At the time, Ma Teng's and Liu Zhang had nominally submitted to Cao Cao so they were technically under his control. Later down the line he would have to march on them if they didn't actually submit, but at the time, there wasn't really a point to. Liu Cong had surrendered, leaving only Sun Quan in open conflict with Cao Cao.

Cao Cao was probably riding high on momentum at that point and thought he could gamble on Sun Quan being so frightened that he would submit, easy-peasy.

New movements, now every character have all supers avaiable at all times (I think in Utage you had to choose only 1 from the 3 options at time), the new characters are really cool and every character have a full moveset this time. The stages are ok I guess, I miss the maps from SB2 t b h, the new ones are too gimmicky for me but this isn't really a problem.

Also with the new patch you can disable the roulette system so you never have to rally bother with it, but I've only turned off after I've bought everything form the store.

For me this is, by far, the best musou game avaiable right now, each character is fun and different to use, the tag system is cool and the weapon crafting is good enough so you can make the weapon exactly the way you want. The only true cons are that the game is in japanese only so I miss everything from the story and no old man Hojo.

SB3+Utage is 4CDs and I'm not sure it has absolutely everything, it probably does, though

even if they don't have it all they still have a lot, all character themes, map themes and almost all stages are here

SB4 got 2 CDs but with its one disk, Sumeragi doesn't have some stages (I NEED 国家安康の戦い) and some in-battle (one of the rival themes, Sen's rival theme - not his main theme) and some in-between stage themes (Matsunaga's is the biggest hit for me)

Yukimura-hen got two disks though, but I can't say if something's missing as I haven't played it yet

ROTK needs to have deeper dialogue, I don't know how many people work on these games other than the artists but it feels like they should write a bunch of unique dialogue for interactions so they weren't always the same, especially for big name folks. I got after a game where Cao Cao won Red Cliff and just kind of steamrolled for the rest of the game.

go for regular SoI, Ascension AI is pretty bad to the point that the actual improvments might not be worth it.
Don't start near Hojo, they're an unstoppable rape train and is pretty much always your mid-late game rival.
Your most likely going to be expanding fast after you build up for the first few years so you should be accepting every officer you can, even ones that hate you, since you'll have to station all the castles with multiple officers.

I started as Tokugawa in my first scenario and I regret this for two reasons actually. Hojo are a huge bitch to deal with and you basically have nowhere else to go if Oda is covering your rear, but if you manage to beat them you basically just steamroll the rest of the game from having so many troops. I only managed it when they sent 60k troops against Sunpu Castle and I fended them off with 40k, then took to the offensive while Uesugi hit their rear. It was on Normal though and the AI is dumb enough it probably needs to be on Hard.

If you're looking to get your hands a little dirty, there's rules in One Roll Engine by Stolze for having organization stats that you could use to run clans/families in just about any system you choose. It's fairly light weight, but doing something like this is a little more involved than just running a ruleset straight.
