Any mods that make my custom armors cosmetics not switch to default when changing to the new armor tier? Shit gets really annoying when you have to manually change back 30+ custom mod armor soldiers.

Honestly find them more dangerous than Sectopods. An A-squad can take down two Sectopods per turn.

I don't think it's possible to do that with two Gatekeepers. Their defense is too high to make shots certain.

I haven't actually seen that Sectoid yet for some reason since Tygen hasn't told me about their even greater psionic potential yet. And one of my soldiers said what animal is that even from in reference to the image.

I would imagine it's 2K jewery. Supposedly Firaxis had to fight quite hard to keep microtransactions out of vanilla and that as a tradeoff 2k insisted the expansion should be a premium price

It would have also resulted in them removing the "easy" difficulty player help and made the game more punishing and bullshit overall. The base game would be closer to LW2 without any of the content additions. Gotta make sure players lose their soldiers so they are tempted.

It's why Let It Die was such garbage after Floor 31+. They were trying to jew you out of your money through microtransactions and bullshit game design.

Anarchys children despite being not much is DLC and not a micro transaction.

A microtransaction is for a temporary consumable benefit. So you would be able to buy 1000 Elerium for one playthrough for 99 cents or supplies or whatever. Those are micro transactions and they are cancer.

If they add content to the game it's DLC. If they only give you more of something that already exists within the game it's a micro transaction.

Slingshot is probably my favourite because I love the scenarios (first mission where you get Zhang is a bit eh, but the train and the battleship are both top tier tactical scenarios).

1. You can't see anything in smoke grenades visually, so if you want to reposition your soldiers a bit it'll take you like 30 seconds to go over all the tiles.

Hah, I do that sometimes, like, I take the 22% pistol shot on a yellow move with my sharpshooter and crit and kill the target and I think to myself "should I just be shooting all the time?" Ok memeing aside, a global advent rule would be objectively better for humanity than wallowing in shit and terraforming earth into venus 2.0

pros:
-cure for all diseases
-quality of life improved for elders/disabled so effective human life ins no longer only between age 20-40, but during the entire lifespam
-stripping power from corrupt fucks which ANY AND ALL human becomes when given power
-as the keystone species in the ayy empire, (hence the 2nd most important one other than elders) we are practically guaranteed the utopian living conditions we had before XCOM started stirring shit up. The elders went to great lengths to make humans as comfortable as possible

Actually most people are living pretty miserable, and Advent is becoming increasingly hostile and violent. We see this via all the street graffiti and Bradford mentions advent stunlancers no longer use the stun feature on people anymore.

LW2 is foolish. It balances chrysallid spawn rates around their vest value, bases that off the fact that you get corpses from spawning chrysallids, then FORGETS THAT YOU RARELY GET SPAWNING CHRYSALLIDS OUTSIDE OF RETALIATIONS.

The best way to farm chrysallids is from invasion missions. Get one resistance soldier out, then let the chrysallids chomp down on the rest. Take the relay out, overwatch, and wait.

Yeah. If you rewatch the movie, the Elders are pretty fucking angry with the Chosen, who were apparently were with stamping down on human resistance groups. Only they spent too much time screwing around tormenting the Reapers, Skirmishers etc and allowed XCOM to rescue the Commander. Being given control of earth once the Elders leave is just the carrot to their "you screwed up and we're going to kill the other two" stick.

Holy shit just did Liberation 2 and what a clusterfuck. Went in with 8 because force lvl 3 and I only have ballistics. Still 164 infiltration so good right?

Wrong. First off I dunno if that shit was a trap or not but shit said extremely light. Bullshit right there.

Meanwhile mission team was compromised from turn 1 I landed in a corner of the map (literally) and thoght to myself - oh good I can sneak in close. NOPE. Shinobi spotted by drone on first move.

Rest of the mission was one long running battle. Managed to capture VIP instead of just assassinate but holy shit - vipers, turrets, 2 faceless, reinforcements and stunlancers ... wtf.

Was not expecting a stiff resistance like that. I somehow still managed to get out with a Flawless. So unexpected because last few missions I have been having guys get wounded from utter bullshit.

Going from a tiny crew of crazy bitches with muskets in a 6 seater airbus with no craft weapons and working up from there is always engaging and no two playthroughs are ever the same. I'm about at the point where I'm developing the Shining Hull into a Fortuna and all my bitches are armed up with AKs and RPGs, with the exception of a couple guys who have CAWS for armor piercing and one bitch I've got running around with a katana because it's a monster close combat weapon.

I just get frustrated when I run into missions I'm not equipped for and have to leave. Like a Mutant Pogrom I just tried to prevent but couldn't because there was a tank (like the ones from original XCOM) that I just couldn't kill with rockets and grenades, so I had to pull out.

I've grown a bit disillusioned with it overtime. The amount of technical stuff they are doing is amazing and the amount of content is astounding, but it's just too draining. The armor juggling, the equipment juggling, no way to tell what you need to have to be prepared for certain missions, it all just weighs me down.
I actually beat an old version of PirateZ on ironman, but I couldn't imagine trying to ironman pirateZ now. There are just too many things that I have now idea how they work till I get there, and this often makes the mission un-winnable, or extremely unfun.

