Read the General problems FAQ before asking questions. If you still need help, post your specs (Speccy screenshot), operating system, emulator version number and details of what's wrong.

Please contribute to the wiki if you discover any inaccuracies or have relevant information to append.

READ THE WIKI BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS LIKE:
>Where do I get games
OR
>What is the best emulator for...

Check out the wiki for the emulator you're using if you run into trouble, there may be a solution there too, often including recommendations for optimal game settings.

Remember to submit bug reports or shit won't get fixed.

Wow that is pretty bad.. They should use Vulkan! I guess there's no hope for Decaf unless some talented people start joining the team.
>>
>>180574716
I agree 100% with you about Vulkan, and it's listed as one of the future steps for Decaf, but OpenGL would open it for older hardware support too. If the want the project to be popular to bring more devs, at least drop fucking Windows 10 only and implement OpenGL
>>
>>180575221
Yea Vulkan is the future. OGL for older hardware but DX can burn in the trash bin.
At least Dolphin has dropped DX, it's a start.
>>
>>180575592
They didn't dropped for the reason you're hating on it though, they dropped it because the plugin wasn't being improved upon. I think someone mentioned somewhere that if someone started to work on it again, they would likely reimplement it into the main branch.

Kind of probably what will happen to Citra in the future, as Vulkan should be the next logical step and I don't know if someone will care enough to keep the OpenGL backend up to date

Which is why it should be put on the trash heap. You think MS have any interest in developing DX anymore? It was a selling point for windows 10. Nothing of real worth has taken advatage of DX since 10s release. Even doom, went OGL and Vulkan.

Iunno. I'm currently unable to run a game because I have none.
I cannot use WiiU USB Helper, due to it not having a GNU/Linux version available and I'm definitely not going to install WINE for one piece of software that I'm not going to use on a regular basis. That being said, I don't think that it would help much since it seems like I can't download right now any way (FunKiiU fails to download the TMD, sometimes the first *.app, even with -retry 9).
I guess, I can try to setup mingw and compile it for you guys. Though, I cannot test it since I don't have access to a Windows machine.

Yup. Boggles my mind how so many people shill OGL so much in the emulation scene..

I think if Decaf implemented Vulkan, it would have a decent chance of surpassing Cemu. At the very least, it would likely push Exzap to further improve Cemu. Competition is a good thing.

Sure thing, child. Now let's get back to discussing how stupid you are for thinking Doom going OGL/Vulkan is meaningful, which clearly shows your absolute lack of knowledge on the matter.
>>
>>180582653

OpenGL *can* be better than Direct3D, depending on task, driver, and OS. Generally however, it is not. Vulkan looks to be a completely different story.
>>
>>180582505
>Right now. It's literally a current industry happening.

Where's evidence of this?
>>
>>180582923

No-Intro is generally the gold standard when it comes to all things cartridge based. Only use TOSEC/Goodsets if you have a specific reason to.

>>
>>180583739
Oh God he was being serious.

id Software is a standout in the industry because they (or at least Carmack) was a supporter of open source software since always. And he put his money where his mouth is. The engine that powered Quake and Quake 2 used OpenGL. Doom 3? OpenGL. Rage? OpenGL. They also open source their old engines after some time passes. Doom 2016 going with OpenGL yet again says nothing of the current state of the industry. It was completely expected. If anything, it'd have shocked everyone if id had switched to DirectX.
>>
>>180584303
Tapes and cartridges (last one) are easiest to run. PP consist of disk images in accurate archival format, but you need convert most of them before using in emulator.
>>

>>
>>180584505
Does that bother the DX push by Bill gates to have it? Last time i checked there was a DX port.

Plus you have to remember the grasp that DX has/had on PC games. DX was the default renderer in many PC games for a long time. (Yes in some you could switch but DX was default)That's changing for the good.

So despite Carmacks autistic screaching about open source he still sold his ass out to a closed source API. The example of the new Doom was to show in context that DX is losing ground in the PC API "war". And that Vulkan and OGL have some backing from AAA devs. Hence why i said Doom. It does not disprove my orginal post as was your intent. Infact our argument has improved upon it. I thank you for that.

