Why are stealth only mains so fucking horrible. Worst players, Worst attitudes, Worst gamesense. Tell them their stealth waifu isn't all that great and they'll scream and shit their pants the whole match over it.

Are stealth players in hots the 'leet sniparz' of other genres? people who are absolutely god-awful bad but get 1 kill a match (that they lose) so think they're great because positive KDA.

I recently level Valeera from 1 to 5 in QM and she's just so binary. Either the enemies are retarded and I can just kill them because they never reveal me or they know how to detect stealth and group which makes Valeera pretty usless. Only games that were kind of back and forth were those where the enemy had only 2-3 players that were able to detect stealth and I had to hunt down the retards. Stealth is just bad and lazy game design.

Alarak is pretty good, just exceptionally high skill floor. Gaz/Sam/Valeera/Nova are all bad.

Gaz has *one* exception, and that's on braxis. using https://www.heroesfire.com/hots/talent-calculator/gazlowe#gsHC as his build and being in the 4man lane, he can basically insta-clear minion waves and his turrets make it harder to get on the point. His ult can win fights and xplodium is also pretty good versus zerg wave. He's still dead if caught alone though.

That said there's a lot of shit that's wildly better than him so he becomes an ultra-niche character there.

If tychus gets banned, raynor is basically a safer, longer ranged tychus that does more base aa damage and can crit the shit out of things. He's not high tier currently, but he's gone through periods of being very oppressively good. Raynor's strengths are largely in being safe to play and exceptionally consistent. He does decent damage, has crits, has giant killer, has two great ults and has a bunch of utility talents (like a stun or self-armor)

Kerri and alarak both pull things towards them then follow up with a giant burst of damage. Alarak is better at it and has more utility. the silence isn't as strong as the stun but meh.

Malthael and Kerri are very different beasts. Malthael is kind of better compared to a sticky-melee lunara with sort of minor influences from illidan/zera/greymane. He thrives on being in the fight and keeping his dot up.

IIRC Kerrigan was super comp viable in the era of Tyrande/ETC/Muradin stunlock comps where you just kept shit stunned until they died always.

Of those only Artanis, Dehaka, and Zera are "good", and artanis certainly isn't very popular currently. Tychus is only really a niche anti-tank since the range hits and the change to thats the stuff. Morales had a brief showing in competitive but is gone once again because dive is super popular and genji is FAIR and BALANCED (I don't actually think he's OP, but he does make morales' life difficult). Tassadar basically only exists in pro games and if you pick him outside of that you've made everyones life more difficult because they now have to build around a hypercarry comp. Zagara got hit hard with the AA damage nerfs.

Y'know the one thing that has always really bothered me about kerri's model in HotS is that I have no fucking clue what her "wings" are anchored to. They kind of just "exist" floating there, they don't appear to be attached to her hips and attaching them to her spine would be ubelievably stupid.

I've since gone back and looked at cinematics in other games and stuff and it more clearly appears that her wings are attached to her hips.

This logical fallacy (non sequitur) has been addressed before as well. It's practically possible to tweak any hero enough to give them a ~50% win rate, regardless of how imbalanced any one of their mechanics are. If a hero had a an ability on a 5 second cooldown which simply said "Kill target hero." it is STILL POSSIBLE to tweak that hero in such a way to give it a 50% win rate (through giving him drastically small hitpoints, low vision radius, etc.). This does not in any way detract from the fact that a literal death-touch on a 5 second cooldown is an insanely broken game mechanic. Same with Stealth. Stealth, as well as the hypthetical Death-touch ability, produce what is called 'binary' gameplay, which is bad game design.

These are mechanics which produce situations whereby they are either 'on' and grossly OP, giving an immense unfair advantage, or 'off' and completely worthless. Enveloping is bad at 4 (yes I know 2 levels off of talents), because chromies largest issue is inconsistency in damage. Bronze talons gives chromie consistency (and what amounts to basically a third nuke, even at level 2 when you get it it's doing ~275 damage just for doing something you would anyways as long as you follow up with an 7.4 range AA). You really want either byebye or stasis at 13 tier, because chromie is exceptionally weak versus dive or flanking, you need an option to either not take damage or to be *gone* before the noose closes. A two second damage-uninterupptable recall is *very* good.

At the 16 tier, shifting sands is probably the best - no cooldown for potential +40% damage you've just got to hit your shit. If you don't hit it's fine, if you do hit you plain and simple get better.

Not sure off hand. Simple to test, but if fast forward didn't exist, that would probably the worst talent out of that tier. Technically the 20% AP on demand is okay if you're going dragons eye + temporal loop, but that is genuinely a much worse build than slowing sands. Slowing sands is *nasty*.

Usually characters that outline the burst do well against them. Johanna has a low CD long range AOE/Blind. Tassadar has a huge vision build and some AOE and slows to fuck them over as well as an invulnerability to escape. Other heroes can but these are probably the cheapest and easiest to play at a low level and be successful.

Valeera isn't as bad as people make her out to be though she's nowhere near as good as zera. Occupies a completely different niche from Nova/Zera despite being a stealth hero imo

Best Valeera's I've seen are the ones that mount up in plain view, Q to gapclose and then stealth only for half a second to get abilities off, usually to set up for their team. This avoids the whole issue of her being useless if she gets knocked out if stealth while trying to sneak up on someone. She's a v poor solo ganker against anyone competent enough to spit the shimmer.

Alternative are the ones that lurk and only engage/follow up when the enemy thinks they're dueling for a 2v1 ambush, but that doesn't work against anyone smart enough to realize that she's missing on the minimap and 1v1ing is a bad idea

She's a terrible 1v1 ganker and is best used as a playmaker desu. Much rather have a Val that initiates/follows up with a disable/silence and then gets out, rather than one that tries to get a kill and dies while caught out on the enemy backline

Depends on your team comp. If you had an Azmo, Vikings, Aba, or anyone with a global, it might not have been necessary. The xp is the best part about it. It's good for team fights when defending/pushing with boss, so it's doubly good on Warhead.

Hammer will generally always be better for team fights, but if you use your judgement and play smart, there should be no reason for them to bitch at you. People do like to bitch about anything that goes against the grain though.

It's just everyone's at the same MMR because they never play it.

If you play a few hundred games of Brawl, you will probably drift to one end or the other on the scale depending on winrate.
