You can craft weapons and armor with Iron and other stuff. I will say that if you're comparing it to Origins, you're probably going to have a bad time just because it's pretty far removed from what DAO was like. Just take it at your own pace and you'll be fine.

Eventually it got to a point where she'd decided that ancient elves had a "shadow self" in the Fade and that the whole of Thedas was Mythal's giant dragon egg. She'd also compare other people's theories to her own as if it were canon and act like a victim if anyone pointed out to her that they really were just her theories, bawling that she was sorry she couldn't make them understand.
On the opposite end, there was Killabee, the only guy in the board. He was there because Solas had been his character's best friend, and he liked posting about history and joking around about the romance (a lot of it involved Solas using the DENNIS system). Definitely one of the community's bright spots.

Yeah, but that girl's reasoning is even wrong, because the rest of Thedas doesn't actually know shit about the elves and their ancient culture. Orlesians consider them worse than animals; they even erased the ears on every depiction of Shartan, wrote books about how disgusting lying with an elf is, and actually hid everything that proved how mighty and powerful elves really were.
Same counts for Tevinter, while the other countries don't care that much about them, but no human scholar ever wrote something positive and good about them and their lost culture. They are derided and accused of stealing sugar even in recipe books.
The only human scholar who actually put some effort into learning true facts about the elves is Genitivi and he did that with the ELVES' help, more precisely Keeper Gisharel of the Ralaferin clan, who accepted to reveal more about Dalish lore and customs to the shem world, hoping humans would finally respect them more.

Flemeth's hut in Origins sucked, though. Not because it was a bad model, but it was actually a filthy hut full of bones and books, with little room to move and a stinky moldy garden surrounding it.
Flemeth and Morrigan wear leathers and furs, they don't look that well-clothed to me, so they looked like good witches to me. Rivaini seers on the other hand are supposed to be way more elegant, refined, probably full of jewels and perfumes.

I think the Evanuris gained their immortality by transferring a part of their essence into the Old Gods, like the "Horcrux" from Harry Potter. And the Forbidden Ones fought against the Evanuris, both groups hated each other. Maybe their only objective is to weaken the Evanuris for the eventual Veil collapse? I don't know but it is an interesting theory!

The Evanuris probably wanted to bring the Blight back on Thedas because it was their biggest weapon. That's what they were using before Solas locked them away. They probably hoped they would get freed by Corypheus, yes, or maybe they realized he couldn't do it, but thought about unleashing the Taint, which could always be a way for them to find a way out somehow.

I don't know... I mean, it's obvious they worked hard to make Jaal's scene good, and compared to most of the rest of the game it's remarkable how much better it is. But at the same time it didn't really captivate me like Solas's did.
