Monsters is probably the easiest to build something somewhat viable from the starter decks. Skellige's flavour of the month for being incredibly powerful. This doesn't make any sense, if SK hard counters MN and is 50% of the meta you'd see a shitload of NG, ST and NR players, but no fucking monsters. Right now SK counters NG, ST, NR and MN unless those factions tech against them AND the SK players tech against other SK players. That's fairly accurate though it's a little fucky. You're better off with queensguard instead of shieldmaidens and you're better off with priestesses than warships. You don't ride the queensguard meme hard, but they still fit the discard archetype well because you don't care about discarding them and they can be a 12 point burst. I would also knock ADC on the head even though it works for deck thinning you don't desperately need it for Udalryk. You could run Johnny memes (Ideally you discard Ciri so she gets another buff and you hopefully jack a gold) or silver Baby Ermion. I'd probably swap out decoy for something else too. Marching orders to pull a priestess to rez queensguard may be agreeable.

Someone talk me out of spending 1,800 scrap on Ithlinne, Zoltan, and Yarpen and making a dwarf deck and spitefully playing solitaire because every single one of my opponents drives me up the fucking wall with Skellige and weather monsters and once or twice in every 10 games some memey piece of Swimshit.

Pretty close to what I do. I like to save Francesca for the 3rd round though. With the thinning you do and with blacklisting, you can pretty much guarantee any draw you need in the 3rd round if you have Francesca.

My round 1 gameplan is basically

>play dorfs and move them around
>isengrim into toruviel on the ranged row
>pass

That's the perfect scenario. It's like 60 points and outtempos most decks. Shit goes wrong when the opponent has weather or some damage for the bmcs.
If I don't end up with isengrim then you have to play an extra elf to ensure aelirenn comes out. For real clever opponents I like to play the sapper first and then pass. They'll either go two cards to take the round or give up. Sometimes I also play morenn in the first round if I can deny a key card for my opponent.

Round 2 you bleed the opponent and win the third round by just having better cards and topdecks.

This is the current version of the deck. Yaevinn works really well here because he can guarantee renew if you have mardro in hand.

I just switched from playing the typical weather monster deck to this and you have so much more things to consider that keeps you engaged in the match.

Made it to 2.5k a couple days ago with it and I haven't played ranked since then. I've got about a 75% winrate with it. You probably just need to learn the deck a bit better. Either that or the bamboozle is over because LC and JJ made that ST deck.