Bill wanted a DX port to sell win 95 to PC gamers. Carmack sold out like a bitch and "most"
gamers went to win 95 and DX ruled from there.
DX became the "go to" API for games and sort of like my feelings towards intel, MS got complacent and never improved DX much. Hence why it is stagnating today.
Personaly i wanted linux to be the "gaming" platform. But most of the devs who had the skills just made beat up Bill gates flash games.
>Not really since again id Software has always used OGL.
You are right, but i care more about Vulkan. OGL was just existing next to DX not overtaking it. Vulkan is the one to kill off DX

Looks like a combiner issue. GlideN64 has a far more accurate, non-hacky method of combiner emulation but there are some extreme idiosyncrasies in N64 emulation.

Glide64 is completely incapable of rendering mipmapped textures, emulating noise, nor scaling framebuffers correctly, but if you think a handful of games having issues that haven't been fixed is a bigger issue, that's your business.

>Ah, I'm glad it's not just me saying that. The worst part of his docs to me is when he hits something he doesn't know. He'll find a bit you can write to that has no perceivable effect. So he'll speculate it's this elaborate and complex thing, and sometimes it's hard to tell what's pure speculation and what's grounded in actual observation. Well, that and he plays kind of fast and loose between writing his own notes and just copy-pasting others' work (often without any accreditation. So, basically plagiarism.)

Yeah I remember thinking it was crazy to just download a PS1 game from one direct link like that (cause they were big and recent enough in memory to be weird), as if they were a fucking NES rom or something, and now you can do that with PS2/GameCube/PSP. Time flies and they're there still.
>>
>>180613248
>GlideN64 has a far more accurate, non-hacky method of combiner emulation but there are some extreme idiosyncrasies in N64 emulation.
If it's a combiner issue, then that should be easy to fix.

>but if you think a handful of games having issues that haven't been fixed is a bigger issue, that's your business.
Glide64 is less accurate overall, but quite a few games are better on it. Glide64 isn't quite obsolete yet :).

It's silly for people to stick to just 1 video plugin, unless they've thoroughly tested multiple plugins and found one that meets their needs for each game they play.

I feel like I saw you on /v/ and /vr/ already, but since Anonymous and shit it's hard to tell.

To the point: NES, SNES, GB/GBC/GBA, NDS (Try NO$GBA, if it doesn't it's a lost cause), maybe PS1, maybe some N64 Games through Pj64 and maybe some PSP Games with PPSSPP since it's pretty well optimized.

just try it. i'd try it just to see if they worked if they were me. ppsspp is very well optimized as the other poster said, and has many low-spec games. try patapon.

but mostly just use retroarch. it will definetely work for almost every system it includes. retroarch is a "compilation" of emulators, that includes pretty much every console you care about that was released pre-2000. look it up on youtube.

I sincerely don't know what to tell you.
PSX v1.13 which I didn't specified on that comment, NO$GBA, Project64 with a HW Plugin and PPSSPP are literally the toaster-tier emulators for PS1, NDS, N64 and PSP.
If your shitty laptop can't handle those, there's nothing else you can do but to buy a new one.

>>
>>180626967
I don't think so, no.
It should be a hella easy task though:
1) Dump all the textures related to the UI.
Once you're done you can optionally delete all the ones you don't need.
2) Open all the files you dumped with an image editor that allows you to change the size of multiple images and apply filters like a 2x upscaler them.
3) Save them.
4) Enjoy.

I'm sure this been already answered but I can't find anything anywhere. So I'm trying to emulate Silent HIll with the newest retroarch (with the whole aspect correction and jittering reduction) and while I'm pretty satisfied with the result, I can't find a way to remove these white boxes on some characters.
Now, this happens with other emulators too, but for those you can find easily a solution which doesn't "translate" on retroarch's functions.

Anyone had this problem before? How was it fixed?

So, I'm emulating some super metroid romhack on RetroArch with the bsnes mercury (balanced) core and I noticed that this game makes poor use of enemies on screen, so it's pretty laggy on some rooms.

Is there some sort of overclocking I can do or at least turn down that accuracy in favor of maybe something faster? I bet this could make the original hardware shit itself. Maybe I should use a different core?

