I've been exclusively playing gekokujonew since I got this game a couple years ago. I try to play other mods but I can't get into them.

yes, it is. Perisno have a really big variety of factions, items, unique spawns/events,etc. overall, is a great low fantasy mod. you can check my run posted in the last /mbg/ threads.

there is only 3 bad things about it:

some armies, garrison and events are just too big. the funny thing is at late game, they are ok even being this big. but they are still a pain in the ass + performance issues if you dont setup properly

its not good, pretty low quality compared to the rest. dorfs are the next update focus.

The only mod I've seen them be a problem in is PoP I had a Snake Cult shrine that took me like 5 tries to beat because so many of them would spawn with powerful crossbows that 2 shot me.

I wish PoP had some kind of setting that would let you play as some of the minor factions. I'm fighting a Heretic unique spawn at the moment and making a heretic army would be fun, going around and hiring the little weird naked zombies and upgrading them to the super overpowered Revenants.

Most fantasy mods that let you play as shit like that, are usually pretty janky.

the run is over! after taking all the north (valahir, reich, maccavia) territories, the mid map tolranian lands, and reconquering all the Zann invaded territories, I just finished the job of conquering all the south: ellintorians land, Qaletaqa and Azure keep plus Aolas Castle and Galwe. the objective was just to have fun, fight against more diverse factions (I never fought that much against them) and assaulting different siege scenariones (Qaletaqa and Aolas Castle are pretty unique)

the entire run have been really fun, but the late game not that much. but thats pretty normal in Mount and Blade in general, at least for me, where the early and mid game is always a blast and after that the fun just slow down a lot.

Its time for a new mod, what should I play /mbg/?

I get what you're saying here, but this doesn't really make your two handed weapon choice any better if you can't get in range. Obviously you can just grab the archers attention, then send your troops (who could be using terrain to get close and stay covered) in to charge. It's a solid game strategy, but one that only works because the AI is shit at leading arrows and can't get into terrain advantages (being next to a hill and not on it). My typical strategy for dealing with large archer groups is to ride in and take grab their attention while I send my cavalry in to charge while their backs are turned. It would be a shit plan though if the AI was on an elevated position with steep approaches, but that's why I stay away from Rhodicks territory.

but yes, Maccan is the hardest siege in the game by far cause they have the best crossbows and overall his infantry is heavy armored and heavy hitter.

my advice, bring elite infantry (household guards are always GOAT) and elite archers, and use the classic m&b tricks: elite archers shooting from the outside, retreat, repeat. involve other lords to the assault and use them as meat shield. starvation siege. use choke points and retarded AI. but overall, it will be hard as fuck no matter what

PoP anon run, 1st update:
I was looking the wiki and a bit of the lore for Prophecy of Pendor, to choose my playstyle and all that and its look pretty simple and not very appealing. specially the major factions: only 5 and not a single one interesting enough for me. D'shar classic horsefuckers, Fierdsjews boring infantry focus, Sarleon looks ok-classic european, the Empire is attractive but the leader/lore is meh, so I choose Ravenstern.

I will play a more bow oriented character, with shield and lance too I guess. I usually play the top tier combination of bastard sword/shield/crossbow because its the most powerful/versatil layout. I think Ravenstern troops will fit good in my style, with large amounts of archers, maybe some noble cavalry and just random scum/mercs for my infantry/meat shield.

I got Ansen in my initial big town, its free and it will be my medic I guess. I recruit some plebs and start engaging little mystmountain bandits armies. Im doing ok, but money in this mod looks like a big problem. any inital tips?

pic related so far. the 8k denars is because I just recollected taxes, and Im thinking at keeping the money for myself (it was a quest from the king but...)

the mod is extremely smooth and comfy I should say, maybe a bit simple, but lets see how it goes!

Recruit adventurers or young nobles early on, and merc for whoever you feel like. You can buy dates for cheap as fuck in dshar lands and sell them most anywhere for decent profit. Early game faction troops arent that great because its hard to get decent cav. Watch out for heretics and snake fucks if you dont have a solid crew. Ask everyone for rumors, and use the first few qualis gems you find on the potion that boosts str agi and cha.