Honestly I don't recall the slug thrower ever losing steam. There's a heavy laser canon (Portable laser canon or something?) you can get towards the end to vaporize sectopods and mercenaires. Gauss Weapons are always very good. Tbh, I haven't gotten to far in the new version. Eurosyndicate laser rifle is very expensive, but when you have unlimited money is well worth it.

Which ability is less shit? Suppression seems okay. You basically blow two ammo on a forced overwatch. Which will miss.

I've noticed certain ai triggers. Ai never uses grenades to remove cover or secure kills but will always use aoes on grouped people.

It's actaully handy for stalling the codex.

Sectoids do you a favor by making zombies, not sure if they always priotize zombies, but I like to always give them the option since fuck mind control.

Also as I get further into the game I don't know if I even like timers and concealment. I don't see anyway to possibly do certain missions without abusing the absolute fuck out of deadzone, phantom rangers and mimic beacons. You get punished for pressing forward and there are so many enemies that have ankle biter abilites. Some maps are 8 turns which is fucking nothing under certain circumstances.

Honestly, the AI changes are the main reason why I don't really like the timers. I use True Concealment and mod the numbers up a bit, combined with some improved AI mods to change how the Ai behaves, and the game suddenly becomes much much better. Having increased time and smarter enemies lets me get into extended firefights and helps reproduce the tense feel of EW's firefights, where every move mattered and every ability was critical. Much more to my liking, I recommend it for you as well, anon.

It's been a bit, but the actual pvp fighting was 100% more fun in my opinion. Too bad they removed invasions, would have been the perfect pvp souls game, but it's still the best one.
Instant backstabs is a biggy since it completely changes how everyone single encounter is played out, parrying getting nerfed is another. Poise was pretty stupid in DS1 when it came to pvp (still wish that poise just functioned differently in player vs. player because poise in DS1 is a better single-player mechanic).
Just lot's of small things really. No more shield turtling either., with the added bash, more pros and cons for each shield, etc. etc. Functional bows, nerfed stupid magic yadda yadda.
Just saying that DS2 was pretty fantastic (same or more hours in that game than in DS1), so I wouldn't think it would be a good comparison since LW2 has much more to be desired in comparison to LW1.
DS2 is just another case of 2 steps forward, 2 steps back, while I feel LW2 is definitely a step back (as it currently stands).

I generally take a pistol Sharpshooter too, since Fan Fire and Faceoff are so fucking powerful with specialty rounds like Bluescreen or Dragon. Bluescreen is especially amazing with Fan Fire and upgraded pistols, letting a Sharpshooter insta-kill late-game robotic enemies.

I generally use the LW Perk Pack classes, since I like the classes well enough. With said mod, actual sniper Sharpshooters are usable, though you have to handhold them a bit. Basically, you can build them with DFA and other abilities such that they become machine guns at squadsight range. Combo with auto-loaders and a supporting squad shredding armor and softening targets, and a Sharpshooter can delete entire pods in a turn. You have to build around them though.

Then you are on the right track. Early game, handholding a sniper Sharpshooter through missions until you get them a Spider Suit is just a fucking nightmare. The weather was pretty shitty when it was new but now you get a weather forecast before missions and you can equip a scarf for the cold or a radiator weave in the heat to minimize the effects. Early on you can buy stimpacks as well which are an easy way to restore energy and heal stun damage.

I've played through the game a few times now at different points, and I think the new features are often not fully fleshed out when introduced but become interesting and add depth as they are developed over time and get some feedback.

Also the slugthrower is best gun, although the weight prohibits using it with a lot of the tougher midgame armors like plate and defender. Those nearly-guaranteed-kill reaction shots are a godsend for boarding ships and urban combat.

I wish there was a steep between Vanilla's "grenades and guaranteed damage solves all encounters" and LW2's "Can't hit shit, explosives are worthless, all guaranteed damage abilities are walled off until later in the game, all enemies go into high cover to fuck you over"

I hate these "defend the evac spot and run around the map grabbing civvies while reinforcements beam in constantly every round" missions so much, but I finally did one pretty well

LW2 early-mid game isn't so bad, its when you start fighting 30+ hp enemies that grenades go from useful to "just pull the pin and save yourself the trouble"

Longer games and a wider soldier I am ok with, but there are ways to do without doing it with infiltration. LW1 did it with fatigue, and WotC is doing their own spin on it.

Infiltration is not the issue you're thinking it is.

If the missions take x amount of time that's what is really preventing you from seeinng your favorite troopers.

The piddly amount of time that they are infiltrating is not much compared to how long spent on the tactical layer.

No, I want to go into battle with the squad I just loaded out, not one I prepped an hour ago. I did fine with LW1's fatigue system. I don't have an favortie soldiers, I don't even customize them or even download cosmetic mods. Look at my post where I say that it is such a huge disconnect for me and that is why I dislike the infiltration mechanic as it stands.