Some older emulator don't care much about accurate cycle counts so they could indeed run without the slowdown, nobody wants to implement OC anywhere else for various more or less good reasons (bSNEs assumes the emulated SNES runs at default clockspeed in a lot of places so making it so that it can work properly with OC is a pain in the ass iirc, Snes9x I can't find why they're not doing it outside of a retard on the forums misunderstanding what as asked http://www.snes9x.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5728)

Run the game.
Open PPSSPP menu > Settings > Tools > Create/Open textures.ini
In the file, change hash = to "xxh32", then below that add the line "ignoreAddress = true" and save the file.
Then in PPSSPP enable the options Save new textures and Replace textures.
Play the game and your textures will be dumped to "PPSSPP\MemStick\PSP\TEXTURES\*GAME_ID*\new"
For the textures you want to change, copy their filename (without the file extension) and paste it under [hashes] in texture.ini, and put " = texturename.png" after it. Example:
00000000b8c1f62604930715 = Icons.png
You can also put textures into different folders for organization:
00000000b8c1f62604930715 = HUD/Icons.png
Put your new textures into "PPSSPP\MemStick\PSP\TEXTURES\*GAME_ID*" with the filenames you set under [hashes]. Like:
PPSSPP\MemStick\PSP\TEXTURES\*GAME_ID*\HUD\Icons.png

People have been in the process of translating this game for like the last 5 years. They're stuck at inserting the text back into the game. Works fine in Windows, detects all the inputs, but the joystick doesn't work and the buttons are all fucked up once I'm actually inside a game.
>>
>>180682878
does it work in the ra menu?

I assume your controller uses dinput
>>
>>180683842

Yes it does. Joystick works for navigating the menu. B and A buttons seem to be reverse mapped. It's a first party N64 controller if that helps. It's just very weird in game. R trigger does what L trigger should do, Z does what Start should do, A works fine, nothing else works at all.
>>
>>180685195
just configure your controls then, it's not going to configure itself the first time
>>
>>180668364
That process would make playing translated games way fucking easier than ever before. Is it a matter of writing the text and display it according the presses of your buttons once synchronized with the emulator or something else?
>>
>>180675547

So I haven't used RA for a good long while and I'm back on the ride, but the autoconfig message for my controller pops up every few seconds and causes stuttering in game.

This happens with both wired and wireless controllers, I've disabled autoconfig but the stutter remains just without the messages.

Anybody else run into this issue? This is on Win10 FWIW but I have a bad feeling my mobo's usb controller is dying...

Fuck PCSX2 and everyone involved with it. This goes far beyond the PS2 being a complex machine. It's simply comes down to incompetence.

They can't keep their wiki working, they were six months late with the last progress update, they need hacks to make hacks work. They come off as incredibly hostile. The PS2 deserves better.

2) Super Tempo (SAT), 2017 redump version would be nice too.

>>180733174
I don't know about MSX but PC98 situation is so fucked no-intro will never touch it
First of all, it's a computer platform so it's going to be forever incomplete as there's way too much software (especially some obscure doujin stuff that only sold 100 floppies or whatever)
Large portion of current dumps are distributed as HDD images with autorun.inf configured so the game starts with the system instead of source floppies or CDs. Even some floppy dumps are made bootable this way and some include someone's savegames. Imagine distributing PC games as vmware images, it's that bad. These need to be trashed and properly dumped.
And of course there's no large community in Japan that gives a fuck about preserving that software properly.

On most GBA games there's oversaturation in colors because of the original GBA's poor screen illumination, so when the games are viewed on a normal screen they look oversaturated (check pic related). Been trying to play mystery dungeon super on citra. Getting crashes whenever certain effects are loaded like rippling on water.

I chatted with the devs about it and it looks like it has something to do with reading pixels from non GPU memory.

Disabling hardware rendering stops the crashes but that drops the fps to less than 1.

Any other ways I can play super? Would 3dmoo work?

I want to play some Metroid II, but bgb and VBA-M won't load the SGB palette despite other games like Megaman V loading them just fine. Gambatte will do it but Gambatte won't let me map my controls the way I want. Is this a known problem for Metroid II on those emulators?

You can point with the wii remote to shoot stuff, so you can emulate that with the right stick, but it's pretty uncomfortable. You don't NEED to shoot stuff like 95% of the time, but I feel that's like saying you don't NEED to jump most of the time; you be limiting yourself by not using it because it's awkward to use.

