You know, real talk, I really feel like they wrote the whole thing pretty badly.

Like I wanted to see two things: I wanted way more emotion from both of them, or at least the female Inquisitor. There's no "I loved you!" kind of dialogue. It's written like he was an acquaintance and the whole thing is just really inconvenient.
The other thing I wanted was the option to explicitly ask and clarify whether or not he knew that dude's family was there.

Instead it's "I did thing! (even though I really only gave the order, but I assume full responsibility like a decent person should)" and your only responses as Inquisitor are "Ok" or "Not okay".

It's really annoying.

Qunari sew their mages' mouths shut, cut out their tongues, and treat them more like living weapons than people, so they just sit around festering until they explode. And that's if you're qunari - if you're not and you convert, then they mindbreak you and put you to work doing hard labor for the rest of your life. Some cultures might not have problems with mages (the only one I can think of that apparently handles them with zero trouble is Rivain, but they're a borderline-caricature hippie commune), but the Qun is not one of them.

I remember Gaider mentioned wanting to make the templars more sympathetic than they seem at first glance, though where Weekes will go with that is anyone's guess.

I miss all the crowd control spells, healing spells, buffs/debuffs, glyphs, weapon enchantment spells, skeleton minion, spell combinations from Origins. Inquisition has a total of 30 usable spells, and you can only have 8 of them equipped. Origins had 92 spells!

I agree that there was more variety, but at the same time, 92 spells... depending on how you level, a lot of it just ends up being clutter. Inquisition could probably use another non-specialization tree at least, but at the same time I tend to think less is more.

Yeah, for the most part, and that should change. If I had to guess, though, most normal (read "not Kirkwall") Circles are more like Ferelden's, so it's probably not half as bad as some mages make it out to be.

While not perfect - they like to dabble in Blood Magic a little to much - Tevinter seems to have the best grip on general magical education, but the Chantry isn't ready for the resulting power play. And not smart enough to reasearch into the training methods of the other faiths in Thedas.

Also, I think the Ferelden Circle wasn't all roses either - remember how Jowan (rightfully) feared Tranquility due to his lack of talent preventing him from the Harrowing? Or that the Mage Origin PC is told that going out of the tower isn't allowed?

I think it depends on the individual - there's some who are bored with standard beauty/add visual interest, just want to draw some characters with flaws which they themselves have, some do it to normalize the little human imperfections we all have... I'm a big fan of this artist who's done a lot of art of Cole, Sera and Samson/Calpernia, precisely because she likes them for their flawed looks.

Not that anon, but I agree with those artists who like to draw characters' imperfections exactly because they make them interesting. A character who has already imperfections can be pretty great to look at and Cole's strange looks are a good example, because they look good on him and they actually make sense (he's a spirit who decided to look like a young man abused for most of his life who died of starvation in a tower after smashing his hands against the stones to call for help).

But I really can't bring myself to like those artists who purposefully change a character in a drastic way just to make them ugly and "fight the patriarchy that wants all women and men to be beautiful". See that artist that draw every DA character fat and hairy or those who make them black because "they are black now, sorry, I don't make the rules".

The relationship Cole develops with Solas just breaks my heart.

Solas is the only character who understands Cole and tries to help him, and Cole's comments about Solavellan makes it claear that the feeling is mutual. Solas truly is the best dad in Inquisition.

I think Sten was just joking in his dry, witty way. Qunari may be tall and intimidating, but they aren't really brutes and their beliefs actually show this. They would hate being compared to animals or act like them even during sex.

There are some mentions about Bull being big, though. One woman at Haven "walks funny" after spending a night with him and the scene in the Inquisitor's room where he tells the famous "you want to ride the bull" joke shows that he wants you to be sure and ready for what's to come, because it might be intense/painful.
