
>>25792613
Subjective taste.
>>25792613
>What constitutes a good Pokemon design?
A good design is one that takes an idea and puts a unique twist on it. The less expected the better.
>What qualifies as a bad Pokemon Design?
One that's all too predictable. Pokemon that are just oddly colored animals are the worst offenders of this right after the ones that just get bigger and meaner looking. It may as well not have an evolution at all.
A bad design is made worse with an obvious or unclever name like Talonflame or Hurricanine.
>>25792852
>One that's all too predictable. Pokemon that are just oddly colored animals are the worst offenders of this right after the ones that just get bigger and meaner looking. It may as well not have an evolution at all.
But none of that is really bad Pokemon design either.
Pokemon come in many different shapes, sizes, and concepts. Even the most simple of Pokemon can have appeal if they are cute or make it work.
>obvious or unclever names
Welcome to a majority of Pokemon then.
This is a Lottie pile of nonsense.
>Opponent switches
>Make a very good prediction
>Opponent dodges the attack
Why do i even bother

Elaine, calm down.

Shut up Dickerson.
ITT: Things you want changed that will never get changed.
>Pokemon can be nicknamed after being traded as long as the OT did not already give them a nickname.
>Pokemon get 6 move slots, but can only assign 4 for battle use at a time.
>You can easily change a pokemon's ball in a special shop.
>>25792190
I like them all except the last one. I feel a Pokemon staying in the ball it was first captured in is a statement of some sort, and it leads to much nicer variety. I know you're suggesting that it remain an optional choice to keep the ball or change it, but if we were given too much freedom, everyone would just put their Pokemon in Premier Balls or Luxury Balls or something. We wouldn't see any more normal Pokeballs anymore.
>>25792216
I catch all my pokemon in regular poke balls.
In fact I have a shiny Druddigon that really didn't want to get caught, and I ended up catching him in a Heal Ball because that was the last type of ball I had for some reason, and I really wish I could switch that ball to a regular poke ball.
>a handheld game that uses the traditional battle system but ISN'T about getting badges or something synonymous
>non-gimmick pokemon learn a new move every 5 levels; lower stage mons having completely different level up learnsets from their evolved forms; lower mons learn mostly buffs, debuffs, and support moves while higher forms learn mostly attacks
>if the above happens, attacks with debuffs never have more than a 20% chance of the debuff landing
>games focus on non-traditional battle styles
>TMs cannot be learned by level up; non-gimmick pokemon can learn ANYTHING on the TM list
This would absolutely DESTROY the metagame so I can't complain about it never happening.
What secondary type should a moon-themed Volcarona counterpart have? /Water, /Ice, /Fairy, /Psychic, /Dark, or something else?
>>25792144
Ice type with a bug-themed Thick Fat
>>25792379
>ice bug

A Bug/Fairy Lunar moth for MoonBlast STAB. Fairy is also a given with how Sylph-like it's wings are.

odds on anything relevant being shown? my bet is they'll just have the starters standing still in battle animation.

>>25791860
starters is good enough for me to be honest
Nothing is happening tomorrow
Are you worried about Nintendo of America censoring Sun and Moon?
>>25791776
No.
There is nothing to censor
>>25791776
I would be worried if skimpy outfits or weeb shit like fire emblum were a thing in pokemon, but there is really little to censor in pokemon to begin with.

Honest question, what would you use instead of greentext.
After all, "using talonfame" doesn't really carry the same clear meaning as
>using talonflame
for example.

Hi Nadine
Welcome to /pmg/, a place for discussing Pocket Master/FantasyMonster/Magic Elves.
This time without any complaining about the time bug
Pastebin for newbies: http://pastebin.com/JEFX0ta8 (embed)
>What is this?
It's a Chinese mobile game where several Pokemon are turned into surprisingly great waifus and husbandos. You build a team of five (and one backup) and go through various stages and also fight people in a PvP arena. It's like Plants vs. Zombies except better because it's a waifu sim.
>How do I play?
Android users: Go to the play store and search Magic Elves, or download the apk here:http://lopcdn.gamedreamer.co.th/apk/kden_efunfun.apk
iOS users: Go to the app store and look for Super Evolution.
If you can't play the game on mobile or want a faster playing quality, download BlueStacks, then download the above apk.
>What server should I use?
Most of us are on S04 Cerulean City although you can use any server, or several if you want to reset your team. S01-05 give the best rewards.
>Which starter should I choose?
Just choose your waifu.
>How do I get X pokemon?
Tap on the Wiki button in the game menu, tap the pokemon you're looking for, and scroll down until you can find how it's obtained. You're usually gonna need to be lucky, though.
>How much should I spend on this game?
You can go totally free and do just fine since the game gives you quite a lot for free, as long as your rolls aren't total garbage. Get a Miltank as she’s a good early healer, even if she only is a 4-star. If you want to spend money for Pokestones, go up to VIP3 ($10 total) so that you can participate in the Server Fund once you hit level 20, which gives you lots of free Pokestones. You get Zapdos at VIP6 ($60) and Lugia at VIP10 ($700) but they're not really worth it.
>How should I build my team?
You have two options: 3 melee, 1 healer, 1 ranged; or 2 melee, 1 healer, 2 ranged. More details in the pastebin, or ask for advice. Try to fill your team with 15 quality 5-stars (purple stars).
Do you guys think iOS version will eventually suffer the same fate? It got an update today but it was very minor.
>This time without any complaining about the time bug
>this is still in the OP
this was the theme last time, this theme should be complaining about the new designs
>>25791900
Honestly? Probably not. Apple is known for having a TERRIBLE record with this kind of stuff, which is good for us.
>Sun/Moon will need amiibos to unlock certain pokemon
>All DLC will now be amiibos
>Microtransactions
>The ability to change IV's/Nature at will without breeding by using your wallet
>Hard mode is only unlocked with the "Trainer Red special edition" amiibo
>You can only acess the post game after finishing up the national dex.
>You can skip HMs after obtaining certain badges by buying "Special poke-tools"
>>25791431
I wonder why DLC Mythical Legendaries aren't a thing yet
>>25791431
No. Fuck you. Just. Fuck you.