Overall I'd say playing SMG without a real Wii remote is not a great idea.
>>
>>180798660
Metroid II isn't a SGB game like Mega Man V
>>
>>180806201
Yeah, I tried setting up the controls, there isn't a good way to make it comfortable. Will just have to wait until I get the stuff necessary to play it with the intended set-up.
>>
>>180798660
If you want colors in Metroid 2, set it up with the gbc bootrom.
In bgb: Options->System
Set emulated system to gbc. Place gbc bios in the folder with bgb. Put its filename in the gbc bootrom spot and tick the box to enable it.

My main issue with the PS2 controller is the pressure sensitivity bullshit. It tended to cause the buttons to wear out in such a way that you needed to eventually hammer them with a ton of force to make the press register at all, every PS2 controller I had had this eventually happen to the X button and it was annoying.

I think he stopped because he's a skid who can't compete with the CEMU devs. If mudlord had real skills, he'd continue cracking, given that he probably still has some petty grudge against CEMU devs and probably most devs who make money off emulation.

Funny how he talks about end users bein entitled, yet has a problem with devs receiving donations.

So I want to play Metroid Prime Trilogy on Hypermode but I don't want to have to beat the game first. There's a gecko code to change difficulty but I'm not really familiar with how these work and I haven't been able to get it to do anything. That 2 on the third line used to be an X, I changed it to a 2 because I think that's what I'm supposed to do? It says press left, but when I press dpad left in game with this code on nothing happens, when I press it on the main menu nothing happens either. Any ideas?

Also just to clarify yeah I know this particular code is for MP2, so thats not the problem.

Sorry about asking for help so blatantly, but I can't really find anything helpful about this anywhere, I've done a lot of googling.

I don't know anything about whats good for emulation but, intel uses a really shitty thermal interface between the cpu die and the heatspreader which means buying a new intel cpu right now is stupid unless you want to delid which means you void your warranty and potentially kill the cpu. Also I don't think there are many coolers that can handle the new x series because they are bassically overclocked xeons producing massive amount of heat, you will probably need a custom liquid loop that will not be cheap and delid.

Not him, but are you sure the temperature is limiting the clockrate? I heard Skylake and Kabylake generally have good temperature. Although I know delidding can make a huge difference. I hear it's not worth it to delid skylake/kabylake.

Can't be certain but it probably does because the cpu's hit somewhere between 90-100+ Degree Celcius which is above the recommended operating limit, and it should probably run below that. Gamers Nexus has a some good benchmarks for the i7 7740x
http://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/2965-intel-i7-7740x-cpu-review-vs-7700k-not-worth-it
The thermals are really bad and vastly improved by deliding, an overclocked i7 7700k (Don't tell me not to overclock a k processor) gets 20 deg Celcius better thermals when replacing the thermal compound.
However the 6700k is fine and they didn't cheap out on the material. You can buy one if you want but I wouldn't support such lazy cost cutting measures, there is basically no reason to buy a 7700k, if you want one just buy a 7700 because why buy an overclock able processor that can't be overclocked because it can't handle the temps.

Is there a way to remove screen tearing in MAME without adding more frames of input lag? Look around on other sites, it was recommended disabling throttle and turning on "sync to refresh". This fixes the tearing but adds noticeable input lag. I'm aware that because MAME is emulating hardware with so many slight variations, that there isn't a catch-all fix like with console emulators, but I just wanted to know if there's an option that I'm missing.
>>
>>180918926
No, vsync is the only way to remove screen tearing. It adds 16.5 ms of input lag at most, I really doubt it's that bad.
>>
>>180920197
It seems to vary from game to game, but it some cases it's pretty bad. I was more wondering if there was a way to keep vsync on and reduce the lag, like with a different build like Groovymame. If need be, I'll just deal with the tearing, control is much better that way

I haven't used it in a while but recently loaded it up again and now none of my games will connect to the internet, I keep getting connection errors.

While I do genuinely suspect Cemu devs might have some illegal docs, I wouldn't be surprised if the Decaf devs also have these docs. Exzap offered to help Decaf devs if they need help anyway.

I gotta give them credit for their optimizations though. They managed to do a better job handling shader compilation than Dolphin devs. It shows that they are smarter/more talented than these glorified and overrated Open source developers.

