I didn't realize until after the KC2 draw that I had so many fucking 5* dark matters. What is even the point of that reward when they are so cheap in the gysahl shop? At least with the adamantite/scarletite stuff it's obvious they are giving you garbage.

Also, the prize for me might be stuff for Terra, which is weird. Another +10 mag and fire boost armor is pretty nice. Too bad fire hasn't been that useful in raids lately.

The difference is that the breakdowns do damage, and the dances are not only AoE but don't count as a physical attack so they don't trigger counters. Usually you'd want the breakdowns, but the dances can be very useful.

Mythril refreshing? The characters I have are already triple-broken, so I ran them through the dailies to get that shit over with. I'm sure the 1 stamina dungeons might be better, but the cons outweigh the pros for me personally RE:mastering soul breaks. Helps out my depleted orb stock too.

Evoke espers one at a time while tanking Siren, after Ifrit dies. If using 2 Orlandeau for damage you can hit her with Lightning Stab to generate enough orbs without killing her.

Is it really worth starting RK now? Seems like the bug is for dated equipment. I was waiting for the free 11 pull to start playing RK.

While there are abilities like Wrath and Lifesiphon that help, there are also record materia that help build up the soul break meter fast (or give a bar outright at the start of a dungeon). Some characters, like Rikku unfortunately do not have access to Wrath & Lifesiphon. Building shit will take longer in those cases without the aid of the specific RMs mentioned or hitting weakness. ...Or wait until six months at the most until the major ability buff update, and see how it goes from there.
This is the case for most normal content currently though, but there are modes that will affect the SB meter. Well, first of all, you have Multi Break AND Full Break on Tyro. They offer the same debuff effect, but one is non-contact AoE (MB) versus single target with some physical damage (FB).
Take that RM off of Cloud, and give him a damage-boosting one. He'll actually get the best sword RM once he reaches lv. 99, lucky enough for you. Depending on the battle, you'll have to try to slot Shellga in there too.
There's a lot more that could be picked apart, but there are a lot of specifics to go into depending on each individual battle.

To be frank, not quite. For non-D300 torments, you will have to deal with trash mobs before the boss, so you'll have to make sure you're good on hones on top of the usual healing and mitigation. Building your team further beyond the five you've shown will also be important when there's vulnerabilities/resistances or magic/physical to keep in mind. Cloud ultra is not the automatic win button it might seem to be currently. You can't go into endgame content expecting to clear everything with it 100% of the time. Don't feel frustrated because of this - some shit just has to be handled differently sometimes.
As said earlier, anything else said will depend on the specifics of each battle. Team composition is going to vary by needs - whether it is slight or drastic is up to the obstacle in front of you.

Was there anything else on future banners you are looking into for favourites you have in mind? How are you doing with other characters & relics, or progress with a magic-focused team?

Early bursts still have their uses; it's all about working with what you've got. Don't discount them entirely because of their age or if there's "something better", as there's always going to be something better on the horizon. Terra was instrumental for my D300 3-man Cid Mission clear/mastery for example, because of her water command on her burst. It's the only relic I have for her too, but she can pull her weight when she needs to.

I literally used an Attack -> heal RM on my healer and just auto'd through all the mobs. Started the boss battle with full ability uses and 3 sb bars. The other 4 characters had damage RMs. It takes some babysitting in the first wave after proshellga goes out and before wall goes out too but after those are both out the 1200 heal from the healer easily healed the 300 damage the mobs were doing. Just refreshed wall every battle and proshellga every other battle.

I've got WoL, Tilith, Rikku and Zargabaath. I got everyone's defense stat over 200, but I was looking to add a little extra kick by going through Explorations and such to get gear I missed so that I would be able to have everyone at least having gear with relevant stats in every single slot for the fight.

Acid Rain fucks you, it's an AoE dispel and damage + debuff. It clears everything off. Defensive buffs? Gone. Reraise? Gone. Elemental protection? Gone. Typhon does one very strong hit per turn, it'll reduce even your tank to like 20% health. It's possible to be sitting pretty, then be hit by Acid Rain and a string of physical and suddenly half your team is dead.
