When you nerf certain characters other characters get indirect buffs. Rein was nerfed, which was an inderect and quite significant buff to genji. The shield buff, while it seems minor is actually a significant change that made Winston extremely powerful.
Pharah was buffed and while she isn't picked too often in pro play. She shows up enough to essentially delete junkrat from any tier above platinum. So genji and tracer have free reign to move as they please. All these tiny changes have huge impacts. People just don't see it at first.
But it's like when you throw a pebble in a lake. The pebble may be small but it makes huge reverberations

That's the thing, when I was still playing I played a lot of support and when ever I had a pretty good McCree in my team always had to keep an eye on him. He lack the mobility that Genji or Tracer have as well as the self-sustain that Soldier has. If you have a friend that plays healer queue up with them but if you are the only DPS or can't rely on your team mates you are usually better of picking a different DPS.

Help me out guys. I just finished a game where we got steamrolled the last two rounds of Nepal. The enemy team had Ana, Lucio, D.Va, Winston, Pharah and Soldier. Our comp was a standard 2-2-2, nothing noteworthy. But it felt like there was not much we could do to counter such a comp.

We had a Soldier and McCree for Pharah, but they couldn't deal with their Winston diving our supports and using his shields and Ana healing them, not to mention D.Va was eating all the damage.

What should've been our answer? I was thinking of Reaper, but then there would've been no one to contest their Pharah. Granted, our team wasn't playing all that well, but I couldn't figure out what changes to make to our comp.

I've actually taken to using the hook's fucked up mechanics around ledges to bring targets closer.
If you hook someone and turn to about 45° vs a ledge, it'll drop them closer to you if the alternative is dropping them off the ledge by extending the hook finishing point.
It also works if you hook and slide them along a wall, the game prioritises dropping a target directly in front of you rather than leave the correct distance.

Literally how do I git gud at this game? I keep floating around 1800 and tend to be the best on my team but sometimes it feels like I'm doing everything and we're still getting steamrolled.
Winston is my go-to tryhard hero because I can just fuck anything squishy, but it's pretty frustrating to have gold damage more than often with him if we have two or three DPS players.