>>
>>180955570
Keeping the drama out:
1. Wii U library is small and most games are not worth emulating (the fall in the donations after BotW became somewhat playable alone is a huge hint about this).
2. Cemu is 100% useless for documentation and preservation purposes (not a big thing if you don't care about this, but sooner or later you will not be able to even use Cemu for the sole reason that no one can keep working on the code).
3. Even the multiplats on OG XBox are worth emulating (because almost all of them had exclusive content), so I don't even need to tell about the exclusives (not a huge list, but much better than anything available on the Wii U).
4. Cemu is clearly slowing down progress to keep the money flowing, something that's completely opposite on RPCS3 and CxBx-Reloaded
5. Just take a good look at the PS3 library and how many games changed form almost nothing to playable in the last 2 weeks (protip: more than 20).
I'm not here to insult you anon, I'm here to show you that your money could be much more valuable in the right hands

Source code becomes fucked up just one year later

bugs and new hardware tricks for late-gen games no longer fixed past the date he takes over

Zeromus-sama picks a game at random and decides he hates it. Emulation for all hardware features used in that game takes a turn for the worse for all of that system's library, like in a coding penalty game.
Expect non-docked mode emulation to be broken on purpose for any NSwitch emulator by zeromus-ue-sama because Pokemon Stars or something.

Some fanboys and retroarch developers defend this emulator to death as the most accurate emulator to grace this earth, even more accurate than the console itself.

What makes you so sure about that? I think that there's always plenty of work to do in emulation. Always some way to either improve accuracy or performance. He could even work on Linux support.

Nothing stopping an open source dev from withholding parts of their code either..

The accusation is that the dev is "intentionally slowing down progress to keep the money flowing". That's not something provable by having access to an open source repository.

can anyone test this on metroid prime?
>>
>>180568707
Hi guys,
I won't lie, i'm completly shit with ISOs and don't really know how to deal with two of my problems:

I have downloaded nsfu2 for the ps2 and I'm having trouble lauching it: 2 .dll files are apparently missing but I don't know where and how to put them in.

My second is issue is modding the game. Am I able to do it, and if yes, how ? I only have a .rar and an .iso of the game so I don't know how to mod it.

Thanks in advance for your patience, again, I'm pretty bad with these sort of things.
>>
>>180969106
There are already some feedbacks on this same PR, seems like lot's of bugs on most games
>>
>>180969340
I was hoping to see some footage or comparisons eventually

You're shit with computers, be fair

Not enough info anon, post shots of the error or at least the text. What emulator/build/plugins, be useful whe providing infos so people can help you faster.
>My second is issue is modding the game. Am I able to do it, and if yes, how ? I only have a .rar and an .iso of the game so I don't know how to mod it.
Someone can mod the game, not you, by how much you seem to know about emulation so far, stay away from this
>>
>>180969445
I guess it's still too soon, I would test the game myself or just wait a little more

sort of yes, but this isn't the first time I'm emulating at all.
>Not enough info anon, post shots of the error or at least the text. What emulator/build/plugins, be useful whe providing infos so people can help you faster.
yeah sure: the errors are saying the game can't launch because "VCRUNTIME140.dll" and "MSVCP140.dll" are missing from my computer. I have downloaded the second have but I've no ideas what I should do with it.
>Someone can mod the game, not you, by how much you seem to know about emulation so far, stay away from this
I usually now how to add mods on games, and I'm just not sure how I should do with an ISO.

this is what I did but the solutions were dumb as fuck and made me download shitty .dll; and since it sounded fishy I decided to post here. i won't do it again don't worry, I usually don't ask for help before having done some research beforehands, i'm not a faggot.

i'm not sure why you are trying to mod the ps2 version when the pc version exists anon. just a casual google search got me info on how to mod the pc version, you should look into that instead of bothering with the ps2 version.

i'd go out on a limb and say mods for the ps2 version don't exist and if they do it's easier to just mod the pc version

because I really don't want to redownload the game with my utterly shitty connection.

https://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/comments/6jvh95/dolphin_ubershaders_finally_coming_ready_for/

