Just what kind of a fucking novel is the guide book supposed to be? I have a poster for every region by buying these (really the only incentive) but for what purpose is it this expensive for? This is Aus price, but it'll be something close to this in other countries.

Looks good on shelves, and it's nice to red when you're done with the game, when the guide is well done (like BW B2W2, not XY that was utter shit, don't know about ORAS) you learn lots of things, and you can see what you missed. Of course you can go to the internet for this but it has that pre-internet era feel which is pretty nice.
But shit's expensive damn.

It's not as clear of an upgrade as, say, Crystal was to Gold and Silver, or any other third version, but it improves a couple things. It does change a few things that weren't broken to match better with the anime, but most of those things don't matter at all, so it's just personal preference.
If by "original charm" you mean nostalgia, that obviously depends on which you played first, or if you played all of Gen 1 in close enough succession for it all to be about the same for you.

I got this info from a Hawaiin site.
Kane - provider of nature, the sun and water.
Ku - the God of war.
Kanaloa - the God of the ocean
Lono - the God of agriculture, fertility, peace and natural phenomena.
These are the four major gods of Hawaii. I think they will be the inspirations for the 4 guardian pokemon of Alola. I believe one of them is Marshadow, Kane, keeping Solgaleo and Lunala in check. Mar=Ocean so that works too I guess. What are your thoughts? How can we improve or disprove the theory?

I think the guardians are more like the lake trio.
Marshadow might be one of the guardians, but for some reason I feel it won't be.

I'm sill waiting for the part when someone explains to me what the fuck is ACTUALLY wrong with having a trashbag pokemon, a ice cream cone pokemon, a keychain pokemon, a sword pokemon, and the entirety of rotom.
I know I know. I'm gonna get scoffs and looks of disgust and confusion, and no actual answers, but that's just a fucking cop out and you all know it. Now one has ever bothered to explain what the fuck is wrong with having those pokemon to begin with. When in pokemon has it ever been explicitly states or made clear that pokemon would be anything other then MONSTERS?
Don't get me wrong. I don't like the designs, but to point fingers and claim that these designs are an indication of laziness/lack of ideas from the devs, or that later generations are awful is absurd. These designs could have just as easily not been implemented, and that literally invalidates both arguments.
I don't understand /vp/, and I need someone to explain it to me.

Psychic / Ghost
I can't see the practical use of this thing in a competitive sense at this current time. Unless it has 140+ speed and 110+ HP to work with. This thing is a glass cannon that will die so fast. It also essentially has Multiscale ability that is worthless due to its 4x weaknesses. I don't know. Too early to commit to this but it's not looking good. Anything with Shadow Ball will wreck it. I'll still choose it for fun but not sure if I would ever use it online. Solgaleo is at least Psychic / Steel

Dragonite is only weak to Stealth Rock, Ice Beam, and Sandstorm. It also has many ways to check these. We also don't know this things stats. Dragonite has been around since the beginning with an established meta to have it in OU. It most likely will have legendary base speed so it will be fast.

I'll start with this monkey. The capuchin are known to use stones to crush nuts to get inside. So I was thinking a rock-type capuchin.
