I feel like I'm losing focus in Heroes. None of the starter trio are at least 4* Lv40, and my abysmal luck in rolls are hurting me more than I can accept unless I sacrifice a ton of feathers. It's why I stopped playing Arena and losing out on orbs. Where should I begin to get back to pace? Currently sitting at 190 orbs.

Meet Intelligent Systems staffer Nami Komoru, who is allegedly one of the main reasons why Fire Emblem isn’t what it used to be. Nami Komuro (小室菜美) joined Intelligent Systems as a planner after graduating from university. According to an interview, she did not have any prior experiences with the Fire Emblem series. For research purposes, she was was handed some of the older games by staff members so that she could get familiar with the series. However, the games were too hard for her and she complained that she was not able to clear them. She chose Intelligent Systems because the company was located close to her home in Kyoto. Nami did not have any interest in any games from the company.

She is said to have been perplexed and amused by some of the emotions that longtime fans expressed during the 25th anniversary FE concert. She also openly complained about a Fire Emblem Cipher live broadcast on Twitter despite having illustrators who work on that card game among her followers.

In an interview with the now defunct Official Nintendo Magazine UK, she admitted that she complained to the director about the difficulty of older Awakening builds and wanted the maps to be easier because she could not beat them. For Awakening, she acted as the character planner but was also involved with the story and event scripts. She created most of the characters, was involved in the main scenario and did some of the story and DLC events. The way she wrote the dialogue for some of the old heroes that appeared in the DLC missions was criticised by Japanese fans. They accused her of not doing justice to the characters and - in some cases - even severely mistreating them.

So I have a dilemma.
I like my Azura but don't like her default spear.

I'm thinking either Silver Lance+ for more raw power, or Killer Lance+ to ensure that pretty much every combat gets a special trigger.

Problem is my Lukas is +Atk-Spd which I think is pretty awesome, and I only have 34k feathers (and was hoping to sometime soon 5* the Askr trio).

So I could waste a decent unit with rare decent IV roll. I could spend the feathers (which now that I can do very well in arena accumulate faster) on some other disposable unit. Or I could spend the feathers to improve a different unit that is more pivotal or more of an attacker (like my Bridelia +Def-HP to get Brave Bow+).

While I get that gameplay in fe might have been dumbed down, blaming a singular person for the design decisions of a development team seems counter productive to me. Ideally what IS should do with fe is actually improve the difficulty modes so that there is a challenging experience and an easy one for the casual players. Furthermore they should focus on good gameplay design for the difficult version specifically because that's what the people playing it would want. That's what I hear. That's what they all say. I can't help but feel she's not up to competing against other blues when needed (except when her special is charged). Also, she's already a red deleter. How much worse off would she bee with a Killer Lance+?

The +20% bonus is nice, but that is 8 Atk.
Reliably having 30% reduced defenses would be a difference of 6 on a unit with 20 defense.

While her maximum threat removal power would decrease a bit, her overall performance would be similar, but improved against greens and other blues, granting extra versatility.

Am I wrong?

Killer Lance+ is 11 Mt dude, her ability to kill things drops when she's using that over Sapphire+. For that matter, Sapphire Lance+ is 12 Mt which makes it better at base than Killer. No weapon change is going to make her better at killing Greens (she sucks at it regardless) and her middling Atk means she's going to have trouble against the tanky Blues even with things like Lancebreaker. If there's a case for an alternate weapon you could consider a Firesweep+ but that's not really an upgrade for her as it is a sidegrade (and even that's arguable).

I think you just want your Azura to do things she just wasn't meant to do.
