I just did a couple extreme LTC runs so I don't really have a good idea about actual effectiveness (I want to do a 0% growths ironman run in the future). Zeek, Narron (yeah even with 0% growths his promotion bonuses are ridiculous), and Raffin are very useful early on and Sierra is absurdly overpowered later on. But a good portion of the cast is pretty useful, e.g. vega, shigen, lionel, barst, raquel, the pegasus knights, all join early and hold up quite well through the game.
If you don't go for extreme LTC I think it would offer a much better difficulty balance than the base game. Especially because there's stuff like Plum's defense staff and buyable charms to prevent death.

I guess I should have recorded my 0% growths LTC. But I didn't and I'll never do another extreme LTC playthrough again; it was fun to plan out but actually executing LTC tactics was mind-numbingly tedious. The most important resource in my run was the save staff for savescumming.

Also I'm not so sure about how to best record PS1 gameplay; I relied on snes9x's built in recorder for FE5 stuff.

I just don't see the appeal of FE speed runs, I think LTC runs make a lot more sense because you're aiming for the best tactics whereas a speed run aims for lower time at the cost of turncount. Also I dislike how they're usually just following a pre-planned RNG sequence and don't actually come up with tactics that make sense, they just hit and dodge whenever they need to because of RNG manipulation.

I was think about game all through work today and these are the things I could think of about it.

The story either needs to move faster, or go full pander mode. By pander mode I mean you actually interact with characters in their "world" like in FGO. Useless options, lords/characters of that world become main focus interacting with the player.

5* units unlock special paralogue for the player, and for full pandering mode and trying to get people to drop money or waste feathers, 5* characters have unlockable supports using the same system has HM, forcing more grinding. I wouldn't like that, but it would drive sales.

3* pool changes with the banner or at least increases. Free character daily pulls 2* and 1* that have unique characters to make the FTP players feel special.

Items to "reroll" ivs for characters. Character must be level 40, resets them to level 1 with new random ivs. I don't know how it would be given away. Arena awards? GHB?

TT is only like once every other month, and the grind is either reduced or the maps are less fucking boring.

Main thing. Either progress the story or go to my first point about pandering. Sharena, Alf, and Anna are pretty fucking boring since we don't get any real story or character from them. That either needs to be ramped up or pandering from past FE characters needs to be increased.

I know most of these ideas are cancer, but it would be stuff to keep people interested.

Any good builds for Clarisse? Preferably with her own bow, don't have 20k feathers for the weapon.