According to JMC, D3D has the best performance with Ubershaders when using Exclusive. Mind = blown how so many people hate D3D despite it having good performance..
>>
>>180976124
Just because you're able to point one very specific case scenario where D3D had better results doesn't mean it's not shit. Also, go read the real results on the GitHub, being "better" in this case means nothing when this mode is almost useless for playing (again, read the entire GitHub PR before talking shit...)
>>
>>180976123
This points even more to their incompetence
>>
>>180953502
>N64 emulation greatly benefited from these docs.
An SDK leak and a source leak from the graphics card manufacturer are completely different things.
>>
>>180976124
It's because there's a bug somewhere. Testing Hit and Run (native res on a 750ti) and just the intro splashes: Ubershaders disabled and Hybrid both get ~140fps (same as DX11), while Exclusive gets ~10fps, that's gotta be a bug with the drivers or ubershaders. In the main menu (which is 3D) it's ~520-580fps vs ~210fps (DX11 gets ~350fps on both).
>>
>>180976124

>DUDE Let's keep supporting windows only propietary software!
>>
>>180979326
The docs in the SDK are quite useful. Knowing all of the parameters of a OS call and what they return would make HLEing it much easier.

>the graphics card manufacturer
SGI developed the entire thing.
>>
I haven't been into emulation in years. Does N64 emulation still suck?
>>
>>180984232
Yes, and this is sad
>>
>>180979326
>An SDK leak and a source leak from the graphics card manufacturer are completely different things.
While you're right about that, SDK leaks are still significant. HLE graphics wouldn't be a thing, without the SDK, because almost no one actually reverse engineer the microcode. Just look at the supposed pioneer of N64 HLE gfx (GLideN64). They still haven't HLEd World Driver Championship and appear to have given up, all because no documentation on it.

Doesn't both Decaf and Cemu use HLE?
>>
>>180984380
>Yes, and this is sad
In what way does it still suck?

why did PSP emulation get so good so fast? PPSSPP blew past other emulation projects that had been in development longer than the PSP has been out.

so I got DeS to finally run on RPSC3

got to the starting area, but I couldnt see shit because textures wouldnt load and it was jsut fog everywhere. Fucked around with graphic settings a bit, and tried it again, only now it keeps throwing up pink messages saying file access memory/location error

I even tried putting it back on original settings, and it still gives the error message

It's still very far from playable, not really worth fucking around with yet. Even if you do get past random hangs or crashes, 90% of the time you go through a loading screen you'll get pic related and will have to quit out.

>>180986005
Read the fucking compatibility list you moron, you need to set "Read Color Buffers" ON to don't get this black screen, this was told everywhere since the fucking first time the game reached in-game. The game will crash when you get to the end of the tutorial, but will save anyway, so you can load in the Nexus to continue playing

Not him but you also can't prove half of your 2nd point and your 4th point though.

>>180970779
Not that Anon but while I do get your point, if you know where to get them and you confirmed their safety beforehand, downloading an individual .dll isn't dangerous at all and you should be shot instead.

>>180976527
Not that Anon but on my machine both, D3D9 and D3D11, were getting 10 FPS more than OGL too, and from what I recall, it was basically the same on my previous PC too.

Neither can you disproof him. Don't be stupid
>Not that Anon but while I do get your point, if you know where to get them and you confirmed their safety beforehand, downloading an individual .dll isn't dangerous at all and you should be shot instead.
He's a retarded, so it's more than logical to assume that he's not capable of know if some file is safe or not, he still deserve the bullet.
>Not that Anon but on my machine both, D3D9 and D3D11, were getting 10 FPS more than OGL too, and from what I recall, it was basically the same on my previous PC too.
How long you've been in the emulation scene?
This is not even worth talking about anymore, anyone saying "this backend is better because of the API alone" don't know their shit
>>
>>180986418
>Read the fucking compatibility list you moron, you need to set "Read Color Buffers" ON to don't get this black screen
Write color buffers, it turns out. And that wasn't posted when the game first went in-game, as people were posting about lowering the in-game brightness to 0 to reduce the chances of it happening back then.
Still, it runs at 15fps internally most of the time even when it says 30fps, so it's not worth the bother yet. A year, or maybe even in a few months, probably til it's playable though.
>>
>>180987853
A few months I would bet, stability is still a bitch (those crashes when loading from area to area). What CPU do you have?

I'm not being stupid, I'm being realistic. You can't use as a proof for your fact something that both, you (read: that Anon) and the person you're talking to can't prove.

Also, I didn't said or implied that Dolphin's DiretX Renderer was better just because its API alone, I just said that it worked better than the OGL Renderer in the 2 instances of my life I've used it, which it does.
